Syngyne
They're not really more agile. They move as you would expect something weighing several tons. That's why most of the Gears have wheels/tracks on their feet. The wheels are for speed, not for agility.
Ginrai
First off, the only thing Heavy Gear has in common with Battletech is that Activision did both cockpit-FPS simulators (And we all know how similar they were, too. A BIIIIIIG disappointment, when I saw this.) Only Heavy Gear 1 used the MechWarrior 2 engine (as did Interstate '76, a decidedly different game). HG2 was built from the ground up and really moved quite fast.

You're right, in that the HG-2 engine was a vast improvement, though.
Einherjar
The Stalker, Jenner, and Dervish look decent, the rest I wouldn't be caught dead piloting. I'm still conflicted about the cockpits usually being in the head rather the chest area.
promethuem5
VOTOMS > Heavy Gear I like HG, but there's really no comparison... the Scopedog is iconic, while the HG designs (which are just about all the same) are a blatant rip-off. The 'Mech write-up was funny tho...
