Wicked Ace Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I definitely want to see the progress on this one. Quote
Kylwell Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Very nice. I found those small nozzles can be chucked into a Dremel for speedier sanding. Quote
mickyg Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks for posting. I somehow missed this one, even though I've been asking you to post progress pics for a while now! I really like seeing the early stages this time. Nice work! Can a mod perhaps move this into the "building/customizing" forum instead of the generic "model kits" thread where it is now? I don't want anyone else to miss finding this one. Quote
Lolicon Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 So many excellent VF-25G builds. I'm going to assimilate all your techniques. Quote
Zinjo Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 You plan to turn that "G" into an "A" version? Essentially all you really need is a gunpod and brown paint... Quote

Lolicon Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Wow1 What a beauty! I might have to reevaluate my stance on flat finishes for mecha models. What custom decals did you use? Quote
miriya Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Awesome build and paint job. The colors are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Quote
505thAirborne Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Truly the best looking VF-25 so far! Color scheme is genius! Quote
regult Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I see you shortened the sniper rifle, may I ask you why? the original length wasn't aesthetically appealing to you? Quote
hobbes221 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 That is just outstanding! Nothing else to it just outstanding work, thanks for sharing. Quote
shinagami Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) firstly, thanks all for viewing and all the kind words...appreciate it Wow1 What a beauty! I might have to reevaluate my stance on flat finishes for mecha models. What custom decals did you use? lolicon, for the white edge lining at the missle pack(replacing the stickers) and all the blue markings i did use the gn-001 gundam exia decal from bandai, and for extra stencilings are from hasegawa's leftover decals from my atmo-booster project plus i bought some from mecha skunk decals http://www.mechaskunk.com/store-decals.htm I see you shortened the sniper rifle, may I ask you why? the original length wasn't aesthetically appealing to you? regult, its a stock sniper rifle, i didn't do any mods nor alterations to the rifle, just some non-canon color scheme Edited January 14, 2010 by shinagami Quote
shinagami Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) Awesome build and paint job. The colors are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Truly the best looking VF-25 so far! Color scheme is genius! the main body blue is a combination of tamiya xf-8 flat blue + xf-18 medium blue + xf-50 field blue with mix ratio 5:5:3 respectively for the yellowish tint at the leg armor pack i did mix tamiya xf-3 flat yellow + tamiya xf-1 flat black + tamiya x-19 smoke with mix ration 3:1:5 respectively for the overal color of the superpack is mixture of tamiya xf-20 medium grey +abit of black for the darker parts at the SP is mr. metal color #214 dark iron. for the wing SP blueish front is using tamiya xf-50 field blue the white portion is actually offwhite with tamiya flat white xf-2 added with a few drops of medium grey....i think that shud cover almost all the paints used in the g version.....any questions please shoot. i'll be gladly to answer.... Flakpanzer Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 This 25 is great the paint job is superb and the weathering is just perfect, not that much and is not clean also. Regards, Flak Quote
cool8or Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Same here, I didn't see this thread until now. I really love the finishing, this kit looks perfect to me, great colors, details, and smooth weathering. Congratulations! Quote
Weasel Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 That is a great scheme, better than the original by miles in my opinion. I have to say I don't like this VF in general but your scheme is changing my mind in this case! Quote
ryoshoko Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Wow, this is really nice. The colors compliment each other, the white outlines and white parts are a nice touch. Possible improvement to the outlook would more lighter details to stand out from the flat blue and grey. Great work nonetheless. Quote
buffalostyle Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Love your mix of blues to get what you got. Outstanding work, Shinigami! Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Well, not too much more to say, Shinigami, a great job and a great paint scheme. Thanks for sharing! Quote
