Well, lots of interesting points to address.

First, NugundamII is right about one thing, "hate/rant/hate" aside - but it IS true that the fandom brought Transformers back to life just prior to 1996, when the Beast Wars aired. I mean - I remember that. That was a dark time for TF fans because the G2 comics were a flop, there hadn't been a new cartoon since 88, and the Internet was just getting started, so often times a fellow felt alone. But the fandom organized, came together, produced some great fanfiction and fanzines, and Botcon and got the ball rolling and Beast Wars was born - to varying fan reaction but... I certainly believe the driving force was the fandom, and not the "mass market" - although at that time "enviro-animal-warm-fuzzy-crap" was kind of more in and the industrial gas guzzling was out, so maybe that influenced why Hasbro went with animals? I dunno...

In any event - Eugimon is on the other hand right that fans (and I participated in this sadly) let the franchise go to hell by supporting every stupid line Hasbro managed to puke out. I should never have bought Armada, Energon and Cybertron toys by the bucket loads. I did it ONLY because they "were Transformers" and without thinking.... I happily sold the stuff long ago - but really - the series were aweful, the toys were craptastic... and the franchise basically went down the toilet because of it.

Not right away - not immediately - but slowly - ever so slowly the life was sapped out of it and the whole thing just became poo.

As for Meghan Fox and hating on cute girls:

I don't resent her stardom and sure I'd love to have sex with her. I also think she did fine for her role in Transformers.

My problem with Transformers the Movie has very little to do with Meghan Fox - or any of the other human characters for that matter.

My main gripe - as I've always made clear - are the aweful toys.

Yawn...

anyways...maybe one day I'll get around to watching ROTF....

(Guys please note I my grammer may be off. I have had insomnia for 3 months and getting only 3 hours sleep each day...that being said im noticing im barely operational)

See...as a fan being critical doesnt mean you dislike the thing you like but quite the opposite. Its only through imperfection we make progress to perfection

I didnt buy every toy each from each of the lines had to offer. But their were gems

Ill give a couple.....Armada

Unicron. One of the mainstays of Transformer Folklore. It is an integral character that didnt need constant presence. It was in BW and BM

Having made it to Toy form was awesome. While 97% of the Armada toys were not worth it it did try to mass market vehicles to a younger audience with its designs. Again americans being cheap in a sense to gain every penny from their consumers while giving them the least in quality the cartoon was poorly made. Animation was poor story was so so. Why not have the same mature writing team from beast wars and same animation style. The japanese would not do that. Look at Macross and Gundam. They try to improve on both and design as well. But I proudly display my unicron, which doesnt look too kiddish like the rest of the armada toys. Also we have the minicons. I think these are great sine basiclly they are transforming gasphon toys

Lets not forget RID

When I saw JRX OP Fire Truck I was gitty as a school girl

Fire Convoy was an awesome looking toy

And the complexity of the Car brothers was also great

But Armada did asist in generating another new line Energon.

Not a great line but a Big improvement in Vehicale toys (rid is the exception cause the engineering is sensational) Post G1 era.

Some gems here too. Starscream with that funky upgrade to the G2 versian, Sharkticon, Slugsinger, Landmine and the Decipticon Boat which to me looked like a gundam

Then you had a flurry of combiners yes who were limbless. but individually were great.

That further propelled to Cybertron which again leaving RID aside was the pinnacle of early 2000 toys.

I lover about 75% of the toys from this line. Come on we have a VERY DETAILED AND BEAUTIFULLY designed Plant Cybertron that transforms!!!!!

Then the movie toys which some were pretty good. But mostly left to the Autobot faction. It seemed the bad guys dont get an love.

Even the T2 toys were not bad. The mixing truck is a real beauty along with the remold of Prime. We have Ironhide, Ratchet and HA skids albeit the goofy face and BB.

Americans can make good transforming toys but they let a lot of things slide too. Yes Tranformer movies were cool as long as you can see robots transforming and fighting and The americans beat the japanese to the punch with live action, I would have prefered a beautifully animated Movie with a very solid story OVA. I dont know something from gainex or Ghibli or even sunrise.

Look at what we have Alternators Music Label THS Master Piece. there are a lot of gems. As a fan you need to be selective..Anyho im tired

im going to try to sleep

good morning

I'm afraid I have some negative comments on TF3. I totally agree with Graham back a few pages, but my hopes, along with his, will never materialize. Our only hope is a remake maybe 10 or 15 years down the road.

MB has got to go, that's for sure. Megan Fox is hot, but she's a moron that can't act. I mean, she's probably a really nice person, and if she came to me, begging for sex, I certainly wouldn't kick her out of bed, but I don't want to see her in the next movie. I think she's more appropriate in a movie like, oh, I dunno, Pornformers? And the guy that plays Spike has got to go. All of his dialogue can be summarized with "No! No! No! No! No!".......

Why does Prime have a spinning bagel behind his metal lips? He has a face shield for a reason, so no one can see such a stupid thing. I'd rather have the shifting face shield then the spinning bagel. More robots, less humans.

The only jive-talkin' bots should be Jazz and Blaster...kill the twins. It's a shame the Scatman isn't around anymore....he MADE Jazz. If this video can be made by some fan, they can certainly bring Jazz to the big screen as he should have been, voice-over and all. I don't care if they have to sample clips from all the original cartoons:

Also, less broken metal shards posing as robots.

Whew......did I leave anything out?

I have a totally different idea:

Give up on trying to actually do a good job with Transformers and instead focus the movie on Sam's mom.

The Autobots have trampled her grass, and so she calls a company to send someone over right away to clean everything up. The guy who comes over goes to work, and Sams mom really likes him.

You know the rest :)

I think that if this was the plot of TF3, I'd take back all the bad stuff I've sad about the movies beforehand.

Optimus Prime to not get punked. And Dinobots. Designs closer to G1 would be very nice... they can stilll have all their intricate kibble and what not, especially in alien form.

Galvatron and Rodimus would be nice, too. No Witwickys at all, please. Megan Fox in a string bikini.

Seeing Chip in the next flick would be nice. It would satisfy the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), that's for sure. Hopefully his debut in the movie will be a lot like the G1 cartoon (remember when he hacked into a willing Prowl to take care of a couple of Seekers? B)) ).

Latest casting developments:

- Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will reprise their roles as Sam and Mikaela, respectively. Tyrese Gibson will also return as Sgt. Epps.

- Kevin Dunn is in negotiations to reprise his role as Ron Witwicky.

- Ray Park (Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) will star as a N.E.S.T. agent.

- This film is nothing without Peter Cullen, so having him return as Optimus Prime is a given.

- Tony Todd returns...as The Fallen? Hey, Megatron came back from the dead on the last film, so why not?

- James Avery (Phillip Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) will be the voice of Silverbolt.

- DreamWorks and Paramount are holding auditions for people to play Iranian soldiers.

Optimus Prime and Bumblebee's Character Models to Undergo Minor Visual Changes for Transformers 3 - Bumblebee is said to look more mature while Prime will look more heroic. Whatever that means.

But one thing's for sure: new TF toy designs to churn out. Now how would Hasbro outdo the ROTF Leader Prime figure?

It hopefully means no more gay ass lips for Optimus, and all mouth cover all of the time!

Also going by the Batman franchise, "more mature" Bumblebee means he'll have a penis.

I think prime being more herioc means he will be like an action star who singlehandedly rescues all the autobots without any help while making it all look easy to the others. Prime is the perfect leader while the others are mostly ordinary guys who try their best.

Nah it probably just means more flames on his body.

And keith I thought you liked robots with faces on them? (basaras valk for example) Does it reverse for the transformers world? The battlemask idea is a good one though. This way it makes the good guy less menacing but when they fight it offers protection for the face. (still can't find human alliance bumblebee in the department and toy stores where you can have him with or without the battlemask on)

I think the decepticons are better with helmets and masks, because they don't need to emote as much but the good guys should be displayed without them (unless fighting) so as not to make them too scary. Prime has covering because he was built as a battle robot in g1 so it suits him imo.

Oh, goody. More unfunny Bayformers "comedy" performed by an otherwise really good actor (cf. John Turturro). <_<

John Tuturro is a good squishy to have in the film. Much more amusing than Wheelie. But every squishy they cast in this film is one less hope I have of seeing the Headmasters this time around...

You know, it would have been so simple to make the twins work. Have Shawn & Marlon Wayans both play them, and write the jokes. But no, somehow Spongebob was a better idea!?

I noticed something - historically, the third installment of a film series has almost always been the worst of the bunch, or otherwise has led the whole series to a painful demise. Here are a few examples:

Alien 3

Austin Powers in Goldmember

Batman Forever

Beverly Hills Cop III

Blade: Trinity

Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles

Death Wish 3

Die Hard with a Vengeance

The Godfather Part III

Home Alone 3

The Karate Kid, Part III

Jaws 3-D

Jurassic Park III

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

The Matrix Revolutions

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

The NeverEnding Story III

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Rambo III

Resident Evil: Extinction

Rush Hour 3

Shrek the Third

Spider-Man 3

Superman III

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

X-Men: The Last Stand

Of course, there have been a few exceptions such as:

Back to the Future Part III

The Enforcer

Goldfinger

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Rocky III

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Will Transformers 3 suffer from the "third movie syndrome"?

Finally, some good news for the film...

The Twins Won't Be Back in Transformers 3

You do realize this is Liar Bayscream we are talking about?

Debunked.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/chevrolet-spark-transformers-3.html

Skids and Mudflap as Chevy Sparks.

We've been there before with Bay saying Megatron wont be in ROTF.

Though TF 3 does have a plot began in ROTF. Humans like Galloway not liking Autobots.

The genie is out of the bottle and there is anti-Autobot sentiment.

Is it really THAT hard to make a movie about robots kicking the crap out of each other without unnecessary distractions?

i heard the story in the new Transformer game was at least decent :-)

the TFW2005 forums have videos and pictures of the twins vehicles during the movie shoot....i have a feeling they will be back ^_^;;

I'll have disagree with you on blade trinity,Batman forever and resident evil extinction. Blade 2 sucked the only redeeming qualities it has are Ron Perlman and Donnie Yen. Batman forever is in a completely different category when compared to Batman and Robin. And all the resident evil movies suck.

You're a bit mistaken as there were no movies made after the first one. Period.

Viacom/Paramount claim fans recording the making of Transformers 3 violates copyright.

Make sure to check out the YouTube video showing a scene from Transformers 3 being shot before it's taken down. :p

Just to paraphrase and make fun of the title on that page:

Yet again, the internet police strike again and point out that it's a terrible thing to try and keep secret your own intellectual property because "hey man, freedom of speech and roll a doobie, bro."
