Gubaba Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 There is a PDF of the book floating about. Of the VF-1 book, yes. Of the three doujinshis, no. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/dou_mat2.htm http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/dou_mat3.htm This was one of those (many) dead-ends in my attempts to find Shaloom's sources. Not only does he cite the contents of the M.A.T. doujins, he also says that they are the oldest Macross Fan Club, continuing to this day. According to one of Shaloom's tales, after episode 20 of Frontier aired, many Japanese fans were expressing their outrage on 2ch, until Shigeru Gozai, head of the M.A.T., posted, applauding Ohnogi for writing such an excellent script. The other fans, chastened, also started applauding Ohnogi. Now, since we know Ohnogi had nothing to do with Frontier, this story is either embellished, or fabricated outright. After many, many Google searches (in English and in Japanese), I couldn't find much info on the M.A.T. doujins, except that they existed. This page: http://members.at.infoseek.co.jp/AZICON1/1980_S.htm has a few pics about halfway down the page). I can't find any evidence of any activity AFTER the "Sky Angels" book, however. So they may still exist, but there doesn't seem to be any info about them, in English or in Japanese. And no one seems to be claiming affliation with them on either the macross.co.jp BBS or the macrossf.com BBS. So, I can't conclusively prove they no longer exist, but it seems unlikely that they do. I'm 99% sure Shaloom just made up anything involving them. Quote
