alvaro Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Singapore. I guess everyone wants it. LoL that's what i call limited, limited seats. Quote
Vile Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Looks like a nice enough kit for what it is, but not for me - not at that scale and not at that price. Now, how much would I be willing to fork out for a 1/24 Hasegawa ... ? Quote

CF18 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 And this new version will come with an unpainted pilot figure. Quote
jenius Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Then, next year, will be the newest version that comes with unpainted Hikaru with unpainted Minmay on lap.... then the next version will be the damaged one. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Got the first version, don't really need this one Now give me the Fan Liner. Quote
Salamander Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 OMFG!!! Nice use of Kotobukiya Diorama bases. The Fan Racer itself also looks good, but obviously it needed a lot of work. Quote
Jasonc Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 $30 for another fan racer isn't too bad, esp. if it comes with a figure. But, I think my VF-1D Hikaru is just fine for this...and he's already painted. Quote

macrossnake Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 After all, you might see it in toy form painted with nice box art......... I've never seen any nice Macross box art from Yamato. Quote
jenius Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 So.... you could spend $2000 for the new ultra rare SDF-1 model they're making.... then next year you'll get to see Yamato release a nicer version for the same price with bonus extra pieces. Gotta love that business model. Quote
Getter 1 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Hello All, Hmmm $60 for that is not worth it. Especially since a buddy of mine designed a paper model in 1/72 scale. He's working on a larger model with full cockpit and gear. The 1/72 has gear and a stand. The gear is basic but can always be built up. $60 vs. less than abuck for card and ink. choices choices Here's a few shots of the beta build I did for him. The card I used was a tad heavy so I buffed it all down to paint it up. I've yet to start painting but this will give you the idea. G1 Quote
Getter 1 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Oh note that the art work or "textures" are only the blan beta ones. The final model will have much nicer textures For more info visit TC's thread on the paper model forum http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/figurin...r-fanracer.html G1 Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Got the first version, don't really need this one Now give me the Fan Liner. Hear! Hear! I'll get my pilot with my 1/60 v.2 VF-1D... eventually. urk, need one without a helmet... dammit. Edited October 31, 2009 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote

miriya Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 So I got the first issue white fan racer from yamato that does not come with a pilot. But now their second release, the grey plastic version looks like it comes with a nice little Hikaru in civilian flightsuit pilot figure to go in the cockpit. Of course now I want that figure. If anyone gets this second version can you PLEASE recast that pilot? Or if anyone knows of a way to get one please PM me. Thanks. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) i couldn't wait for a recast (hikaru pilot which is SO damn awesome), so now i have 3 (2 first releases and the newer pilot version). Hikaru's is a given, but the other 2 are for Mac Aus Con 2010' customs. Edited December 13, 2009 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
Myersjessee Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Crap! Okay..so I have the 1/72 Tanmen Racer...but I always loved the racer...so now I need a 1/60. I see it on HLJ on backorder...I put my name in...anyone know if I am SOL (Sh*t Outta Luck) or if HLJ should get more in? I definitly want the one with Hikaru. (Need a 1/60 Minmei also! ) Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 If HLJ put it on backorder with a yellow square then it's a given they contacted Yamato and they should be receiving more stock. You have to be patient. Out of stock with a grey square means no one has ordered it. The worst scenario is when they mark it as discontinued with the skull Quote

Ignacio Ocamica Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 It's a great snap fit kit, some consider it to be expensive since it lacks landing gears. This kit is better than none at all, at least in my book Paint and putty make it a nice display piece with the other 1/60 planes!!! Quote

Yeah, I believe the Tanmen 1/72 I have has landing gear....but this looks like a nice quick addition to my other 1/60 Valks. I always liked this little bird. (Now I need to again consider a 1/60 Angel Birds though...as I think it would be neat to have them both going vertical! ) Quote
neko_fr Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Hi everybody! Ok... I can make an exchange between my 1/60 fan racer and one of the new ones in 1/72 scale (if I understood correctly)... No, in fact I dream about it I'm fond of 1/72 scale. My kit is intact. I know : crazy idea, but I had to try Quote
EXO Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The 1/72 tanmen is an old out of production kit. Quote
Myersjessee Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Sorry, not trying to trade the Tanmen, just wanted to add the Yamato. Quote
Penguin Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 (edited) I love my little fan racer. Shoulda taken the time to seal the seam on top, but it was too fun to build and I didn't want to wait. Guess it goes with the Yamato toys. They don't have sealed seams either. Edited February 20, 2010 by Penguin Quote

I would it park it close to the ID in a display if it had LGears, I guess it would just have to be coming in for a landing instead. Will wait to see what Yamato does next . . . Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 No landing gears, not even on the new one It's really up to you to decide if it's worth it Quote

Macross World Daddy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Just got mine from HLJ.com and it is pure unadulterated F'ing awsomeness!!! Quote
Ghadrack Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I hate to sound like a ho, shilling for someone, but I picked one up from Starshipmodeler a couple weeks ago and they just gut these back in stock, US based and they ship really fast. So you are looking, my expereience with them has bee nothing but positive. With Carl Macek's passing, my Macross / Robotech interest has been piqued this month, I went back and started the series over again, seeing the Fan Racer at the beginning of the series again got me interesting in building this right away Quote
