varitechs Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 It's a little custom but the result is very interesting More pictures on My Website Quote
nylcbv Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Awesome work Mr Bastien and see you soon... Quote
Ratatarse Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I still don't know if its name "monster" is due to the matchbox molds version (exception made of customizing work, Mr B ) or if it is because it has dark green cannons Quote
Roy Focker Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Lets see some pictures of it next to some other smaller scale Macross toys. Quote
AcroRay Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) Very nice work! Did your Monster still have its original cannon barrels? The closest I've found for replacements are Evergreen Styrene Products EVG 230 .312 (5/16) inch round tubing. It still requires a little carving to narrow out the mounting areas (unless you widen the part on the Monster itself). Edited October 16, 2009 by AcroRay Quote
AcroRay Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I still don't know if its name "monster" is due to the matchbox molds version The molds used to manufacture Matchbox's versions seem identical to Takatoku's tooling, from my own personal comparisons. It seems as though only legal lines were re-stamped, and a few tiny changes made for reasons of safety (sharper points removed) or economy (parts removed from Spartan for Gladiator). Quote

MechTech Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 That thing is basically 1/200. I had the Matchbox model too. It sure weighed enough! That mint green looking color is just not right - MT Quote
panzertank Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Damn I`d buy yours to the other. Excellent work indeed Quote

Ratatarse Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 not so dramatic, as there is no pro here apart from us I should go running now, I think Quote
Excillon Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I like it...don't see many Matchbox customs around. Quote
