David Hingtgen
I always knew Shuki Levy wrote quite a few cool theme songs, but never knew he wrote ALL of these: http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...mpositions.html And he's got the FULL versions of the theme songs, and in way better quality than the standard "youtube ripped from VHS" ones you find. MASK: http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Online/MASK_Theme.html Mysterious Cities of Gold: http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...Gold_Theme.html Inspector Gadget: http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...dget_Theme.html And a zillion others---pretty much everything but GI Joe and Transformers. taksraven
Aaaarrrggghhhhh!!! He did that bloody Ulysses 31 theme song. HELP!!!!!! BUT!!! On the website you have linked to the artist might include the extended version of the MASK theme but NOT the extended version of the Ulysses 31 theme which is EASILY FOUND as it has been floating around the net for years and it contains the brilliance of not one, not two, but THREE "Its me No No. Small robot you know" solo's. Truly classic stuff, eh. Go here to listen, if you think your ears will survive.... Taksraven

Valkyrie Hunter D
That's some good stuff. I could've sworn he also did the Bionic Six opening theme, but I guess not.
David Hingtgen
Just check your browser cache for the MP3s.
Syngyne
And while we are at it, best animated series theme here..... While iconic, that is not the He-Man theme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhGJE7TlFIY It is the total encapsulation of manly power. Why, I was once mugged by a gang of fifteen, and by humming the theme I summoned enough inner strength to knock them all out with a single punch. And I don't mean I punched them all once. I threw one punch and it knocked them all into next week with a wave of pure badassery. Also you never forget the lyrics to it.
David Hingtgen
...which is another theme Shuki Levy wrote. http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...-Man_Theme.html So many versions out there--this is like the 4th... However, for sheer "manliness" Iron Man season 2 is right up there with He-Man--he forges his own armor with hammer and molten metal. Renato
None of the songs seem to load for me. Shame, I wanted to see if there was a full version of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.
David Hingtgen
The version up there of Jayce does seem longer to me. http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...0Warriors-1.mp3

RD Blade
Very cool. I absolutely love the M.A.S.K. theme. But as far as 80's coolness goes (seems like an oxymoron), Galaxy Rangers gets my vote.
David Hingtgen
Then you'll want the extended concert version of the intro: Thinking about it, I think I had more MASK stuff than anything but Transformers. (as a percentage of what all existed at least)

Bri
Two 80s classics with a Scifi Wild West theme: Couldn't find a particular good sounding version but still awesome today: and that other Axis battleship: original OP Bismarck Peter Cullan narating the transformation felt so right. Scream Man
Themes this guy did that are awesome: MASK He-Man Inspector Gadget Cities of gold Ulysses 31 Incredible Hulk She-Ra Real Ghostbusters (I assume he just means re-recorded it) COPS Captain N: The Games Master Ring Raiders Samurai Pizza Cats Xmen Animated series Power Rangers Spiderman Teknoman i love so many of those. taksraven
Some of his stuff was alright, but I still think that the absolute king of animated TV show theme's has to be Hoyt Curtin. Not a specialist in any type of animated series, he did them ALL. For me personally, Hoyt's standout soundtrack was to Battle of the Planets. And what made that really good was that the also retained most of the original Japanese music and complemented it with Hoyts stuff. And when I watched the original Gatchaman, it was great, but I missed Hoyts soundtrack contributions. Taksraven

Renato
The version up there of Jayce does seem longer to me. http://web.me.com/toridori/Shuki_Levy_Onli...0Warriors-1.mp3 Thanks, David. It's not actually longer, or at least there is no additional stuff. It might just be some alternate recording, if anything.

David Hingtgen
I was right--he did several for Nickelodeon, including Maya the Bee, and Grimm's Fairy Tales. The latter has a quasi-Macross connection, as the voice cast for that is pretty much the Robotech cast.
JB0
Ya know, I've long wondered why they create second verses to theme songs. I suppose they intentionally ask the composer to overshoot and trim to length. Better to have too much music than too little, right? But it gets silly sometimes. He credits himself with the Legend of Zelda theme?I assume he means the cartoon version, which IS a unique, if derivative, work. Now if only he had a vocalless version... CoryHolmes
You all fail 80s cartoons. ALL of you! Duke Togo
I take that back, the voice over for Wheeled Warriors isn't the one on the show, and isn't anywhere nearly as cool.

sdf2501
You know, I was under the impression that the themes for a lot of those Saban shows (especially the ones that aired on Fox) were created by Ron Wasserman, and sometimes uncredited. Is Levy stealing credit for themes that had no credit to them? Or is that a list for any show that he composed OST music for? For example, I find it very hard to believe that he came up with the theme for The Real Ghostbusters. Edit: Wasserman's credits from his official site; lists himself as creator of many of the main themes on Levi's page Edited July 22, 2009 by sdf2501
David Hingtgen
I assume one did the music, and one did the lyrics. Or something like that.
