CF18 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 More photos: http://ga.sbcr.jp/mprize/012977/ F and S in October, G and R in November. No price info yet. I expect < 1500 yen range. Quote
Vostok 7 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) Fighter only??? YAY!!!!! They seem small though, like the 1/250 line they announced but more detail? Interesting. Either way, if they're any good (basically, NO PVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least not on the wings, gunpod, anything else that could end up wonky and look terrible) then I am SOOOO THERE. Vostok 7 Edited May 27, 2009 by Vostok 7 Quote
Vifam7 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) Too bad it doesn't come with landing gears option. No matter. Must have. It says approximate length is 13cm. What scale would that be? Too lazy to do the math... Edit: Ah, near 1:144 Edited May 27, 2009 by Vifam7 Quote
anime52k8 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) they're so soft and gashopon-ish and lacking in crisp detail... pass Edited May 28, 2009 by anime52k8 Quote
Cent Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 yea they look kinda gummy and blurred. i prefer more crisp paint detail. Quote
macrossnake Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 there so soft and gashopon-ish and lacking in crisp detail... pas Agree about the details, but it is a good size. If Banpresto can release another Macross series as well, that could be nice collection. Quote
edwin3060 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Pass... especially since I'm already invested in the 1/100 line, which, even if you keep it to fighter mode only, has the added features of VG wings and TVC. Quote
Cent Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Yea, it doesnt look like the foot thrusters can be adjusted nor can the wings be moved. :/ Even 1500 yen seems pricey for this. I'd guess it'd be less than 1000 Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I fail to understand why on heavens earth, this stupid companies insist on putting out this Macross F valks releases WITHOUT super packs, I mean, out of the 25 episodes, in 24 episode they were all wearing their super packs really... WTF!??? Quote
regult Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 1/144 is a big enough to pack some decent dose of details and landing gears! That would make these stand apart from the tiny 1/250. I am also not sure I would pay for it if it turns out to be PVC. Although everything seems fixed in this toy, on the positive side, the legs are "retracted" all the way up. Quote
Cent Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Its looking pretty PVC to me, Graham. The vertical stabs are quite thick, probably to resist PVC bowing. In fact, even the VF-25G's thick single antennae seems to show a little bit of curve. Quote

Since it's Banpresto's "prize toys" (the kind you get from UFO catcher games and gashapon machines), it's more than likely to be PVC. Edited May 29, 2009 by Vifam7 Quote
CF18 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 It appears Banpresto will release more VF-25 in other modes. Looks like fixed pose, coming in December. Quote
wolfx Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Didn't banpresto release the same sorta things for the other macross lines more notably Macross 7 in the past? Quote
Valk009 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 It is really looking like PVC, so a pass for me! I have nothing against PVC but it just seems to me that many PVC toys produced in the last few years just do not stand the test of time. I have some gashapon toys for over ten years without any problems; no colour fading, sticking or crumbling. But with newer PVC toys, they somehow start to stick and sometimes melt after a few months and they have been stored away from heat and direct sunlight! Quote
regult Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Realized there is a twist to these "display" items, namely, keychains! Alto's F in gerwalk mode: Alto battroid: Ozma's S in battroid: Available for pre-order at HLJ already with a release date set in August, price per item is listed as 665 Yen a piece. They're apparently 8cm. tall in battroid, wonder if it's exactly the same mold as the "display" versions because they used the same pictures and probably photoshopped a keychain on it. CF18 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 The fighters are listed on HLJ now, at 1450 yen MSRP. Rather pricey. Quote
grymg Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 This will go nicely with my Doyusha 1/144's. Except those have landing gears, and are much better quality. Maybe the Banpresto's will be a good desktop ornament. Waiting for the F preorder. . . Quote
grymg Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 All of the Macross Frontier Fighter Displays are available for preorder now at HLJ. Why are only Luca and Michael early bird special discounted? And what's size difference between the Macross Frontier Fighter Displays and the Macross Frontier Display Figure Minis? Quote
CF18 Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 The Alto and Ozma will be released one month earlier. HLJ had early bird on them before. They haven't release any real photos of the minis so we can't compare yet. Quote
