v1 1/60's armor on a v2?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have several of the v1 1/60 valks including the strike/super armor sets and was wondering if I purchase a v2 if the armor can be used on these as well.

The dimensions between the v1s and v2s are kinda different. It would take extensive modding to make them fit.

somebody did it when the v2 1/60's first came out. iirc, they had to gut the interior of of the v.1 armor parts then fill them with modeling putty or something.

Definitely not worth it then. I guess I'll have to shop around for at least a set or two of the ver.2s which come with the armor.

(this is what I get for buying all of my 1/48th and 1/60th valks and then ignoring the market for a couple of years).

the super/strike parts can be bought stand alone right now. the GBP armor is coming soon as a bundle with a hikaru 1J and as an online exclusive stand alone set.

either way, it's easier just to buy the v.2 parts.

Here is a side question - I have heard that people say the first run of the Ver.2 VF-1S valks had quality issues. Does that extend to the VF-1S Max movie version that was released last April as well? Because this was the ver.2 I was interested in getting from HLJ before their sale ends.

I've got it and mines fine.

the very first release VF-1S focker and Hikaru's had issues with their shoulder hinges breaking. by the VF-1S Max it was 100% fixed.

Thank you. It's good to know that and which ones I may have to avoid picking up.

Pity though, as the VF-1S Focker and Hikaru were the other two I was considering. I guess I just have to hope that they reissue them further down the road with better QC on the parts.

there's been talk that the latest issue of the VF-1S hikaru and roy have fixed shoulders (there the "plus" ones that come with flashlights)

i've heard that those issues have been addressed with the re-release of the roy and hikaru 1s. bit the bullet and got one, i havent opened it up yet (have to wait for christmas day), so i cant tell for sure if the issues have been corrected.

Well I went ahead and ordered the VF-1S Movie Max from HLJ this afternoon. If the figure lives up to all the hype surrounding the ver.2 1/60s then I'll probably look at picking up those Plus series reissues of the Focker and Hikaru VF-1S valks as well.

(and maybe the TV VF-1A Max)
