logos Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I see Overdrive has SV-51s on sale for $124. Which one of these is less likely to have the floppy wings? I have to finally get one now at this price. 1/60 SV-51 Ivanov Type http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/produc...products_id=504 1/60 SV-51 Nora Type http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/produc...products_id=505 Quote
geepogi Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) i have the CF! i would like to have the ivanov but i don't want to gamble as there is a lot of negative feedback about it. but if you only like to display in fighter mode, get the ivanov. the nora looks too flamboyant for me, but it already has the "fixes". by the way, there are already some threads in the same vein as your question. i think you'll get more information from there. Graham Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Nora and the cannon fodder have less floppy wings than the Ivanov. Graham Quote
logos Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 So i guess the Nora then. I think I would have preferred the CF but the red really doesn't bother me and the CF ain't on sale. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 There's a second edition Ivanov with fixes, right? If so, how can you tell the first from the second edition? Is there any indication on the box? Quote
CF18 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 So i guess the Nora then. I think I would have preferred the CF but the red really doesn't bother me and the CF ain't on sale. HLJ have all SV-51 on sale for months. They are about $10 higher than OD. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Nora rocks. You never have to worry about "duplicate" valks with that scheme. (unlike the Roy-esque VF-0, VF-1, and every other Roy/Jolly Rogers repaint, or the many Max-esque or Hikaru-esque ones, etc) Quote
General Chaos Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Get a Nora.. The scheme is a great colour change up for your collection and it's also got the fixes like people say. Quote
honkhet Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 NORA NORA NORA!!! NORA FTW! unique color scheme, unique female valkyrie pilot (until the day we get a 1/60 ver2 miria) (no, the Q-rau is not a valkyrie) the 1/48 VF-1J miria DID NOT HAVE BOOBS Quote
ntsan Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 You can get them for US$80 on YJA (that price include the deputy charge and postage in Japan, otherwise it is around 5000 yen exclude postage) Quote
Repiv_Onex Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 If u are those who love to display their valks in Fighter or Gerwalk mode, don't get the ivanov like I did. The wings are so floppy that they touches the ground in Fighter mode, and never mantain a nice posture in Gerwalk mode. Because of that I could only display my Ivanov in the "launching mode" with its wings folded like it did in Mac0. If u only display your valks in Battroid mode, then I would say get a Ivanov with u have a VF-0S and get a Nora if u have a VF-0A Shin to pair them up. Just be reminded that the Ivanov wings are really really very floppy. And I have never see anyone in the forum mentioned anything on the ivanov fixes. If u check the old thread, everyone who got a Nora say she is really tight. Quote
Talonvar Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Also been tempted to get one or the other, do both come with a stand included or just the CF though? Quote
Talonvar Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Neato! Wasnt 100% sure since i only saw pics on some website of the CF with the stand, makes deciding all the harder now im sure Quote
Dobber Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Hmmm, that is a very tempting price! I am tempted to get a Nora. My repainted Ivanov wasn't too floppy....just a little bit of super glue and the wings where nice and tight. Damn I wish there wasn't so many other things I want, so I can't spend the money on another SV-51. Chris Quote
logos Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 Damn I'm torn. I paid off my credit card again this morning and if I get this I am going to be either carrying a balance on my credit card again or dipping into my overdraft........I am going to have to think about this one. Quote
Sluff Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 You can get them for US$80 on YJA (that price include the deputy charge and postage in Japan, otherwise it is around 5000 yen exclude postage) What's YJA?, Link? Quote
