miriya Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Sorry if this is old news to everyone but I did a search and did not find anything on it. I just saw this for my first time last night and thought it was absolutely genius. It came out in 2001 so a lot of you have probably already seen it. If you have not then check it out. The way that the animation is made to go along with the music is very well done and the music is great, especially if you are into turntable scratch artist DJs or hip-hop in general. These guys are phenomenal. Also they use some awesome mecha designs several of which are kitbashed models and some digitally drawn and some 3d modeling. I think this is a classic sci-fi animation in its own right. The movie is called "Wave Twisters" featuring: DJ Q-Bert Yogafrog D-styles DJ-Flare Buckethead http://www.thudrumble.com/wavetwisters.asp (from that page): Wave Twisters is an eye-popping, hip-hop meets Hanna-Barbera, animated adventure synched skratch for skratch with DJ Qbert’s turntable master piece of the same name. Each Track of Q-Bert’s original album was designed to provide the audio framework for another chapter in this sci-fi/kung-fu epic. Every aspect of the story – music, sound effects – even dialogue – has been seamlessly integrated into Q-Bert’s original musical compositions. Wave Twisters gives visual expression to Q-Bert’s narrative while pioneering the concept of visual skratching. It is incredible stuff. I have heard that Q-Bert has quite an impressive personal mecha collection too. If anyone has any photos of that please post here. Quote

Cool, well I am glad that someone here saw it and it is good to hear that you liked it. I am sad to see that the one person who replied to my thread and who saw this amazing film is already banned. I hope that it was not your use of language in this post that got you banned. But now I am talking to someone who is not reading this so what is the point? So I know that the screen grabs that I posted here look cheezy but this is a really good film and I encourage MW members to see it. Quote

Extremely hard to find. As for the movie, I've only seen it once: one of the Starz channels showed it (IIRC) a few years ago, but I've not seen it since. I had pretty much forgotten about it til now.
