eriku Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 So is this a confirmed Bandai release? This is the same photo as in the other thread and I was under the impression it didn't say anything about Bandai, just "Hi-Metal". I think Bandai is a safe assumption, but I'd still like confirmation. Quote
Shaggydog Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 woopsie, didn't see it was already posted. delete thread as necessary. Quote
GRAND CANNON Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Here's the VF-1J Hi-Metal scan. Does that say a Feb 2010 release? or 2nd in the Hi-Metal series? http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam/article?mid=37116 Quote

jenius Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 My magic eight ball comment.... the third in the series will likely be a long time in coming. Instead we will see plenty of variants of the first two toys... complete with Tamashii website exclusives! (that's a sad exclamation point). Quote
CF18 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (May as well use this thread until a merge) Another small scan. I think this is why Yamato has been releasing their 1:60 VF-1 like mad - 9 VF-1 (& fast packs) in 2008 July to Dec, 17 VF-1 in 2009 not counting any exclusive or reissues. They know Bandai have the license to make new VF-1 starting at 2010. Quote
VF5SS Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Bandai is pretty late to the game. Yamato has effectively finished the VF-1. Quote
Graham Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The Hi-Metal VF-1 may be a great toy, but I have only the bare minimum of interest. At best I'll buy a single VF-1S and that will be it. Role on the Hi-Metal VF-171/EX, VF-17D/S, VF-19F/S and VF-2SS w/SAP and I'll buy multiples. Graham Quote
jenius Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 If this is 1/100 scale.... goodnight Toynami. Quote
Kyp Durron Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 If this is 1/100 scale.... goodnight Toynami. It's going to seriously depend on the price though. -Kyp Quote
Vi-RS Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Bandai is pretty late to the game. Yamato has effectively finished the VF-1. +1, I have every V2 release from yamato and I really don't see the point of getting them from Bandai, probably get the VF-1S as comparison. I've been waited long enough to see Bandai release a new mold on VF-1, but they never did and I basically give up Bandai with disappointment. The dream came true untill I see yamato in 2001 with V1. It was gorgeous, 1/48 was even better, but the V2 is probably the best VF-1 toy. Screw bandai. I think the Hi Metal VF-1 will probably same size as the 1/100 VF-19, which make it very likely in around 1/72 scale. Quote
ntsan Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 It's going to seriously depend on the price though. -Kyp And there is revoltech's VF-1 to compete too Quote
Vifam7 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 It would be awesome if it turns out to be 1/72 scale. But it's likely to be 1/100 scale. Which is fine by me. It's nice to see all of these choices in the market. Quote
Ivan Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The Hi-metal series seems to fit in quite well with the upcoming monster Also, quite a bit of macross coverage in the latest Hobby Japan issue http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-115372-1-1.html Quote
Zinjo Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 If this is 1/100 scale.... goodnight Toynami. Not likely. Toynami has a better price point than Tamashii's latest. I fear that the price will kill this line too... Quote

They've been neglected far too long! Edited November 26, 2009 by Zinjo Quote
Renato Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Bear in mind that last picture posted by Ivan shows the Wave lineup of 1/100 kits, not the Bandai toys. Just pointing that out to avoid any confusion. Quote

They know Bandai have the license to make new VF-1 starting at 2010.I don't think Bandai has an exclusive license for the VF-1 though. Chances are they just scored the 1/100, and 1/55 licenses, and Yamato is still releasing VF-1 toys in 1/60 scale next year.If this is 1/100 scale.... goodnight Toynami.agreed Not likely. Toynami has a better price point than Tamashii's latest. I fear that the price will kill this line too... Though the diecast content might not be high, I have no doubt in my mind that the VF HI-METAL VF-1 will be of significantly higher quality than the Toynami, so I'd pay up for it.It would be awesome if it turns out to be 1/72 scale.Indeed, it would be one hell of a modernized HCM. Speaking of Toynami I'm sure George Sohn would love these if these turn out to be 1/72.It's nice to see all of these choices in the market.Hell yeah Quote
regult Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 yet more VF-1, as if that was "the valk we were all missing"... Quote

lechuck Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Why have we adopted a second thread for this toy!!! I already opened one over the weekend. All it needs is its title to be updated. Quote

CF18 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Bandai is pretty late to the game. Yamato has effectively finished the VF-1. Exactly. They "finished" them so that they will not have their 1:60 and cheaper 1:100 in the same "just released" box pile. They may also have some agreement with Bandai to avoid overlapping release, so that they can release some Macross 7 units. High-res vesion of the scan - high enough to read the text. Quote
hutch Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The Monster, Tomahawk, and V1 together make a nice display. I'm curious what the final product will look like. Quote
jenius Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Wow... That additional coverage is awesome! More destroid goodness!! I wonder if Yamato is going to can their Phalanx since it doesn't seem due out any time soon and Bandai is going to be releasing smaller (ie cheaper) destroids. Quote

I wonder if Yamato is going to can their Phalanx since it doesn't seem due out any time soon and Bandai is going to be releasing smaller (ie cheaper) destroids. Those are scale models from Wave at 1:72 and 1:100 scale, not new toys from Bandai. Although I think the chance of seeing destroid from side-VF or Revoltech is above 0. Quote
jenius Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Models? Damn.... Still, more Macross is a good thing. Quote
Dobber Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The profile looks a bit off. I wonder why they are making the chest/collar area raised in fighter mode? Surely that's not necessary anymore? I thought maybe it's like that because it's a prototype, but after really looking closely I think it's meant to be like that. Chris Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I'll get the VF-1S to go with the 1/100 König Monster This 1/100 is looking good, but the Yamato 1/60 v2 is the end of all be, at least in my book!!!! Quote
