pondo Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'm buying my first vf-1 1/60. It's the roy 1s (on sale from over-drive) and I wanna get the attack pack stuff too. will they all fit on? also, what's the deal with duty here? I'm in Canada and have never figgered out when we do or do not pay duty on things... Quote
logos Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) Yes. All the Super parts and Strike parts will fit all VF-1(?) 1/60 V.2's except possibly the VT-1 and VE-1. I am from Canada too (Saskatchewan). If you order from Hobby Link, Overdrive and Hobby Search you should not pay duty on any of these items. They will list it as either a gift or a $25 diecast toy which will not qualify for the GST/PST duty. FYI you are going to take it up the rear for shipping though. Expect to pay between $30-50US........ Edited September 22, 2009 by logos Quote

False customs declarations are a crime, and HobbyLink Japan plays by the rules. http://www.1999.co.jp/faq_e.asp?Typ1_c=111#s8 In compliance with the law, the amount on the invoice should be the same as the one on the bill of payment. Thanks for the advice. (BTW, I did a show at the high school in your town a few years back. I hear that the film festival you guys do is pretty cool) Quote
logos Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) Yeah I order from them all the time. I check the invoice slips and that's what they list the items as. I'd scan and post it if I had one handy. I paid duty on an order from Hobby Link a couple of years ago but not any more. I know it is illegal but I ain't complaining if it saves me 10% on an already horribly expensive toy with horribly expensive shipping... Edited September 22, 2009 by logos Quote

The film festival would be better if we had a mulitplex though. The theater we have hear is older than I am and my Home Theater puts it to shame. Oh well maybe I'll go drain my sorrows in the Indian Casino......wait I can't do that or I won't be able to afford the VE-1 and the Virgin Road at the end of the month! Quote
M. Frost Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Oh cool, so the old GBP will fit the current V2? too I assume? Since there's not much difference, that'd save me a whole bunch lol Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Oh cool, so the old GBP will fit the current V2? too I assume? Since there's not much difference, that'd save me a whole bunch lol Wait, what? Are you talking about the GBP that was released years ago for the original (v1) 1/60's? If so, it would not fit. The sculpts are far more different than you think with different proportions and the V2 is taller than the V1 as well. If that's not what you mean, then nevermind. Quote

Guess I still have much to learn about These guys than I thought I had to. {meaning - Need to get more } Quote

I've actually had a beer at that casino! I arrived late at night and needed to find a drink in town! It was the only place I could find that was open! Quote
logos Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 HeHe.....quote "You know you live in Yorkton when the only way you can tell your not living in a small town is the Walmart, the 7/11 and the Casnio. All open after 8pm......" FYI we have a brand new Casnio now. Never been in it as Macross toys now completely occupy that "throwing your money away" slot in my budget. Quote
