Gubaba Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Another Macross related book/magazine just popped up in my email inbox: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOBK-1779921 It's a book about the upcoming 1/2400 papercraft Macross. Quote
xrentonx Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 So the entire book is Macross related papercraft? I'll pick it up if it's all Macross related stuff... Quote
Renato Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 No, it says there that the Macross papercraft comes with the book! The book is mostly about the design and stats of the Macross and Valkyries and has an episode guide of the original series, etc. Quote

Tochiro Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Those who passed the first round of auditions (i.e., who got shortlisted) for MACROSS Δ are starting to get notifications. One such applicant is Yuki, who can be heard singing here: http://joysound.com/ex/utasuki/movie/video/_mid_2035630841_index.htm The next round of judging will be April 26. It is not known at this time how many applicants mad the shortlist. Given that there were over 8000 of them, its likely to be quite a few. Quote
sketchley Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Great Mechanics.DX RIP! Welcome its replacement: Great Mechanics G! Same great content, now in A4 size. [publisher's HP: http://www.futabasha.co.jp/booksdb/book/listview/50200.html ] Macross Content: A micro review of the 1/4000 Hasegawa SDF-1 Macross [admittedly the stuff on the upcoming Gundam: The Origin is more interesting]. Kawamori's column "Listen to Mr. Kawamori!" is on 'travel' this time, accompanied by pictures of a fjord and downtown Dubai. Rounded out with a blurb ad for "Kawamori Shouji: A Vision Creator's Point Of View": http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%B2%B3%E6%A3%AE%E6%AD%A3%E6%B2%BB-%E3%83%93%E3%82%B8%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A8%E3%82%A4%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%81%AE%E8%A6%96%E7%82%B9/dp/4873763908 Quote

Tochiro Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Well now, this is unexpected. The newest Variable Fighter book is actually two illustrated stories. The first, set in 2039, is a prequel to Macross Plus that details the development of the YF-19 and includes familiar characters such as Guld, Lucy and Yang. The second story is set in 2068 and follows up with some of newer characters from the first story as well as an older Yang. Still have yet to really go over the text but at first glance there appears to be a lot more to this book than anyone was expecting. Quote

Tochiro Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 It's just been officially announced that the 8000 people who auditioned for Macross Delta have been narrowed down to a pool of 15 finalists. Will be interesting to see how the number is further narrowed down from here. (or will it be?) Quote

sketchley Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Dengeki Hobby Magazine's publication will be suspended, too. http://otakomu.jp/archives/251139.html (Japanese) That's sad - though on the flip side, it is transmogrifying into an online "magazine". For those that don't read Japanese: - last issue is the 2015 July issue - thereafter, it's going to move to the "Dengeki Hobby Web" site [電撃ホビーウェブ]. Quote
azrael Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Not surprised a bit this is happening. Online media is just too hard to compete with these days. Quote

Strumvogel Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I hate online media, I want printed material!!! I still buy CDs and vinyls by the way... Yup, this. The way things are going it won't be too long before you no longer own the music and ebooks you bought online, merely the licence to use them like they're doing with games right now. Btw, for the VF-2SS, they make any mention of it's fast pack + drones? As nice as the standard version looks, most people recognize it with it's fast pack on. At least to me anyway. Quote
