Some Macross F love spotted at a recent itasha (basically otaku cars) festival over at Odaiba. Could do without the crossdressing Sheryl though ^^;

(edited to add more pics)

This month's issue of "Cut" magazine -- basically the Japanese version of UK movie mag "Empire" (in fact, they often just carry translated articles from that publication) -- has a cover story on Macross and other anime.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/Cut-%E3%82%AB%E3%83%83%E3%83%88-2011%E5%B9%B4-06%E6%9C%88%E5%8F%B7-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B004Y0AIJ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306231646&sr=8-1

Lots of pretty pictures if you like that kind of thing. However, I hear that the feature itself is poorly researched and just outright wrong at times. I haven't gotten it yet, only glanced through briefly. I was going to buy it, but my friend basically told me "you want it? Take mine, I don't want it! Get that sheet outta my house!" :p

As I say, it might be worth it for the illustrations which I believe are all new.

I just picked this up today - has been a total pain to find. Looks like theres still plenty of Macross F fans around because even Amazon has sold out (that link only has 2nd hand copies). Mistakes or not there appears to be some meat to the article and Im looking forward to digging in ;-)

I was going to buy the magazine from CDJapan but they sold out before I got to it! Ridiculous yet kinda incredible!

It's great honor for Macross to get on cover of Cut Magazine, and I like the artwork too :p

I'm not that interested in the article itself but the interviews should be good. There should be those of Kawamori, Kanno, May'n and Nakajima at the very least! I hope someone can translate that stuff... :D

Quick pic I took while going past the local Pachinko hall yesterday. The Mac F machine is definately getting some promotion (although I doubt it will have any longevity unfortunately).

Found a clip from the movie. I think if so its looks like someone got in hold of a DVD Screener or a Telecine.

Todays issue of Famitsu announced DLC for Ace Combat Assault Horizon - planes designed in collaboration with Macross creator/designer Shoji Kawamori! The sketches they showed looked very YF-29 influenced.

Hot damn! Having played much of the Ace Combat series (AC2, AC3, AC4 and AC6), I'd like to see that, too. :D

hmm... not sure about it.

It's pretty awesome in the usual Kawamori ways, but it does quite feel like an ACE COMBAT super plane. It's too small and doesn't have enough engines to be the plane the kicks every other planes ass.

Umm...is that really Macross news...?

Simon Pegg promoting Max is close enough to Macross news.

Great Mechanics.DX 17 was released last Friday.

The Macross Pinpoint Mechanics column is missing. But there is an article on the equipment of SMS. Namely:

differences between the movie and TV series

VF-19 SMS Isamu Specification

Macross Quarter Variations (units stationed in the Macross 17, 23 and 25 Fleets are featured).

Apparently Bandai Namco registered a trademark filing for the title 'Last Frontier' on May 17.

Possibly another video game? I seem to remember predicting there would be another game this year to keep the hype going between The Wings of farewell and the 30th anniversary. looks like I may have been correct ;-)
