DarrinG Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hello for everybody! I am new in the foro. My english is no very good so... Any way here some pictures of my GBP on VF-1J weathered version: It's best to size your pics down to 800 or 900 pixels wide for this forum - if you have the means . . . Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 According to Yamato: 2010年1月 出荷予定 Just "January"... should be @ the 25th or so Thanks for that mate, can't wait!!!! Anyone else getting the foamys? Quote
Tober Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Anyone else getting the foamys? Yep. Overdrive have my order. Quote
Ivan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) The exclusive stand alone GBP armor parts are supposed to be out today. Edited January 27, 2010 by Ivan Quote
ff95gj Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) The real thing a bit better than the official pics, but the smoke effect is not very impressive. Edited January 28, 2010 by ff95gj Quote
takatoys Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 The smoke effect looks really nice on the Strike Valkyrie. But it has to be airbrushed to add depth, otherwise it looks like foam instead of smoke. Quote
anubis20 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 effect parts look awesome!!! sadly I have to wait for mine to reach my friend in Japan and then he has to ship them to me. Quote
DarrinG Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You can't tell where the missile stops and the smoke starts. They need a burst of yellow/orange for the thruster and then airbrushed or drybrushed darker gray as they go back toward the launcher . . . Quote
Mommar Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I didn't know those special smoke effects were going to be included for the Super/strike parts as well. Quote
CF18 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I didn't know those special smoke effects were going to be included for the Super/strike parts as well. I think he just used double-side sticky tape. Quote

Nice review and nice pictures, but I still like Hikaru in gray visor.... I think same box art but shrinked to one try size. Edited January 29, 2010 by Vi-RS Quote

Nice review and nice pictures, but I still like Hikaru in gray visor.... ... and yellowing body? j/k I think same box art but shrinked to one try size. diff box art... both 1Js in GBP... one w/ the itano missile thingys. Vi-RS Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ... and yellowing body? j/k On a second glance at the box, they might have placed the firing foam effect missiles in another tray. damn. They should have wrapped in plastic baggie and stick in the space in the armor tray. Quote

Darn. It's the same size as the VF-1J bundle. The flying missiles are on another tray, which is much thicker than it needs to be. Quote
Scream Man Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 i was going to pre-order the smoke trails, but I realised Id never display it that way, so it'd be a waste I cant afford now anyway. Quote

With you there. I finally got around to opening mine and was extremely fond of it (apart from the shoulders) but cannot see why I'd ever display it with the smoke trails. I love the idea but if I left it on shelf, I'd never leave it in that pose. Quote
DarrinG Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Great link! I'm shocked it comes in a real box at all. I thought it might come in a plain cardboard box with a sticker label or something. . . Quote
Vi-RS Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Great link! I'm shocked it comes in a real box at all. I thought it might come in a plain cardboard box with a sticker label or something. . . The missiles effect parts come along with standalone Armors parts, but no valkyrie. I thought they will have packed the missiles effect in a standalone ONE tray box to accomodate the future standalone armor release. The missiles could have been packed in baggies and attached in the armor tray but they didn't and place in separate tray by using the same box with GBP-1S armored VF-1J. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 fricken awesome hahahha i knew the foam would fit onto the strike, now there's proof! Quote
Roy Focker Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I got mine in the Mail Today. Looks good. I have it Battroid mode with armor. I won't be doing much before I have a spare pair set of shoulders on standby. First thing when took it out was to mind the Shoulders. It might just be me but the pin looked large and more exposed compared to my other V2. There was no cracks or stress marks but it looked clear just an ounce of pressure on the wrong spot might cause a break. I loosen the screws on the shoulder. Now it has some floppy upper arm movement but better that than a break Quote
fifbeat Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Okay, I've been skimming through this thread... A few of questions: 1) If you buy the bundle version (that comes with the VF-1J), you mean to tell me that they packed in an old VF-1J with non-smooth pins that make the shoulders break? 2) What versions of the standalone VF-1J have the fixed pins? What versions do not? 3) With the bundled version, is the VF-1J in the box as the fighter mode? Or battroid? I'm sure these answers are buried in this forum, but some quick answers to my three questions in this thread would be greatly appreciated. Quote

Yes, and the reason for doing that was that Yamato did not hear of any reports saying that the Hikaru 1Js had any ssuch issues after they were released, thus they assumed that things were going to be ok. 2. As far as Hikaru's VF-1J is concerned, none. The Max and Millia 1Js (released very recently) are suppossed to be fixed. 3. They are in fighter, like all the V2 VF-1s released so far. That means people have to actually transform the valk in order to put on the armor, and many people discovered at that point the ungly truth about the shoulders, with the G-man being the 1st, or one of the very 1st. It doesn't makes sense on cost to change the tray in battroid mode for this particular release since all V2 were started in fighter mode. Unless they manage to squzze everything in one tray with the valkyrie itself in battroid mode. Quote
Joz Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 "Chips off the old shoulder?" Okay bad joke... and sorry to detract from the conversation about damaged hinges, but guess what? I got my Launching Missile Parts today~! Quote

firmpulse Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I think the kit looks pretty silly... easy pass. should have been cast in smokey acryl then just painted the missiles white Quote
