I guess the smoke effect parts are not included.

Correct me if I am wrong, the next re-issue of the GBP parts only will ditch the plume of doom effect?

The Itano circus version was a web exclusive is how I understood it. That's the version I bought, which does not include the VF-1J with it.

The version that most people got when it was first released in 1/60 scale came with the VF-1J. They are also releasing the armor as stand alone.

AFAIK the only one with the missiles is the Web exclusive version. The only real reason I got the Itano version was that I have the 1/48th scale set and wanted the visors to match :)

I bought the VF-1J seperately and it did not have the yellowing that some users were experiencing with the gift box version. I still should check it out for knurled shoulder pins though.

because the separate unit VF-1J or Super VF-1J have all parts manufactured at the same time so the colors is all even out.

The GBP-1S bundle set has brand new manufactured VF-1J head while the rest of the body is from previous manufactured so you can tell the different shade of white.

Have anyone tried to put the armor on 1D/ Vrigin-Road?

It shouldn't have any problem, should it?

Any photos would be great. thx :)

the chest piece doesn't fit any of the 2-seater valks, 1d included. The chest piece is pretty form fitting and the lower locks won't grab on the 1d body without modification.

Thx for the reply.

Damn.. I am hoping to get a GBP later and use it on 1D or VirginRoad... :(

the problem is that the top of the GBP chest piece is design to conform to the chest indent where the head sits.

The 1d chest piece cuts straight across so you would need to cut a section to allow the chest piece to properly lock.

Or... you could just pop the head off of the 1d and stick in a regular vf-1 body and call it a day. ^_^

Nice!!

Any advice on how best to achieve a 1/60 DYRL Canon Fodder VF-1A with GBP?

Besides the panel lines did you just simply plug in the DYRL hands from another valk?

Will the GBP fit a V2 1/60 CF?

How can I get a DYRL CF head???

Do you think UN Spacy would outfit a 1A with the GBP or were the GBP units quite limited by the time of the final confrontation in DYRL chronology? Any info on number in service? I just think it would look cool, like a heavily armed grunt, but I dont want to do it if its not canon or conceivably canon. The GBP briefly appearing in DYRL is a 1J right?

1. The hands that come with the GBP-1S armor are larger and have holes in them instead of pegs like the "normal" hands that come with the VF-1, so those are newly sculpted hands.

2. My Cannon Fodder VF-1J is currently wearing my GBP-1S armor instead of the Hikaru 1J that came with it. The armor is designed to fit any VF-1 body except the two-seater versions (VF-1D, VT-1 or the VE-1).

3. The only version-2 CF available right now is the SDFM version, not the DYRL version. The head units are different designs. You may want to check with one of the modelers here on MW about casting a DYRL 1A head in tan.

To mount the DYRL hand on GBP-1S is fairly easy, just cut off the peg on the dryl hands then drill new hole to fit on the wrist plate for arm armors. I think the dyrl hand is scaled to fit the GBP-1S armor too.

It says Hikaru's 1J, so it's supposed to be the TV version (he didn't pilot one in the movie). But as Omegablue pointed out, the visor is gray for this one... Which is not the TV version.

EDIT:

Just checked M3... The TV version has gray visor too:

EDIT2:

I looked at a lineart in Macross Chronicle, and the TV plain 1J does not have gray visor. Now this is what I mean by confused.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well in the episode it appears in, the damn visor changes colour numerous times in a few seconds. Though afterwards remains white... then blue... then grey... then white again. It's as if the animation studio got a new colourist for every frame... or was drinking. <img src="http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Though every other episode, the TV 1J does have the white visor? LOL

So in other words, this VF-1J with grey visor REALLY IS a TV Version. Right?

Okay, I believe I got a second release of this bad boy, though the shoulders seem "good," I was really sad to see that the "1" and other logos absent from this 2nd release.

Thank you Yamato. Now i have to use the sticker sheet, which in a way, is just as bad as bad shoulders - considering these parts were tampo'd in the first release. Am I overreacting? Has Yamato pulled this before in 2nd releases? Well, I supposed that's what the stickers are for.... :/

Anyone else had this problem? Did they run out of white paint? Did they misplace their number stamps? Did they have to even their budget for having to fix the shoulders/pins? What's going on here?

(jenius from anymoon.com says the picture below is all tampo, and no stickers were applied for his photoshoot. I've yellowed the parts where tampo is missing in my release)

I'm actually afraid to check the actual valk...

I personally prefer the gray visor, as it blends in better with the GBP armor as well as the VF-1J M&M's, which also sport gray visors.

I checked my newly arrived VF-1J Hikaru GBP set, and sure enough, the tampo's you highlighted were missing.

WTF?! We wanted you to replace the fricking exploding shoulders, Yamato, not remove the damn tampo's on the armor. What, are they hiring weed-smoking rasta's as production supervisors there? <_<

Yamato just can't seem to get any consistency going with their v.2 VF-1 releases.

though, i can live with that... better than a jaundiced valk w/ tight briefs and shoulder disorder.

i'm sure there will eventually be some decals out there that are close enough to those missing "1" and "101" markings.

In fact... It was mentioned earlier from Yamato that those tampo printings would not be on the newer releases of the GBP, such that you can have an army of GBP valks with proper numbering. You don't want every valk numbered 101, do you? :)

It is a nice thought... If decal is provided instead of stickers. (is it that they only give you a sticker sheet?)

well, i remember some local modeler mentioning way back that there's a way to apply certain stickers (like the ones Yamato provides) and then peel them of and have the marking/logo part remain on the model/toy. though i'm not sure if this is true. but yeah, Yamato should really start providing decal sheets for their valks.

Or they could get on board with the Bandai MG models and give us some nice dry transfers. Bandai was doing that 10 years ago...

I'll be honest. Didn know that was tampo before. That being said I kinda like it better without it on there. Yes itanot anime correct but I don't care. Haven't even looked at the sticker sheet yet to see if there is a giant 1.

Actually, no I don't mind. Wanna trade chests? That way yours can be any number you want. =D
