anime52k8 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 a swimsuit like that begs to be cast-off-able, but it isn't. How disappointing. Quote
treatment Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) Not castoff-enabled? That just ain't right. Well, I believe this is bigger (400mm) and castoff-enabled: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-007522 Edited August 21, 2014 by treatment Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Is that one? I know the shirt and stockings are removable, but I'm not sure about her underwear. Also, if you get it, you have to get the the Elizabeth figure to sit on her ass. Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 question: which of these two looks better? http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-006118 1/8th scale, Ques Q, 12,100YEN on HLJ http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-004938 1/8th scale, GSC, 13,700YEN on HLJ Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 you're not helping. I kind of leaning towards the Ques Q version, she's so cute. Quote
Major Focker Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Ques Q. that expression is priceless. i'm surprised the other one is a GSC. it looks so uninspired, and the machinery seems like an after thought rather than integrated with the design. Quote
Marzan Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is it just me or are figures just getting more 'ero' by the day? not that I mind of course. Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Ques Q. that expression is priceless. i'm surprised the other one is a GSC. it looks so uninspired, and the machinery seems like an after thought rather than integrated with the design. yeah, I'm getting it, she has really nice curves and body lines, but the face is just so adorable and perfect, and so are the faces on the Rensouhou-chans. You make the other one sound like a Megahouse release. For the longest time I could never explain what I didn't like about megahouse but I finally get it. 90% of their releases look like they were sculpted and painted by robots, really skillful robots that do crisp sculpts and high quality paint jobs, but robots that lack the ability to translate emotion and liveliness into their figures. Is it just me or are figures just getting more 'ero' by the day? not that I mind of course. It's what sells. When I first got into figures, there where certainly a lot fewer sexy figures and the degree of explicitness you saw in "ero" figures was a lot lower, but even then the stuff that was the most popular and demanded the most money were always the most sexy and explicit. It only makes sense that makers are pumping out more of what people are buying up the most. Quote
Major Focker Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Is it just me or are figures just getting more 'ero' by the day? not that I mind of course. it's just you. you're just paying more attention now. c'mon. give in. you know you want to. Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) you know, I get it when manufacturers make multiple versions of the same character all at once, because certain characters will periodically get hot all of a sudden and there will be plenty of room to fill with different sculpts. What I will never be able to wrap my head around is when two figure makers do two figures of the same character IN THE EXACT SAME OUTFIT AND POSE. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005547 http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005545 So Max factory announced a damaged Kongo, then immediately after, Movic announces THE EXACT SAME FIGURE. Same character, same pose, same facial expression, just about the same price tag; the only differences appear to be that the Movic version is slightly larger and while the Max Factory one looks absolutely gorgeous, the Movic version looks like a figure released 5 years ago when it still would have looked poorly painted and sculpted. What is this I don't even... Edited August 24, 2014 by anime52k8 Quote
treatment Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) They should've gone full-WTF and have the same release-date. Just get Al Azif from OrchidSeed. Ami's currently only scalping for +1400y over msrp for it in A/B conditions... Edited August 24, 2014 by treatment Quote
treatment Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Is it just me or are figures just getting more 'ero' by the day? not that I mind of course. I think there's just more castoff-enabled figures now than prolly a couple of years ago. Also, better finished sculpts of various old and new characters nowadays, so the "ero" style these days are more interesting. --- btw, just got this Ryofu yesterday and still have no area to place her, yet. Couldn't resist coz only 3400y or so for a new figure with just minorly-dinged box. At any rate, is/was there a damaged or suke-suke damaged version of this figure? Both Kanu and Ryomou have multiple non-damaged/damaged/suke-suke damaged versions of the china-dress theme, but Ryofu and Choun only seems to have the regular non-damaged version at Ami. renegadeleader1 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Its like Rob Liefeld tried to design a Cammy figure then gave her the sword from that W.I.L.D.Cats chick he used to draw for the hell of it. Quote
Major Focker Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 lol! speaking of Wildcats, has there ever been a decent Zealot figure? btw, i don't think Liefeld ever drew Wildcats. if he did, i'm fortunate enough to have never seen it. Quote
