anime52k8 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 OMG another Weathering!!! Eww, it's all dirty... So are they going to do weathered versions of EVERY characters? I wouldn't waist my money and I like my 1S nice and clean better in any case. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 meh... just got my 1S Max and i like it just the way it is... wait... what happened to the weathered VF-1J? i don't see it on Yamato's website... Quote
Nightingale Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 How muchy??? According to the scoopda thread, 14800 yen. Quote
mr.chogokin Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 That's not too bad... I saw the 1J Hikaru version going for $265 in Ebay! Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Hmmm, i'd consider this one... now, need to fix the money problem! Quote
Dashgtr Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 I think this is the Yamato Online special for members. Where as for the VF-1J is the Hyper Hobby special. Quote
General Chaos Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 meh.. I'm having fun weathering my own random valks and completing squads to bother getting their uniformly weathered limited editions. Quote
MilSpex Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 These weathered versions are kinda cool imo. They remind me of the battle damaged X-wing I had when I was a kid. Quote
Alain Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 If this was not overdone, might consider it. but between this and a clean valk, Il choose the normal one any time of the day Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 The heavy weathering actually works well for Max. But it still doesn't do it enough for me to warrant purchasing this version. Quote
ghostryder Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 They should include a bunch of blast holes in the fuselage and a pair of clipped wings with a weathered Max 1S... and how about an equally messed up Q-Rau and Milia?? Quote
MacrossMan Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 At least the weathering is done nicely or at least takes better on Max and isn't over priced. Meh, I could probably pass on this one. Haven't even taken my current Max out the box yet. Quote
jenius Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 When they make a Weathering Roy, I'll buy that one (unless it's super hard to get ultra exclusive/expensive). Otherwise these are pretty expensive and easy passes for me. I will keep buying the weathering edition destroids though, I think those are fun and a little less scary to handle than a transformable toy. Quote
Kicker773 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 pass..the closest i've been to picking up the new 1/60 was the weathered tomahawk that came in with my books... i'm with jenius on this one. Quote
Talonvar Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Ouch! Yamato is gonna punch my wallet dead >.< Looks nice though! Quote
fifbeat Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Eh? That thing looks weathered and clean at the same time. Doesn't make any sense. Quote
GRAND CANNON Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Yamato site states will be limited to 300 pieces and Fan Club members can pre-order beginning June 19: June 6 will ship in 2009 Tentative price 15,540 yen (tax included) (Price unit: 14,800 yen) (156 points) 3 has been released in 2009, "1 / 60 complete deformation VF-1S-Max" will be made on a special aircraft paint UEZARINGU. Due to the production of "300 pieces only," It is a small production, and thank you to not miss this opportunity. The popular painting UEZARINGU 1 / 60 complete deformation in the VF-1! â—† Ultra-rare items UEZARINGU is hand painted in bright factory workers. Color and a delicate touch. Due to work carefully to not only 2-3 because of a production unit, we have a limited number. Quote
Jasonc Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I'll PASS!!! Not that weathering isn't cool, but the generic weathering they put on it just looks fake. If it looked more realistic (afterall, that's the point of the weathering), I'd be on it. Just doesn't wow me. Quote
geepogi Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 â—† Ultra-rare items UEZARINGU is hand painted in bright factory workers. so how do they select the bright ones? IQ test maybe? This is pass for me. Yamato hurry up the VF-0D! Rather than wasting your time on this mundane repaints! Quote

izzyfcuk Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Doesnt' matter what type of exclusive they throw out...... first round here states that it's 300pcs.......... Then club members can start ordering next round they'll just re-release it again. not forgetting.............they way they are right now, i would not be surprised if distributors can order as many as they like........ heck the fan racer is all over the shop locally Quote
m0n5t3r Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) i've been wondering about this for a while now... how much do stores/distributors sell these limited items for? can't they sell them at the same price as what's on the website?... or is it that they don't get their usual "wholesale" price since the quantities are limited? what i've noticed for the limited 1/48s is that stores sell them +100-ish USD more than the website price... Vi-RS Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I think limit 300 units is marketing talk to drive you buy that sucker. Quote
wwkkim Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Pretty sure that the 300 limited crap is all BS. I think they will not release Max again, (due to having stated "limited~"). However, they sure will release weathering variation for every single one of the valks that there's no point of "exclusive" anymore.. Quote
ShadowerV2 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 so how do they select the bright ones? Probably by turning off the lights. Anyhoo. I would like a weathered Hikaru 1S. As for Max. I would only get his 1J. Quote
Vi-RS Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 According to the scoopda thread, 14800 yen. I was trying to ask a price from Overdrive for a group buy of 3 with my homies and found this: 3 x Weathered 1/60 VF-1S Max Ver 3 x 15440 yen ($157)=$471 Shipping Charges and Cod Bill (To Us) $10 Service Charge 11000yen ($112) Shipping Fees $76 Total Amount $669 So they are charging service charge of $112 for to get these and turns out $669, which means $223 for each weathered Max..... Quote
jenius Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Um, is it the $112 that's bothering you? Let's say OD was a charitable case and didn't charge for services, your total would still be $187 each! Quote
