Ladic Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. and Legendary Pictures announced today that Sam Raimi ("Spider-Man," "Drag Me to Hell") has signed on to direct the upcoming feature film based on the award-winning Warcraft® universe. Starting out as several award-winning PC games in 1994, the Warcraft universe is a rich fantasy setting that revolves around the epic conflict between the opposing forces of the Horde and the Alliance. It expanded into novels, action figures, apparel, comic books, board games and the famous multiplayer online role-playing game 'World of Warcraft'. The film will fall under Legendary Pictures’ co-production and co-financing deal with Warner Bros. Pictures. Casting and release details will be coming shortly. Raimi, Charles Roven, Alex Gartner, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, and Joshua Donen will produce while Robert Tapert will serve as executive producer. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/14695/sam...m-warcraft-film Quote

carzooyah Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 If it's anything like Drag Me To Hell, I'll pass. That one was surprisingly bad. Quote
Chewie Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 If it's anything like Drag Me To Hell, I'll pass. That one was surprisingly bad. Drag Me to Hell was hilarious. I think Raimi will do well with Warcraft. Quote
kaiotheforsaken Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 There is a lot of decent fantasy lore in the Warcraft universe. I hope they keep more on the serious side of things ala the RTS games instead of the MMO which is a little watered down. Quote
