What can we hope to expect in 2010 in terms of modelling? Here's the Macross models I'm looking forwards to, I know there's more not listed here...

Hasegawa's VF-1 1:48

Wave's Tomahawk 1:72

The Captain's Cat's Eye 1:72

What are you looking forwards to, or do you have a juicy inside scoop...?

I hope that the Yamato VF-1 Model kit will continue to be produced, that they will make blank DIY model kits of all the rest (VF-0, YF-19, YF-21, etc..) and that they will, or anyone else will produce waterslide decal sets including both minmay guards.

Also a VF-171 kit would be nice.

A new macross factory kit would be awesome.

Macross support vehicles and ground crew would be good too.

I picked up a January Hobby Japan and the 1/48 YF-19 and VF-1 looks great with removable leg panels (on both). The Wave kits look like they should be out (I don't read Japanese) and the newer pictures of the Monster look huge even next to their 1/72nd Tomahawk. There is a whole section related to "Macross 2010" stuff.

There were also interviews with trivial information. They had Kawamori sitting in fron of the 1/250th models and a display with some cuties displaying an anniversay sign.

I should get the Feb edition, there's probably updates. The $48.00 I spent already on that and two other publiucations kept me from spending more.

2010 will be a good year for Macross fans! - MT

From our favorite "Factories", I would like the following:

Bandai:

1/72 Vajra models

1/72 VF-171

1/72 MF Destroids

Macross Quarter (model kit of course)

Hasegawa:

1/48 VF-1 fast pack, strike and ground crew kits

1/48 YF-21, VF-0, and Macross Zero editions of F-14 and Mig-29

1/48 VF-1 Battroid, this will be a kick-ass.

Photo Etching sets for all above.

Mslz22:

1/72 Monster v2.0

Moscato Hobby:

1/72 N-Ger

1/72 Q-Rau

1/72 Fan Liner

Looking forward to Wave's 1/100 snap-fit VF-1s. Both fighter and battroid mode kits. Fighter mode kit is supposed to be out sometime this month. Battroid next month.

Hopefully these kits sell well and they move onto more esoteric Valks.

I also hope that Bandai continues to expand their Frontier lineup.

Q-Reas & 1/48 Messiah plz.

Has Bandai ever made anything in 1/48 scale?

pre-painted or pre-naked?

I've already said--I like the flightsuit. A lot. I most certainly would NOT buy a naked model/statue etc.

The DX V Gundam is in 1/48 scale.

They also had a series of HG Aestivalis kits.

There's also a 1/48 RX-78 Gundam coming soon this year.

But in general Bandai does not release kits in 1/48 scale for obvious reasons.

They did, as mentioned above, but most important in this regard is the 1/48 mockup of the VF-25 that was shown at last year's Shizuoka.

Some guy named Experten is going to sell a fully transformable 1/100 VF-4G at Wonder Festival 2010. Around 18,000 yen each I think.

http://experten.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/201.../vf-4-7404.html

Seems that before, he sold at Treasure Festa, some 1/100 VF-17D and VF-19A models for 30k yen and 35k yen each, respectively.

Of course, I am reading this off Google Translate and trying to make sense of it.

Wow :-)

After seeing this VF-17D, I really wonder what stops Bandai from doing a 1/72 VF171... really nice kit from Experten!

What's so particular is the fact that even a mere garage kit maker, to be exact, an individual, has access to the license.

I'd like an entire series of capitol ships, please.

Carriers, escort ships, New Macross carriers, all of them.

Not to scale with the Quarter certainly!

But 1/5000 would be pretty good...
