nylcbv Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hi all, I received my VF-11B on Monday and when I opened the box, I was a little disappointed by the color Thus I had the idea to customize this... And by using these colors I want something like this I begin now... Quote
MechTech Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Thumbs up!! I think the stock color looks drab too. The Jolly rogers theme would be great! You can paint "Jack" (the skull and crossbones) on the tail! - MT Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Go for it Bro. that paint scheme would look super awesome on a VF-11!!! Quote
edwin3060 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Looks amazing. We all love the Jolly Roger's Scheme. If painting the skull and bones is too time consuming you could consider using the decals from 1/72 kits-- I'm just worried about how the paint/decals would be affected if you ever stow the tail fins though. Unless you are going to keep it in fighter mode? Quote
Fatalist Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 That'll look amazing when finished. Maybe while you're at it when tearing everything apart, you could tool up some bigger tailfins. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I begin now... You're one of few I think can pull this off. Good luck and Godspeed. Quote
nylcbv Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Thanks all for your attention. Here is my unpleasant part of the work, the dismantling of VF-11 (more difficult than VF-1 V.2), and the sanding of the various pieces (Pffffff, I hate this) The next stage is the pose of the "Tamiya Fine surface primer" Quote

edwin3060 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Looks amazing! I would never be able to do that to my own toys... unless something broke Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Looking good so far, make sure you take your time & don't loose any of the screws!!! Quote

edwin3060 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Wow thats fast! And amazing! May I ask if you got your decals from any particular model kit? Quote
nylcbv Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Wow thats fast! And amazing! May I ask if you got your decals from any particular model kit? I used the decals of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat 1/48 VF-84 " Jolly Rogers " Quote
BlueMax Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 You've gotta post it in the Toys section once it is done! Quote
nylcbv Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 I don't know if this can interest you ?... After transformation, painting likes well but the decal behind the cockpit doesn't love transformations I don't like "Batroid mode" for VF-11... (Ok, ok, ok )... and it's the reason that this is not perfect... For me, the VF-11 will stand in "Fighter Mode" for my collection ... ... and my custom is not finished, gunpod "Phoenix" and Fast Pack "Jolly Rogers"... Quote
m0n5t3r Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 wow! nice job there... you're one very brave dude, dude! Quote
edwin3060 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I used the decals of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat 1/48 VF-84 " Jolly Rogers " Nice.. thanks alot! Are you planning on transforming this? Please tell us if the decals are damaged or anything! Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Looks amazing in Battroid, In that color scheme ever mode probably looks sick!! Fast packs are gonna be sweet!! Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 You. Are. Good! I don't like it so much in Battroid, but in Fighter, it is teh smex! Quote
