Dangard Ace Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Nice find. My wallet groans. How am I supposed to save for the SDF1 if Yamato keeps pumping these things out? Quote
Gunpod71 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Nice find. My wallet groans. How am I supposed to save for the SDF1 if Yamato keeps pumping these things out? Your wallet belongs to Yamato.... and mine as well.. and thats the truth!! Quote
OmegaD3k Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 M&M in wedding dress / suit? @_@ SOLD. How am I supposed to save for the SDF1 if Yamato keeps pumping these things out? This is true. Looks like I'll be skipping the M&M VF-1J combo for later... Quote
takatoys Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Good find. It also confirms that the Izamu pilot figure is too big to be in 1/60 scale. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Non-stealthy mod-edit: I changed the title. I hate thread titles that are non-descriptive. We need something other than a half-dozen threads titled "surprise". (and it's one of MW's rules, too) Quote
QuinJester Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I hope this is true. I'd prefer this scheme for a two-seater to the straight orange. Quote
BlueMax Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Good eye indeed..... was planning on living on instant noodles.... guess i need to be scrounging for scraps now.... hm... Quote
ff95gj Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 May I ask who are the orange ones on the left and right? Also the one wedding Max is kicking... The one with a purple helmet. Who is that? Quote
maximilian_jenius Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 well done priss... I sure will buy this Quote
BlueMax Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Ones on the right and left are Guld. The purple guy being kicked? One of the destroid pilots Quote
logos Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I had the credit card company flag me today on all my purchases from Japan! I think I need to stop for a while and maybe this will be the one I stop on. Quote
thankheaven Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 The pilot in the upper right corner, is that Gamlin ? Quote
BlueMax Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) Should be Gamlin alright... as for the other fully white pilot....can't tell... Can't remember anyone with a full white flight suit. edit: I stand corrected. Should be pilot figure from 25th anniversary vf/yf 19 as pointed out by Omegad3k Edited April 28, 2009 by BlueMax Quote
sharky Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 So am I to understand that you can buy an assortment of 1/60 scale pilots and characters for various Yamato valks and destroids? Quote
OmegaD3k Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) The pilot in the upper right corner, is that Gamlin ? The pilot in the upper right is Isamu, from the 25th Anniversary "Excaliver" YF-19. Edited April 28, 2009 by OmegaD3k Quote
thankheaven Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 The pilot in the upper right is Isamu, from the 25th Anniversary "Excaliver" YF-19. Yeah i see it now, its just a repainted Isamu. Quote
Phobos Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Good eye indeed..... was planning on living on instant noodles.... guess i need to be scrounging for scraps now.... hm... Dumpster diving FTW Curse you Yamato!! *shakes fist* Quote
eugimon Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Pretty awesome news. I'm gonna have to pass as this is waaaay too many releases for me to keep up with but I'm glad for everyone who's been waiting for this paint scheme. Quote
crasis Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My god... they just don't stop!! ALL my VF-1 wishes have been fulfilled this year. This was the last one I was waiting for for my Max and Milia shrine. So why do I feel overwhelmed rather than excited? Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Why are people all hyped up from pics of tiny pilots!? I'm not convinced until I actually see sketches or pics much like the VT-1 and VE-1. Come on people, are you all that navie. I mean, all this stuff coming out at once seems illogical to me. Especaially, in this economy. Quote

Agent-GHQ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 That wet blanket should be confirmed by G-man! Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Why are people all hyped up from pics of tiny pilots!? I'm not convinced until I actually see sketches or pics much like the VT-1 and VE-1. Come on people, are you all that navie. I mean, all this stuff coming out at once seems illogical to me. Especaially, in this economy. Why would Yamato tool up all new pilots of Milia and Max in wedding attire if they aren't going to use them? That's a waste of money. Considering that Yamato: A-likes to sell repaints like any other company to recoup the costs of making the mold B-The VF-1D has yet to be repainted and this is ample opportunity to make a canon repaint that actually appeared in the show C-is releasing a ton of VF-1 variants in their 1/60 line that only had either a few appearances in DYRL? or the TV series, but appeared onscreen nonetheless D-is keeping up with their output of having consistent VF-1 releases. The guys who are excited are not naive at all. Yamato already started making obscure variants and fan favorites that made their appearance for the first time in this new 1/60 line. Virgin Road doesn't surprise me in the least. In this economy, repaints from any company are easy money. That's not illogical at all. It costs more to tool up all new molds than it does to just repaint an existing toy in different colors. Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Oooh, you're soooo smart Ninja Boy! I could have told you that too. But I'm just not convinced until I see actual CADs, sketches, test shots, etc. Quote
DarrinG Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Interesting, not sure I'm in for one or not. TV Max comes first. The animation in that wedding episode was soooooo bad I don't even like to remember the scene. Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Yeah, I agree. That scene was horrible! Some of the drawings looked half-ass. Quote
lechuck Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 If they can release "Virgin Road" variant, then why can't they release a TV -1S with correctly painted head, TV arms, TV Fast Packs and Hikaru & Roy pilot figures!!!! Quote
Knight26 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) Oooh, you're soooo smart Ninja Boy! I could have told you that too. But I'm just not convinced until I see actual CADs, sketches, test shots, etc. Hmm, CADs, sketches and test shots of a mold that already exists, try looking in the two seaters thread and you will see all that. What you want to see in order to gain confirmation is a painted prototype, sjo. Edited April 28, 2009 by Knight26 Quote

eriku Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I mean, all this stuff coming out at once seems illogical to me. Especaially, in this economy. Yeah, looking at things logically. But look at how many Macross releases there have been from Yamato in the last few months, it's like they've gone nuts. They've already proven that they are willing and able to release a zillion toys at once. I'm just curious to see how long they can keep it up. Quote
MacrossMan Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Yeah, looking at things logically. I'm curious to know has Yamato ever been on a roll like this in the past with releasing so many toys so quickly? Quote

But I'm just not convinced until I see actual CADs, sketches, test shots, etc.No you already said what you what have told me and you're not convinced. Yeah, looking at things logically.Repaints are easy money, that's the most logical thing about a Virgin Road release. Undoubtedly Yamato wanted to repaint the VF-1D eventually, and Virgin Road is a canon scheme and the only other VF-1D scheme shown in the series. I think it was only a matter of time. They've already proven that they are willing and able to release a zillion toys at once. I'm just curious to see how long they can keep it up.I think they are going to keep going until they have released every paint scheme shown in DYRL? and the TV series, then branch out into offscreen stuff, like lowviz. I think they will hold off on Angel birds for a while, because the 1/48 version is still readily available for cheap, and not exactly flying off of shelves. I predict the midnight blue VF-1A from the ARMD-1 carriers to be one of the next unveiled releases. Quote

But I want to see the actual final production toy with the little figure in their wedding attire in the cockpits. Quote
