Mohawk Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Hi there! This is my first post, and thought I'd share a pic or two of my first (and only) custom valk (so far) I went for a Miria/Zentran theme Still got a lot of work to do on it... Quote
PetarB Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I really like the colour scheme... I hope you're going to panel line, should make it really 'pop'. Quote
mitch Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Nice! Keep it going, I look forward to seeing it when it's finished. I also think that panel lining would give it some extra zaz if you are so inclined. Quote
gwfalcon Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Good job, Brah. More Pics and why not a Max type for completing a pair? :D Quote
Mohawk Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 thanks! I'll start on the panel lining today and have pictures up asap Quote
big F Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) The Chunky Mafia are proud of you Good job there and a nice alternative paint job. Edited September 20, 2009 by big F Quote
miriya Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I love the color scheme and the paint application. Nice and clean. Quote
Mohawk Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 I used car spray, but its not very resilient. And because it was made out of spares I made the washers that would normally hold the arms in place out of cardboard (until I can get out to buy some proper ones) Still haven't found the time to do anymore on it yet...but soon hopefully. I may well start on a Max Vf-1s to match in with this one next week. Thanks everyone! Quote
big F Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 If you can find it the best rattle can type paint is called Krylon, it is also called Plasticote in some counties. Plenty of colours and also a good Clear Gloss version as well. Good work and go for it on the next one Quote

Good work and go for it on the next one Ah yer, we have Plasticote over here - its a very 'fine' spray, and they do metallics etc too don't they! Might give that a go, seeing as I'm going to have to do a lot of repainting... ...because my model had a bit of an accident a couple of days ago and so I'm going to have to start it all over again. The paint got very badly damaged and chipped/peeled off in many places. I'd only just finished sculpting the pilot too Quote
