kindredd Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, built this a few weeks ago...just got round to taking pictures. Must say its a fun build. Great kit too, amazing technology for its time. Now to finish the VF-1s gerwalk in the background Edited December 15, 2009 by kindredd Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Maaaa Cuuuu RoSSSS!!! ta, ta... ta, da, da. These kits sure bring back some very fond memories of the good old days. Nice work, kindredd. Quote
big F Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 That old kit is worth the bother, you did it justice. For something made 20 years ago. it still holds it own. Quote
jardann Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Looks like you did a great job on that kit! I've always liked it's proportions in all three modes, but especially Battroid. It really was an amazing kit for it's day. That gerwalk is nice too. IMHO, the stock nose and hands are the only drawbacks to it. Quote

Been a while since I built a glue kit and managing all the seamlines was an issue (really hate sanding!) Still, I cant avoid it nor can I accept too many obvious seams so its putty and paint all the way. Maybe I will work on some Zero kits next... Quote
Tack Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Love the VF1S! My recent work on the CF1A after being poisoned by Kindredd.....only I was lazy and didn't bother about the seams .... Quote
Tack Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 In Battroid mode Bandai HCM CF1A for comparison Anyone looking to part with their old 1/72 variable VF-1 kits please PM me! Quote
AcroRay Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Oh, that's gorgeous! A beautiful old-school gem! Great work! Quote
mojacko Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 classic....this kit survive so many years and it can still hold its own,...nice Quote
BlueMax Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Nice builds! the only thing i did not like about the non transformable ger-walk/ fighter kits is that the nose shape is...... wierd. Quote
Vi-RS Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 These Imai/Bandai kits are the best deal in 80s. Quote
MechTech Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 It just goes to show, ther's no school like the old school! The Imai kits were at the pinnacle of model engineering and still aren't shabby! - MT Quote
