Jefuemon Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 60 cm long, and it'll only set you back by 210,000 yen Quote
gwfalcon Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Welcome joining, actually it was a hot topic around 1 month ago. A thread is specailly for the relative discussion. Quote
Kicker773 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 i believe its been already sold out Quote
007-vf1 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Not only sold out but the molds fatally destroyed and any future reminder of this project has been buried deep in the Atlantic ocean.. Quote
dizman Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Not only sold out but the molds fatally destroyed and any future reminder of this project has been buried deep in the Atlantic ocean.. I can't wait for the sequel "The 1/2000 scale Macross:Revenge of the Fallen" coming to a theatre near you in 2012. Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I think Bandai needs to step in and make a huge snap fit model kit of the SDF-1. Kind of like their Yamato kit, but without the cement/painting needs. I mainly want my SDF-1 to be interactive with smaller scale valkyrie, destroids and Zendradi armor. Barring that...I guess I now feel like a dork for selling my WAVE in anticipation of this thing Pete Quote
Vi-RS Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 someone already have their SDF-1 from yamato. Quote
logos Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Oh man that is so frick'n sweet! To all you bastards that can afford to fork over the coin for that thing....you suck! Quote
Renato Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 i believe its been already sold out What does this mean? I thought they were made to order. It's not as if they have a huge stock somewhere. Quote
Bariaburu Faita Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) What does this mean? I thought they were made to order. It's not as if they have a huge stock somewhere. I had the chance to visit the showroom last month with Save. From what the staff said they had a backlog of orders to fill up to feburary. So if you order one now it wont be produced till after those are made. It looks like they will not be taking additional orders if production backlog reaches april, so still some time to get one. At least for this color variation. My money is on more milking in different colors, finishes, washes, weathering, etc,... *edit* doh, looks like they did hit the production limit, site shows it sold out, so yeah he is right Edited December 24, 2009 by Bariaburu Faita Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Kind of wierd that somebody who bought the uber expensive SDF-1 shows it off next to a bunch of chunky munky Bandais and the lone Yamato VF-1 is the 1/60 version 1 Maybe he sold all his version 2.0s to afford it? Pete Quote
nanoplasm Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 After seeing those pictures, and comparing it with the Chogokin DX MQ, I really can't justify spending 200000 yen on that thing. Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Well to be fair, part of the problem with this thing is that it remains unpainted. Up close , the details are really nice... but also - the pictures, I think, don't do it justice because they are blurry. Pete Quote
Ivan Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I am quite happy with the Bandai Macross Quarter. Not that obsessed with big toys anyway. Quote
Bariaburu Faita Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 What surprised me is the large number of people that did shell out 210,000yen to buy it, the staff at yamato seemed confused by the demand exceeding the manufacturing capacity also. When I asked, they said the most likely scale of a mass produced plastic version would be 1/3000 like the old takatoku. Quote

Agent-GHQ Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Screw the 1/3000th! I was hoping to get a bigger one than the 1/2000th and willing to drop $3,000- for it IF the attention to details, accessories, and gimmicks are satisfied. Quote
Wicked Ace Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Kind of wierd that somebody who bought the uber expensive SDF-1 shows it off next to a bunch of chunky munky Bandais and the lone Yamato VF-1 is the 1/60 version 1 Maybe he sold all his version 2.0s to afford it? Pete Maybe this person has some ties to Bandai, paid big money for 1/55 scale Bandai Valkyries during the Macross drought, and enjoys some kind of price discount. Quote
eriku Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Or maybe like some of us they just like the old 1/55 Chunkies better than the newer incarnations? Quote
Kicker773 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 i guess i'm kinda glad a missed it, had more $$ for more mac plus stuff including the helmets =) Quote
miriya Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 This is really the perfect height IMO especially next to the other valks. Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 You know - I would be content with a smaller scalled SDF-1, kind of along the lines of the DX Macross Quarter (which unless I'm mistaken is....no-scale?) ... But what I really want is just a large scale cut away diorama of the SDF-1's leg with the city inside. I LOVE that city - and I far prefer the TV city to the DYRL one because of its' chunky 70s style goofy goodness Although DYRL was quite nice too... still...I see that in this guy's leg they went with the TV series. I was hoping to get a bigger one than the 1/2000th and willing to drop $3,000- for it IF the attention to details, accessories, and gimmicks are satisfied. Dude, what kind of moron are you? Where in the hell would you put it? Quote
Kicker773 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Godzilla did you pick one up by any chance? Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 looking at my Wave 1/5000 i'll happy and satisfied, and can surely wait till Bandai gets a clue and makes a TV version, something which i don't have! Quote
Dangard Ace Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Love the size and look of the 1/2000. Everything I imagined it to be and would have been lovely to display beside a Fort Max. Definitely not loving the price since I refuse to drop that much on any toy. Quote
Vi-RS Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Dude, what kind of moron are you? Where in the hell would you put it? There are lots of 6 feet tall figure in Japan, maybe he needs to fly there to meet with yamato crew to build that. Quote
D_Unit Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I've got more than enough room in my 7 1/2" x 3" x 3" enclosed diorama... and I would spend $2,000+ for a weathered-painted version (not just regular paint apps). But this thing is now a non-painted exclusive item. I'd rather pay for quality & quantity... not exclusivity. That and my horrific painting skills will quickly turn that $2,000 figure into a $20 figure. I'm planning on getting the Mac Quarter soon and I'm quite happy with my little WAVE. Quote
Luclin999 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 $2300 for that? And they sold how many of them??? I think I'll just stick with my 1/3000 scale SDF-1 from the 80's. Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 There are lots of 6 feet tall figure in Japan, maybe he needs to fly there to meet with yamato crew to build that.I'm more concern about bringing it back to state side! Quote
Godzilla Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Godzilla did you pick one up by any chance? Hell no. My wife would slice my balls off. Plus I am watching my cash. This put me way outta my league. I couldnt drop $2k on this. I just couldnt justify the lack of gimmicks and the non perfect transformation. Quote
