Dangard Ace Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Hey HK residing people, I'll be flying into Hong Kong for a few days near the end of the month and I'll be meeting up with a few members for shopping and drinks on November 1st. Anyone else want to go for drinks while I'm in HK? DA Quote

Staying at Tsuen Wan with a friend. Budget....eh. He's paying - less then $100usd. Seafood, Sushi restaurant/buffet....he definitely would like a sushi place. Heading out to Mong Kok now. Be back in abit. Quote

The best places for seafood buffet IMO are all in Macao, which is an hour away by ferry. Just visit any of the major casinos there and you will find a decent buffet restaurant. Prices range from US$20+ to 40+ per person. One suggestion is Sands Casino, which is located right next to the ferry terminal. Venetian is also pretty good but it's farther away. If you are looking for other types of restaurants in Hong Kong, try the website www.openrice.com That's what many locals use, but unfortunately it's available only in Chinese. Hope this helps! Macross_Fanboy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Aww, shucks, I'm already here and maybe there won't be valks for you to buy because I'll abscond with them and launch them off of our flight deck, hahaha. Check out Mong Kok for some good times, Wanchai has some great bars. Definitely eat at Ruth's Chris!!!! Quote

You may also want to check out Lan Kwai Fong on Sat night as there will be one hell of a Halloween party there. But be careful as it will be very crowded there Quote
Macross_Fanboy Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Yeah, I'm heading to La Kwai Fong and Kowloon and Wanchai to party tonight sans the costume. But first I have to buy some valks. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 Drove by there at 8pm. NO WAY I'm trying to get in there! haha!! Yun San Yun Hoi for blocks! Saw some guys dressed as Jabberwockees, a gorilla, an angel and a bunch of weird stuff. Looked like fun but I wasn't going in there with bags of stuff. Tomorrow I will be at Causeway Bay Animate at 2pm. Brown T with tiger on it. Tan shorts. Meeting some people there for toy shopping spree. If you want to join us you know where I'll be. Dinner plans, yes, but they're reservations. Hope we can add people but I don't know. Quote
scarlet512 Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 You're flying from Toronto? Go Leafs Go haha....... When will you be leaving? Apparently, HKU has some cosplay convention on the 15th. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 Last years triple A Leafs team was better then this years goon squad. Truth I haven't even watched a game yet this season. It was good meeting Graham and others. Found some toy places I hadn't been to before and if it wasn't for Cathay's stupid weight restriction I'd have bought more stuff. And the Pork Haque! After 3 weeks of seafood some red meat!!! I really need to hit the gym or ice after I get back. Found a scale and gained way too much weight this vacation. I leave Tuesday for Beijing and back in Canada before the weeks out. Take some pics of the cosplay and post them up! Surely will I enjoy them if any of the cosplayers look like any of the girls I saw running around in miniskirts and sexy knee boots all week. Quote
scarlet512 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 HK cosplayers are quite nice. Sometimes, I think they overdo it on the makeup but generally they're okay. Quote
