Ghost Train
I never get tired of watching this scene:
Mr March
Just saw this movie on Monday. It was amazing and a brilliant accomplishment of retro movie making. The filmmaking gags alone are worth the price of admission. The faded film, the boom mic gag, the awful color balance and contrast, the reused car crash footage (both of the WRONG car!), the phone receiver gag, lost footage and jumps in the middle of a chase sequence...I can't even remember them all. The acting was simply gut-punched funny and the dialogue was cheesy in all the right ways. If someone didn't know better they would swear this film was done in the 70s. Easily one of the best, most inventive comedies I've ever seen. If you're a film fan, you owe it to yourself to see this movie.

Kanedas Bike
Hater or not, thanks to A1 for posting. Wasn't even aware there was an animated pilot/show for Black Dynamite. Too many quotable lines to choose from so I'll just say this show will be Munaaaay. -b.
Agent ONE
Dude, you are such a f^ckin' hater. That pilot was full of at least 12 kinds of awesome. No I am not, I LOVE the movie. The nuances of the exploitation genre cannot come through in animation... I have to say though, I do not think this will be an anti-white racist show. Thats kinda nice. PetarB
Wow, this looks awesome. I loved the movie, it will be interesting to see if the cartoon can sustain the same type of humour.
emajnthis
The movie is nothing but awesome quotes, "HAHA! Threw that poo before i walked in da room!" The pilot for the cartoon looks good enough, i'm sure the episode roster will have some real standouts and some real let downs like all animated shows, but it's definitely worth tuning in for. Agent ONE
Wow, everyone else seems to like it. Maybe I'm too critical, which doesn't surprise me as I HATED the Boondocks (same people behind this). Here is something to ponder though. Black Dynamite is a parody of black cinema in the 70s... Austin Powers is a parody of James Bond... Did the followups of Austin Powers show us anything exciting and new? No. It was just the same parody all over again just a different scenario. I don't think parodies can have sequels, or followups.

Keith
No way man... Those are so departed from being parodies. You're going to tell me that the Evil Dead series is "not" a pardy on horror movies?...
anime52k8
You're going to tell me that the Evil Dead series is "not" a pardy on horror movies?... Not really. the first one was just a strait horror movie with a low budget and the second was more of a Dark comedy than an strait parody. Army of Darkness was arguably a Parody movie, but of the fantasy Genre rather than horror movies.
Dynaman
You're going to tell me that the Evil Dead series is "not" a pardy on horror movies?... They are funny, they are horror, but they are not parody - they don't really make fun of horror movie tropes. Not like the "Scary Movie" did (I did not see "Scary Movie", or any of the other "Movie" titles - the ads alone are enough to tell me that I would NOT like them)
kanedaestes
Scary Movie 1 and 2 were funny and enjoyable at least at the time anyway, but when the Wayans left it went down hill. I like their parodies such as I'm Gonna Get You Suck and Don't Be A Menace, but most of their films are throw aways. Though I am still waitinig to see if Fox will foot the bill for an In Living Color ruin, while it would be very expensive I think it would pay off bringing everyone back for one last go. Agent ONE
You're going to tell me that the Evil Dead series is "not" a pardy on horror movies?... Shawn of the Dead, is a parody movie, IE making fun of the poor story that the old zombie movies used to have with people just running and screaming from mindless half-deads... the ED series was action/adventure in a zombie world. Not a parody. Planet Terror was not a parody either. Hey man, I think you are taking personal offense to me not loving the Black Dynamite cartoon. I would love to see it succeed, as I thought the movie was totally epic. I just don't like the choice of staff on the project, and I don't think the same jokes all over again are going to make this show interesting. Nothing personal, I just think you're jumping the gun on the pilot a bit. While yeah it's following the movie, it also has to establish itself again since it's in a new medium. renegadeleader1
I was finally able get ahold of this movieand loved it! I also liked how one of my favorite "actresses" Justine Joli had a cameo in it, and had a rather long deleted scene dedicated to her! reddsun1
To his credit: Aaron McGruder is equally critical of just about everybody, not just "the man." Or as one New York Times article put it: he's "an equal opportunity offender." If anything, he seems to come down hardest of all on [the negative aspects] black culture. It takes some guts to make statements--through the voice of Huey--like: [bET founder] "Bob Johnson owes black America an apology." Or to insinuate that black folk today are so damn triflin', that if he were alive to see the state of things today, Martin Luther King Jr. would probably want to move to Canada. ed: I tend to concur with Huey's conviction of B. Johnson. My mother in law watches BET all the time; and I can't stand about 90% of the sh*t that's on that channel... Keith
Hmm, I had high hopes this show was cancelled. Shame. Tarnishing the good name of the film. No, you need to see this first episode. GMANIFESS
DAMN!!! That ep was awesome!! So many levels of hilarious going on. Well done. Considering some of the lame sh*t on Adult Swim, this show should DOMINATE. I think they even have the old Robot Chicken time slot.
Mog
I kinda understand A1's point: I miss all the gaffes and the low-budget look of the movie. (Maybe bust out more animation errors or fourth-wall breaking moments to compensate?) And if they keep using the "Who's interrupting my [insert phrase here]?!" bit, the gag is gonna get old real quick. As much as I like Boondocks, I don't want Boondocks-lite set in the 1970s. HOWEVER, any cartoon that adds the phrase "Whorphanage" to the lexicon is alright by me! Edited July 17, 2012 by Mog
Mog
Anyone watch last Sunday's episode? I know it shouldn't have, but that bit with the boom mike killed me. Also, Honey Bee's quote to end the show was classic!
reddsun1
I caught a few mins of it--that was the one about the porn star killer, right? Kinda meh. Initial response was: oh wait a minute, let me guess. Di*k jokes. They're gonna do di*k jokes in this ep, aren't they? Never saw that coming. No pun intended. terry the lone wolf
The only thing BET gets right is musical tributes to all the old Funk & R&B groups at their awards shows. Examples Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Isley Brothers, Patty LaBelle, & Earth, Wind, & Fire tributes. Although, I did enjoy the Black Panther mini series but 3:00 in the morning that's a little too much. The rest of the network can perform Harikari & Senpukku for all I care. As for Black Dynamite, this show is 50 Shades of Awesome & I can't wait for next week's episode where he bodyguards Richard Pryor to pay off his taxes. They should do an episode of BD where he time travels to the future & he crushes the head honchos of BET.
