Funkenstein Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 Wow, where can I get that odd thing? Quote
promethuem5 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I'm looking forward to this and will definitely end up picking one up. I was never too big of a fan of my Revy VF-1J for some reason... it always seemed kinda boring, but a transformable figure as posable as that will be awesome. Super-articulated Gerwalk mode is going to be a hoot! Quote
sidearmsalpha Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I will likely end up buying one of these. Of course, I am a sucker for small, not-so-accurate VF-1 Valkyries -- I bought these afterall. I bought and still have those, too. They have their issues, but they're still fun to mess around with, and once you can get them posed, they look nice on display. Also, keep in mind that at the time, those were the only cheap, transforming Valks until Toynami came out with theirs. I don't see these Revoltechs being much better than the Toynami ones. And, are they coming with armor? If not, one more reason to pass on them. Quote
ShadowerV2 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Well... Max and Mirya 1J versions for me. If they make them. Quote

And, are they coming with armor? If not, one more reason to pass on them. I had one of the Convertors VF-1J toys when I was a kid, which was one of my favorite toys despite being fortunate enough to have way nicer toys. I bought the Banprestos knowing how crappy they are. As for the Toynami ones, they were an impulse buy -- armor is now on the way to me. I foresee the transformable Revoltechs as a future had-too-many-beers, click-add-to-cart type things. Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I don't see these Revoltechs being much better than the Toynami ones.I do. The Revoltechs I have in my collection have much better quality control than the 2 1/100 Toynamis. Not to mention the Revoltechs can be posed much better. Quote
ntsan Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Toynami's loose arm/leg connector = fail Quote
VenomMacbeth Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 is the 1J a custom or is it scheduled to be released, too? Quote
treatment Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) wow! great snaps. i might just finally get these revy's afterall. obtw, where are the FAST-packs for these? Edited November 26, 2009 by treatment Quote
CF18 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 is the 1J a custom or is it scheduled to be released, too? 1J will be released on February 15th. My guess for fast pack will be separate release with fixed fast packs, since I don't see any holes for adding them on. Quote

jenius Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I just looked at the really big pics for the first time and wow... there are some really ugly compromises there. I'm still looking forward to reviewing one as I'm sure they'll be dirt cheap. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 lol pretty butt ugly, but i'll get only one, and like Jenius i'm betting on a nice nice price. Quote
regult Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 easy to pass on them (they're VF-1s after all). saves me room for more interesting stuff. Quote
Funkenstein Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 This toy is becoming more likable. I think of the cost of a transforming Yamato figure, and see this is a nice alternative. Especially considering its half the price of something out of VF100. So in essence, its a real action figure, not one of those boutique figures for hardcore collectors. Quote
Alex Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Wow. The hands on this ARE kinda puny. Look like the regular sized RT valks hands. Quote
dizman Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 That thing is just plain ugly in every mode, it makes the toynami 1/100 series look amazing. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Agree with you that the 1/100 Toynazi looks better. Quote
VenomMacbeth Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 You know, I just got a Revoltech VF-1S and now I'm questioning on whether I should get one of these. I have no desire to own the DYRL VF-1A, but now I've got a 1S. Doesn't it seem a bit odd to have two Revoltech 1S Valkyries? Guh! I should have waited x_x Quote
Renato Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 These ones are much bigger than the non-transformable ones. There is a size comparison in one of the mags. Quote
VenomMacbeth Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) oooh, really? I'd like to see a scan! Please tell me they aren't comparable in size to the Toynami 1/100s -.-; Edited December 3, 2009 by VenomMacbeth Quote
Renato Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 If I recall correctly, the comparison pic can be found on the opposite page of the page CF18 posted. Sorry, I do not actually have the magazine. In any case, I would say the photo showed the new RT in battroid mode as being roughly one-third taller and wider than the old RT. (The hands might be the same, though!!) Quote
VenomMacbeth Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Aww, crap! I may not get one of these, then...if they're the same/similar size as a Toynami 1/100, then there's no point in getting one when the Toynami looks much better. I thought they were smaller, like the normal Revo VFs...which would excuse those horrible ball joints. Quote
Tober Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Angolz has pre-orders up. $27 each. Canopy/head-shield has to be swapped out. Revoltech Yamaguchi 082 Macross Valkyrie VF-1A Revoltech Yamaguchi 083 Macross Valkyrie VF-1S Quote
VenomMacbeth Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 You know what I just noticed? It doesn't have a trigger-finger hand....just a fist holding a gun... Quote
pondo Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 it looks like these are 13cm whereas the non-transformable ones are 12cm Quote
miriya Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 This is such an epic fail that I would not even put it in my collection if someone gave it to me for free. ... Someone would have to pay me to display this fugly POS. That is just my not so humble opinion though. No offense to those of you who like this "thing". Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 lol "thing", nicely put hahaha Quote

Someone would have to pay me to display this fugly POS. That is just my not so humble opinion though. No offense to those of you who like this "thing". We get it, some people like the toy, and some don't. Just like every other toy. What is the fascination with coming back to a thread over and over again to crap on something? Quote
Midi_Amp Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Seeing the finished products in high res does gives it a bit more perspective. The fighter mode certainly looks awful, but the batroid mode is very nice... The extra movement range seems to give it a more dynamic look. The same goes with Revoltech Arbalest, looked much livelier than Robot Damashii Arbalest. But I'll pass this for Bandai VF100 VF1, as cheap as it might be, I go for scale. Quote
eriku Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 The only thing I'm not too keen on so far is the 'crotch-thrust' look (something Kaiyodo seems to have an odd fixation with), but I'm pretty sure there will be a joint in there that will allow for a more rigid and natural pose. I can't wait to have one of these on my desk at work to fiddle with. I might wait for the VF-1J though. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 They should make transforming YF-19. Quote
