James Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Like I said before these are the origional scans so you can see how much this picture has progressed thanks for the vote I prefer the one on the right because it's cleaner and smoothed out.
Wolfman Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hellohikaru, did the website I referred you to help?
Mr March Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Wolfpack themed VF-11...to me one of the harder Tomcat schemes to adapt..some just dont translate very well. Enjoy! Very nice custom! It's purty
hellohikaru Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Hellohikaru, did the website I referred you to help? Yup...i sampled the colors from there and compared variations of the scheme adopted by each squadron. Very nice custom! It's purty Thanks.. and your site helped too (Gunpod) Edited November 22, 2007 by hellohikaru
Mr March Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Yahoo! My website wins some more points Glad I could help!
Wolfman Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 (edited) I'm guessing that you took the third scheme for VF-1 and used the colors from the first, right? Edited November 23, 2007 by Wolfman
hellohikaru Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I'm guessing that you took the third scheme for VF-1 and used the colors from the first, right? Kinda..i wanted to show the tail codes on the same side as the wolf head.
Wolfman Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Kinda..i wanted to show the tail codes on the same side as the wolf head. That's what I meant.
James Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Here are some VF-2SS Squadron Colors I came up with First Is the 1062nd Anolis, 1063rd Bluebirds, 987th Bone Collectors, 63rd Dark Angels, 3rd Dire Wolves, 96th Green Dragons, 1064th Grim Reapers, 1st Harlequins, 927th Lucifers, 2097th Manticores, 564th Pulses, 64th Spectres, 5639th Sun Knights, 2098th Unicorns, 5638th Void Knights, 162nd Widow Makers, and the 2nd Skulls. Let ME know Which Ones you'd like to seen Newer updated clolrs of these squadrons are listed in order of pictures.
Kelsain Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 James, you've got a few neat ones there, but... The Panda says no!
James Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 The 1st Harlequins Is a Demonstrator Squadron...they do Air shows and the such Like the Navy's Blue Angels and The Air Force's Thunderbirds. They are not a combat squadron...That is why they have the paint scheme like they have.
James Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 James you are a one man production facility Thanks...But I'm not sure if that is a good thing LOL
James Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Which Kit do you guys think I should finish doing? the Right? Or The Left?
Knight26 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Other then there is a lot more cleanup on the left one, what's the difference?
James Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 the shoulder mounted beam cannons are the main differance.
hellohikaru Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Silvers Kings, a re imagined VF-96 and 4 Thunderbolts movie stars. Enjoy!
Mr March Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 As always, fantastic work. It's always great to see new Valkyries in the old classic VF-1 color schemes
hellohikaru Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Thanks..and the classic schemes seem to fit the VF-11 very well indeed.
Fatalist Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I wouldnt mind seeing a top down view of those VF-11's in the DYRL schemes to see how it plays out. Maybe battroid as well? It would be interesting. But thank you for saving this thread with some good schemes. I'm not a fan of the "fan created RPG" looking stuff. Especially when it looks like it was done in MS Paint.
Wolfman Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Thanks, Hellohikaru. I take it you've been watching "Dogfights" on the History Channel?
hellohikaru Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Thanks, Hellohikaru. I take it you've been watching "Dogfights" on the History Channel? Thats right. Should have had them upgraded to F-14A instead of VF-301/302/213
Wolfman Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) Thats right. Should have had them upgraded to F-14A instead of VF-301/302/213 No reason to insult a proud PACFLEET squadron, Hellohikaru, although I agree with you on VF-301. Oh, and my next requests are VF-161 Chargers, and VF-151 Fighting Vigilantes, with their Vietnam-era markings if at all possible. Edited December 11, 2007 by Wolfman
Mr March Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hey hellohikaru, do you also have a multi-layer template for the top view of the VF-11 Thunderbolt?
hellohikaru Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hey hellohikaru, do you also have a multi-layer template for the top view of the VF-11 Thunderbolt? Unfortunately i dont. I've never seen any top view lineart for 11. I doubt they even exist. I can however supply my sideview template if that helps ? Oh, and my next requests are VF-161 Chargers, and VF-151 Fighting Vigilantes, with their Vietnam-era markings if at all possible. Stay tuned Here are some new/updated schemes.
Mr March Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Unfortunately i dont. I've never seen any top view lineart for 11. I doubt they even exist. I can however supply my sideview template if that helps ? The top view schematic of the VF-11 exists! I have it. It appears in the book This Is Animation Special Macross Plus. After I get home from work today I can post a copy for you.
Mr March Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Here they is: http://www.un-spacy-qmtdb.com/Macross%20DY...b-schematic.gif http://www.un-spacy-qmtdb.com/Macross%20DY...r-schematic.gif
hellohikaru Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 @Mr March Those are awesome scans! Let me repay you with templates. BTW Are there any side/top views for the Ghost X-9 or Dragon II fighter in that book as well ?
Mr March Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 You're welcome. Sure, I'll send you my e-mail via PM. Unfortunately, I've never seen a schematic of the Dragon II. I don't think it exists. I do have a smaller side profile schematic of the Ghost X-9 (with Super Parts). Here it is: http://www.un-spacy-qmtdb.com/Macross%20DY...t-schematic.gif
Nexxorcist Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 hi, i'm new to the forum and i'd like to take a stab at coloring some of these. seeing what everybody has done has brought a smile to my face and makes me excited to participate as well!! the thing is tho, a lot of the line arts don't work anymore. =/ i was wondering if there are any working links to color from? i'm particularly interested in coloring what I think is a VF-2 that James has been coloring. I will guiltily admit I didn't read all 21 pages (hehe) but I skimmed through them finding some really cool stuff. if you guys could help with some line work, that'd be great! =) ---Nexxorcist
IAD Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Mr. March, did you take the top-views down? All I'm getting is a red X? ~Luke
Mr March Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Mr. March, did you take the top-views down? All I'm getting is a red X? ~Luke No, they are still there. For some really large pictures, like the schematics I've posted, some computers will not display the pictures within an internet browser. This happens on my work computer as well. Regardless, you can still download them directly without having to view them online (right click on the link itself, select save as). Once you've done that, just look at them on your hard drive.
