Interesting photos... but again, it looks like the feet are still mistransformed. Does this mean that the toy cannot be properly transformed into "Destroid"/Battroid mode??

Another batch of photos:

So far no complain from HK - joints are tight, nothing mispainted or falling off etc.

Yeah the feet don't lift as high as the line art

But the toe joints are there

So may be you can lift it higher with the stand and pretend it can stand on the toes. :p

whoa!

from the pics, the old Yammie's bigger than the DX.

shuttle-mode: tie.

gerwalk-mode: i give the edge to the old Yammie, as it looks more menacingly Monster than the DX.

p9230218a.th.jpg p9230223a.th.jpg

destroid-mode: DX definitely looks prettier with the stickers, but the DX cannons look weak by proportions.

what is the scale of the DX again?

DX is "non-scale" (meaning we won't know its scale until someone busts out a tape measure and does some math), that's why it's also considered part of the Robots Damashii (Robot Spirits) line. The Yamato is allegedly 1/100 (I've never done the math on that one either). It looks like the Robot Spirits/DX Koenig may at least be in scale with the Robots Spirits VF-25 toys (which are a bit smaller than 1/100 also).

Thanks.

The Yamato looks more menacing, but overall, the DX looks a bit sharper just due to the paint job and stickers.

looks like its in scale with the rest of the robot spirits line. damn bandai make a 1/100 version or a 1/72 model kit. i'd buy it.

Wow, it looks really good. I like some things about the Yamato more on that second pic. But The DX looks a lot better. But seeing the differences, I'm glad I got the Yamato version also. Well, not also... can't afford that DX just yet. :(

Just got my payment request from AmiAmi.

Feels good man.

This sucker must be deceptively heavy. They charged me 4080 yen for SAL shipment... Normally I pay that much for EMS shipping on valkyries. I thought SAL would have been cheaper.

Yep same here.

At that price the weight on their chart puts the package at 2.2kg. Bodes well I suppose.

Regular version is at 1230g or 2.71 lbs and the SP Version is at 1870g or 4.12 lbs. AmiAmi also like to use bigger boxes and pack it with plenty of cushion.

Is there more than just the Konig in your order? I'm in the US and EMS for my Konig was 4000 Yen. Seems very unusual for SAL to be more than EMS.

Nope, just the standard edition Konig, not even the special one. I don't understand why it costs so much to ship with SAL even with the big boxes, considering that I had Yamato and Bandai valks shipped from Amiami before using EMS that was around that price.

The pictures of the one with the Cheryl stickers did it for me. Definitely wanting to get the Bandai one now. Unfortunately, I blew my last wad on a VF-27, so I'm gonna have to wait a month or so before I can snag it.

Yammie's looks better with the longer thicker cannons, but the Bandai wins for overall looks. I love the base Im going to drop the coin on it tomorrow

Ya it did seem pretty steep, which is a little concerning when they ship out the sdf-1

It would have been shipped by SAL Parcel and not SAL Small Packet which is the cheaper shipping method and can only be used for items less than 2kg in weight and below certain dimensions. SAL Parcel can at times cost more than EMS. Seeing that Amiami couldn't even send me the the fold booster and fast pack for the YF-19/YF-21 via SAL small packet when HLJ could, they definitely would have sent your package via normal SAL parcel which cost similar or even more than EMS.

picked one up today. nice compact box. deceptively light.

when i took it out of the box, it was actually satisfyingly hefty. during transformation it becamse apparent why. lots of metal, in all the right places:

P9274015-Copy.jpgP9274014.jpg

shuttle mode was rock solid, but as with other transforming toys, gaps are apparent. i'd love for hasegawa to make a shuttle only version.

as mentioned by early reviews, everything is nice and tight and locks and ratchets everywhere. you'll hear lots of positive clicking sounds during transformation. i don't see the arms sagging anytime soon, perhaps never.

one minor quibble though is that it looks small even beside the RD VF-25:

P9274023.jpg

i was hoping it would scale more like this, relative to the SD's: :D

P9274027.jpg

having said that, holding the toy in hand is bliss. it's heavy and chunky, if that was the right word.

tip for when exposing the chin turret: the instruction says to pull down the circular bottom base, but that is actually solid with the chassis so it's actually the cockpit/body which you should pull UP

i haven't decided whether to sticker eyes or nose art. but looking at the sheryl nose art, it seems small enough not to overlap the shark mouth. placing the sticker sheet over the toy, i could find a spot a bit higher up and to the right that would clear the mouth. i don't know if the sheryl nose art in the SP version is actually bigger than the one included in the normal version, but i really don't see why they had to overlap the mouth in the SP version, which i would've bought for that sweet clear base but was just turned off by the nose art and shark mouth overlap.

can someone confirm if the SP version comes with the nose art already applied? if not, i might get another one for shuttle mode and get the base as well. or then again, i might wait for the weathered version....

That is the VF-100 VF-25 which is slightly taller than RD. There is no RD VF-25 full armor, unless you made a custom. B))

ah, i thought the 1/100 VF's were the RDs. guess i was expecting the VB-6 to come in at 1/100 and it came in smaller.

now i need to grab myself some proper RDs

Would someone be willing to scan the sticker sheet at a high resolution.. for - ah - 'archival' interests... yeah?
