Valkyrie Driver Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I just bought a bandai vf25 1/100 scale toy, it's in the mail, so I don't have it yet. I just wanted to know what I got myself into. I just saw a transformation guide video thet shows it being a part-former, which isn't a huge deal for me, I have two vf-1's that are kinda that way. Have there been any problems with them or are they a pretty solid toy? It looks cool, which is what counts I guess, after all it's just gonna guard my desk. Quote
Funkenstein Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 the VF100 toys were pretty unpopular due to high cost and loads of partsforming. Other than that and the fact that the line is discontinued, I don't think there are any major problems with the toy. Quote
regult Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 solid? no, legs don't hold position in fighter mode, and crotch articulation is quite lose in battroid mode. Gerwalk (VF-25F) is almost impossible to stand on it's own legs. mine was bluetac'ed in fighter mode for a while, and I have all 3 versions released! Careful: the -G has a 1/72 scale gun... Quote
hui Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 You just want them looking good? No problem! Next to kits they are the best out there! In terms of plane or battriod mode. Quote
Valkyrie Driver Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 The Mecha from Macross Frontier was pretty cool, I liked the lines of the VF-25 and wanted a version of it, So if it looks good, I guess I don't mind, but it would have been nice to have a genuine transformer. As I said though I have two VF-1's (A&S) that are similar (interchanging hands, bracketry for mounting the gun pod) so I'm used to copious quantities of kibble. Quote
hutch Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Those actually LOOK really nice. I've got the 1/60 Alto super...I'm trying to decide whether to buy an Ozma armored in 1/60 or the 1/100 Ozma...crap I love the VF-25. Quote
Valkyrie Driver Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Right now it sits in the box in my closet. Too much time for good play. However the modes all look great, so there's the trade off. I've been pretty happy with all my purchases thus far, though my favorite has to be my Zero. Quote
spacemanoeuvres Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) solid? no, legs don't hold position in fighter mode, and crotch articulation is quite lose in battroid mode. I have to agree, this was my least satisfying vf purchase. It has LOADS of parts, my gun is warped into a banana and the hips are all jammed up in batroid mode. The 1/72 kit is wa'aay nicer. Hopefully the op will enjoy it more than I do. Edited January 8, 2010 by spacemanoeuvres Quote
Valkyrie Driver Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 I'm not thrilled, in fact I just got the big brother toy. Should be here within the next week. Still though, it looks good on my desk. My only complaint is the partsforming. Quote
nexxstrait Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I have only a VF25S Ozma and I like it very much. I don't bother the partformig aspect and the toy looks very good both in Fighter and Battroid mode (best shoulder-arms proportions of all the VF25 toys) Quote
