Omegablue Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 The 1/60 V.2 is a very light gray...about the same color as insignia white. -Kyp To me it's still white... potential dangerous yellowing white... Quote
Omegablue Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Amen to that.....yellowing on white plastic seems to be very much more pronounced compared to other colors.... Just take a look at them.... This scares me when I'm considering another White Valk... Really wished the 1S and 1J were gray... Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 WOW...Yamato are going all out on this...impressive, if only they spend this much dedication on fixing their QC issues nice catch on the pilots Yamato only needs to stick a 1A head on their 1D and repaint Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 No one ever mentions that the TV1S is not white but light gray.I actually expressed a desire for this earlier in the thread. Skull 1 just looks good in grey. Nice contrast with the traditional "hero" colors of Hikaru's VF-1J, and it's fitting for Roy's more grittier personally. Quote
Kyp Durron Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) No one ever mentions that the TV1S is not white but light gray. Funny, it doesn't look that way to me...if anything, it's insignia white, which is what the V2's are molded in. http://www.new-un-spacy.com/sdfmacross/vf-...ghter_small.gif -Kyp Edited April 29, 2009 by Kyp Durron Quote
DWN013 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I hate to keep the steady derailment going, but I noticed something interesting about the TV roy 1S... I used to think it had red shoulder triangles, as seen on Mr. March's site. But I watched an episode or two recently (forget which ones) and it definitely had yellow shoulder triangles. Maybe it has red triangles in other episodes, I don't know... Quote
miriya Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 So in SDFM virgin road valk is a VF-1A but hasegawa made it a VF-1D and so it became a standard? Quote
jenius Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 No, it's not a VF-1A because it has two seats... but it has a 1A head in the cartoon. For the purposes of the animation they just magically made Max's VF-1A a two seater temporarily but it magically growing a second seat doesn't make sense so later it was decided that it should have been a VF-1D painted the same as Max's 1A. So, ever since the series ended, the magic two-seat VF-1A has been properly reclassified as a VF-1D with the same paint scheme as Max's VF-1A... the head shown in the animation is to be ignored. m0n5t3r Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) how about the VF-25s that suddenly became 2-seaters in the Galia IV ep.? same kind of magic, maybe... Edited April 30, 2009 by m0n5t3r Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 haha, so Yamato can just stick a 1A head and sell it as an exclusive...oh, the possibility to milk macross are endless, hehe Quote
edwin3060 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 how about the VF-25s that suddenly became 2-seaters in the Galia IV ep.? same kind of magic, maybe... Apparently there is a fold-away seat behind the pilot for the VF-25 that is usually covered up by a shroud. Or so it says in one of the DVD booklets or Mac Chronicles. Quote
Scream Man Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) It'd be random if yamato was offering a set of pilots wouldnt it? like a bag o pilots for the different 1/60's, so u could mix n match Edited April 30, 2009 by Scream Man Quote

Given how mixed up the origin of this 'V'R valk is, I'm surprised people are still clamoring for it. I like everything from the original series but this seems like a stretch. Would be sad to think that this might sell more (never having really existed!) over a destroid Spartan that was shown in detail about 30X . . . Quote

No, it's just the awful Star Pro animators. It wasn't decided later, Studio Nue intended it to be a VF-1D from the beginning as the lineart for that episode clearly shows on page 69 of TIAS Macross Animation Materials Volume 2 (the RED one). It is even labelled VF-1D. Remember the same studio drew Roy's VF1S with a 1A head for some scenes of episode 3. Quote

Lonely Soldier Boy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I can't seem to identify the Isamu figure on top. It seems a resculpt, shunken to the right scale and with feet Isamu figure. Anybody knows which release this figure came with? Edited May 2, 2009 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 it'd be nice if Yamato could sell spare pilots to we could replace the chubby amputated Isamu of the 19 Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks Jenius. Ok, now you all know. I don't own a VF-11. Are you happy? Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Since I like the VF-11, I have no plan to purchase it. Just stick with the 1/60 ver. 02 VF-1 . Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Maybe one of the dumber questions asked, but does this mean Yamato will actually make a 1/60 Virgin Road Valkyrie? If so I'm in for one!! Quote

BlueMax Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 This episode is full of animation errors... more so than any other episode... just look at the escort CF VF-1s.... what kind of head is it having??? heck... Focker's 1S was also shown shown as an 1A in one ofthe 1st 3 spisodes of SDF: M... anyway, the word is that Kawamori and Co. had intended it to be a 1D, so there we have it: a 1/60 VF-1D releasing by this Saturday. Javabean Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yes full of errors. The picture tell us its a two seater 1A. Quote

bluemax151 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 a 1/60 VF-1D releasing by this Saturday. I hope so. I've had this on preorder for what seems like forever. Quote
BlueMax Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yep, confirmed. It states so On Yamato's website: Likewise for the M&M VF-1Jsoas well.
bluemax151 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It also used to say September(?). Too bad I already had a bunch of items ship but can't wait to get my hands on this. Quote
BlueMax Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yep, but if you go to the website, the rest of the items simply just state "Nov" or "Dec" release, In fact this used to be so as well, just an "Oct" release, but now they have a specific date, so I'm pretty convinced that Yamato isn't screwing around with the specific date. Like wise, I have been waiting and pre-paid in full for this... so i can't wait as well! Quote
VF5SS Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Well, looks like a CF-1D to me... More mold for Yammie to milk. That's just a mistake. You can see the animators swapped the VF-1A and VF-1D heads. They also traced the lineart a lot for those poorly animated episodes and the only Valkyrie with enough different views is the VF-1A. Even Roy's VF-1S turned into a VF-1A in those poorly animated episodes. Quote
BlueMax Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yep, thats what I was talking about... episode 3. Focker on his way to retrieve Hikaru Quote
DarrinG Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yep, thats what I was talking about... episode 3. Focker on his way to retrieve Hikaru I still wake up late at night in turmoil over that episode, and 'virgin road' for that matter. Didn't they realize we would be hanging on every screen shot for the next 20 to 50 years!?! Quote
