MacrossMan Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Not sure if this is the right place or not, but it looked most appropriate. My son came up with the crazy idea this morning that he wanted the Macross Kite with a Mohawk. Of course I pulled out the clippers and went to work. Turned out pretty cool. Quote
polidread Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 and you just obliged him ? hehehe! crazy but fun! (does he go to school? hope the teacher wont disapprove!) Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Wish my dad allowed me or encouraged to do that to my hair back in the day The kite turned out great!!! Quote
miriya Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Great work macrossman! Good technique. Did you just use your clippers or some special tools? Quote
MacrossMan Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) Thanks guys! He gets to wear it just for the weekend because it would be too much of a distraction at school. I'll be cutting it down with a 000 blade. No special tools though miriya. I have the same blades and clippers that the barbers use. Just used the same basic edgers I use to line him up with. I'll probably let him wear it again for the Christmas break coming up. Edited November 27, 2009 by MacrossMan Quote
eugimon Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 So awesome, livens up my cold cold heart. I wish my parents were as understanding when I was growing up.. I remember I shaved my head once in high school and my parents thought I was on drugs and ransacked my room... Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Wow... Sucks for you, Eugimon. As for you, Macross Man, good work. I daresay I've never seen a Macross kite emblazoned on one's head. Quote
MacrossMan Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 I had planned on giving my son a 1/48 Hikaru VF-1J as a Christmas gift this year, but it is going towards something else so I have to do something else. He's looking forward to the holiday break so he can wear the kites in his head again already! He enjoyed every minute of explaining Macross to curious family members on Thanksgiving. The women he simply told "You wouldn't understand!" Too funny! Quote
