David Hingtgen Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Saw it tonight--better than the third by far, not sure if better than the second. Not as good as the first of course. Quote
EXO Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 thought it was crap. Gore Verbinski's last 2 were just as bad but at least the visuals were amazing. Too many elements that had nothing to do with each other. If the Fountain was so hard to find then how come all three parties had their own way to get there? I mean yeah gibs or whatever his name was got there through Jack's map, but it seems like that coulda happened anywhere at anytime. This impresses me more than the movie though. 1/6 scale black pearl in a bottle. It's a scale down version of a scaled down version of the ship! I can see the monkey! Quote
Fly4victory Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 (edited) Marvel/DC Pirates is the perfect answer for too many superhero movies and sequels. Just ignore Pirates 2 and 3 were ever made and 4 is not that bad. Edited May 27, 2011 by Fly4victory Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Saw last night, better than the 3rd one. This one and the second movie are the best ones for me in the series. Quote
Vermillion One Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Which 1/6 Jack Sparrow is considered the most accurate? I would like to find the one listed in the photo below, I didn't see the Black Pearl accessory listed in the contents on BBTS. thought it was crap. areaseven Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 The movie is supposedly doing okay in the U.S., but it's making a killing worldwide. Box Office Total: US$634,407, 625 Quote
Dynaman Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 The movie is supposedly doing okay in the U.S., but it's making a killing worldwide. It did pretty terrible in it's second week in the US. There is a chance it will bounce back this coming weekend though. Quote
eriku Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Which 1/6 Jack Sparrow is considered the most accurate? I would like to find the one listed in the photo below, I didn't see the Black Pearl accessory listed in the contents on BBTS. The newest version looks the most like Depp to me. It'll be the cheapest option for you as well since the older Jack figures go for crazy money these days (like many older Hot Toys figures). I'm pretty sure it comes with the Black Pearl in a bottle even though BBTS doesn't list it. Quote
EXO Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 If it doesn't come with the bottle then it might be a Sideshow Exclusive. Sideshow imports some hot Toys stuff and they sometimes have an exclusive version that comes with an extra accessory. Like Superman will come with the green kryptonite chain from the first movie only from Sideshow (or you can get it from an HK Ebay auction). You should call BBTS and ask before you order. If they don't return your call, try cornerstore comics. Google their site. Quote

electric indigo Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 For the enthusiasts, there's a 1/72 kit of the Black Pearl from Zvezda in the making http://www.zvezda.org.ru/?lng=1&nav=&cat=7&set=9037 More pics here: http://bruce-domain.blogspot.com/2011/02/nurnberg-2011-bilder-eichendorff-ii.html Quote
David Hingtgen Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Oooh. Though sailing ships have such complex rigging it's one of the few types of models I've never attempted. Also--plastic sails suck. And there's no holes. Surely some enterprising company will come up with aftermarket "ripped" fabric sails. Quote
Slammer Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 SWEET! now if only there was some crew... undead or otherwise... Quote
Dynaman Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Only $18 mil in third week of release. That makes it a good chance this will be the last POTC film (till they reboot it in 5 years of course). They will still make a healthy profit - but declining revenue like that is not what a film studio wants to see. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I needed SOMETHING to post this in, so here: NSFW. Yes, Michael Bolton and it's NSFW. But insanely funny, gets better the longer you let it go. Quote
mikeszekely Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I needed SOMETHING to post this in, so here: I love the Lonely Island. The first album was better than the second, but the second was worth it for "Jack Sparrow" and "I Just Had Sex." Quote
