You need to get that girl rolling into some good stuff now, try Gurren Lagann.

Tried it, she did not like it. She isn't bias on any older Transformers though, she's starting to enjoy G1 and is going to borrow Season 1. She thinks the Unicron Triology looks like crap so she agreed with me on passing, Beastwars seems tempting but she doesn't feel ready to tackle a poop slinging Optimus.

I've tried Gundam, both old and new and she wouldn't get into it cause she's not into space, she somehow thinks space is stupid ......go figure

She seems picky on her anime and her robots.

The thing everyone's missed is she's a girl of dateable age who likes transforming mecha. That's a rare breed.

My misses likes the films for the action and special effects, but still isn't in to macross because its "cartoons" and they are for kids. On the flip side she likes Dr Who and Star Trek so all is not lost.

My girlfriend however spent 20 minutes crying her eyes out during the big ol' shuttle sequence before chicago.......then cried a little more during chicago.

She wasn't the only one! As a guy I have to admit the scene at the shuttle before the launch, and the scene with Bumblebee toward the end in Chicago choked me up! It felt like that scene in Revenge of the Sith where order 66 is activated and the Jedi are killed, that really bothered me. :(

Even though in ROTS we all knew what was gonna happen it was still sad, I was still rooting for at least one Jedi to get some payback and survive. Yoda doesn't count by the way.

So I saw DOTM

Mind you I didnt pay for it and I enjoyed it at home. Lets say Im glad I didnt go. But I will admit its better than the second. But the second was so poo that movie needed to be warped to another dimension how shitty it smelled and therefore it doesnt really say much about the third

Here are my speaking points;

This is in regards to the Toys;

Jetwing Prime

I had been wanting to get this but

They are going for STUPID prices

Ebay

One has it at 206 cdn and shipping is 91.44

for a total of 297.44

the other has it for 284.14 cdn and 82.66 shipping

for a total 366.80

I am not sure a figure that is not painted like buster prime is worth that much let be fair in canadian prices its 50 bucks and the jet thing i dont think is worth more than 30 bucks. That brings your total to 80 bucks and 50 bucks should be enough for shipping since the BOX for both the PG Strike and 00 Raiser were 60 bucks to ship and were much bigger. So 130 shipped seems fair. Does takara know what kind of crackhead monkeys are selling this for. Even though Takara may not care this does affect their overall product image because people will not say look at that moron selling at that price but more so look at takara they think this is what their product is worth???

Anyway I will take that money instead and either get the new Fewture Shin Getter or Yamato SDF-1 seeing they wont be making a TV version :(

haha, considering, like, 5 people saw The Island, I'm surprised anyone even picked up on that. Surprised... but a sad, sad surprised.

Slag- I would probably spoiler tag that...rant

Aero- I personally thought Rosie was a better character and I was impressed with her acting overall. I mean, she wasn't going to win an Oscar for it, but considering it's her first acting job I was impressed. That being said, I never really understood all the frothing over Fox to begin with.

I had an experience similar to Hikuro's, my GF really enjoyed the latest film. I'm not sure she has seen all of the first before, but she hated the second.

For those thinking the trilogy's plot doesn't make sense here is what I make of it.

  Quote
It seems chasing the Allspark alone was hardly a plan right? And Megatron being Number 2 to the Fallen doesn't fit him right? Nobody commands the Decepticons but him right?

Thing is Megatron had a Plan. But it all went to The Pit thanks to Luck or Fate.

It all fits!

For one thing Megatron knew where the Allspark is going to crash because Sentinel Prime told him as he defected.

SentinelPrimeArkBio.jpg

The Ark with its sophisticated sensors knew where it was headed. Megatron went ahead to take it. Or Sentinel arranged its trajectory towards Earth.

But wait what about the Fallen and Sentinel Prime? The Fallen wanted every bot named Prime dead. Here's the thing Megatron had Sentinel Prime's death faked!

Megatron wanted to use Sentinel Prime to kill the Fallen. Consolidate his leadership on both factions by killing the Decepticon founder and having support of the Autobot founder.

They were supposed to rendezvous on Earth but Megatron got iced. Unfortunately the Space Bridge used after the escape malfunctioned brought the Ark at the wrong time or space. Or the Ark was too damaged to make it in time.

With Sentinel in stasis he never got a wake up call and the Ark eventually plowed on the moon.

Soundwave and Laserbeak who were in the know of Megatron's plan hid a sizable army on the moon keeping it secret from the Fallen and Starscream. This fleet were reported as looking for the Allspark elsewhere in the galaxy. Organized raiding the Ark of the Space Bridge pillars on the Moon and waited for Megatron's return setting up human agents around Earth.

The Seekers have been trying to look for the Matrix. Its so hush-hush secret the Autobots did not know about it. But Wheelie knows... And he worked for Soundwave.

Jetfire believe the Fallen was an bunghole that abandoned them. What if Soundwave did a little "creative accounting" of his own. These guys are listed off as dead. Hampering their efforts. And having little spies like Wheelie track them down so they wouldn't get in the way of the plan.

Saw the movie last night and liked it. But you definately have to check your brain at the door for these films. I did like a lot of the famous actors that were in it. I thought the plot was somewhat stupid, nut like I had, you have to leave your brain at home. The ending was very weak. I thought Sam's girlfrind did a pretty good acting for her first film. Highly recommend you see it in 3D. One of the best 3D films I've seen to date.

I have a question for those who have seen the movie: Did anybody miss Megan Fox or did you pefer Rosie-Huntington-whiteley?

Personally I liked Rosie's character better than Megan's. :)

Since they both are just “PG-13” porn, I couldn't care less. But substitute girlfriend wins over Fox in the “being treated more like an object award”.

When was Fox fired? It feels like the script they shoot had her character. There are just two mentions: "I was dumped", "I got something better" or something like it but other than that, you could stick Fox’s face and the movie would flow the same way. They never explain Newgirlfriend’s job but the dialog and scenes make it sound and look like a mechanic... just like Fox’s character.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on the "PG-13 porn".Rosie's "opening shot" did catch me off-guard :o and the "getting out of the Mercedes SLS" did also, but for some reason I still like her "character" better than Fox's. ^_^

I saw it yesterday. I agree with almost everyone's complaints/gripes. Carly was like able at first. But then I realized how stupid she was and lacked common sense. I also have trouble believing she could convince a giant robot whose probably been alive longer than her parents.

But mainly I think the editing could have been better. As in less gratuitous shots of nothing.

Dempsey made it sound like she organized the collection. But I have a hard time believing that if his character runs an accounting firm.

Got back from seeing it in imax3D

Can't say it's a "good" movie but I had a blast. Are there problems? Sure, of course. Most likely, everything bad you've heard about this movie is spot on. Is it too long? Yes. Are there editing issues? Definitely. Are there plot holes? The holes have holes. Was it awesome? Yes.

Went with a friend today. This was a very boring film for me. That last act just kept dragging on and on.

Liked the first one that everyone here hated, liked the action of the second film but, hated the plot. This final one....was just weird and boring.

Not a TF fan though, so perhaps thats why I dislike the one that people like.

Edit: The 3D was a turn off for me (no 2d version where I was) so that probably added to my dislike.

I saw it this week in IMAX 3D. First half was OK, Chicago part & deaths of major characters were portrayed in ABSURD & dumb manner.

So....DOTM's only marginally better than ROTF, and that doesn't say much at all.

The 2007 TF movie is still the best out of the 3.

Is there such a thing as 3D fatigue?

I don't know if is only me, but on TF3 there were only a few scenes where I *really* had the 3d feeling.

Cyberton scene on the beginning and the wing-suit strike...

I wonder if there's anything to the fact I wear glasses, or if after a few minutes my eyes are adjusting to "normalize" the 3d effect.

Same thing with Tron... I was so disappointed that I could barely see any 3d at all.

You might be on to something. I wore my glasses in avatar and after a few minutes, I didn't notice any 3D.

edit:

then again, I have a slight astigmatism on my right eye. Dunno if that has anything to do with it.

There's a thread for that. According to Box Office Mojo, 60% of this movie's gross came from 3D sales, surprisingly, but yet still down overall. So yes, people are tired of 3D, even Baysplosions in 3D.

Saw it yesterday...could have just waited for Netflix. Honestly I think HP 8 pt2 is going to save these summer "blockbusters" of 2011. <_<

I'll watch a cam version....sounds like it might hide some of the flaws.

I thought the movie was pretty good (saw it in 3D), but there was one thing that really irked me:

Rant Over :)

I'm definately confused by what happened. It definately looks like scenes were storyboarded, but whole chunks of scenes do definately appear to be missing. Did they decide it was worth trimming down the runtime so we could see people sliding around in a falling building for half of an hour (that should have taken 5 minutes tops, if that). Did they run out of budge to work out Sentinel's transformation? I mean really, we see a truck driving, then for no reason he's in robot form, then for no reason he's a truck again. I woudln't doubt if someone saying "hey the movie's too long, we've gotta keep these human effects shots in, so just trim some robot stuff" was in charge of editing. Aside from that, my only main gripe is the same gripe I always have. Robot dialogue aside from Optimus is equal parts stupid & detatched from any human dialogue. It's like no on ecan even understand them in the first place, because no one is even remotely reacting to any robot dialogue (again, aside from Op & maybe Megs). And new chick has a weird mouth, but then that's not her fault.

Also, Dutch (Alan Tudyk) was hilarious beyond words.

Now I can't wait for toys of Soundwave and Mirage. I'd also really like to see Deluxe size versions of the other wreckers besides Crankcase.

Looking forward to dino and sound wave figs. Hope they really are the car brands used and not some made up hybrid.
