honkhet Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 looking at how great the armored VF-25 kit has been: - completely locking jet mode (with tabs), almost like yamato ver2 1/60 vf-1 quality - good gerwalk mode support pieces and display stand adapter (just need to paint them in metallic to look good) - good battroid mode display adapter and support pieces i can only imagine the vf-27 will be as good the worst offering, by far, is the vf-25 super messiah - legs sagging due to no locks/support in jetmode - almost non-existent gerwalk mode, but possible. no support at all - crap battroid display adapter that cannot support the weight. battroids can fall right off ur display stand anytime. i have practically stowed away all the super parts i ever bought (4 sets mind you) in total disgust for it. i'm not pissed off about them enough to throw them in the rubbish bin yet though right now all my vf-25 models are either in plain or with armor pack.
ba2784 Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 can't switch to another mode after painting~ hope you like it...
Lolicon Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Dude you painted the entire thing by hand? That's pretty damn sick! In a totally awesome way! Looks more like it was airbrushed!
shinagami Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 sweet....any useful tips on how u paint the missile pods? really looks great....
Smegalot Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I agree top work, pity it can't transform, but it is meant to shown off like that.
ba2784 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Dude you painted the entire thing by hand? That's pretty damn sick! In a totally awesome way! Looks more like it was airbrushed! thx~ mostly done by airbrushed~ details were done by hand paint~
ba2784 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 sweet....any useful tips on how u paint the missile pods? really looks great.... "light grey" and "red" portions were done by using Mr. Color. The "black" base was using enamel paint.
electric indigo Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Unpainted VF-27 in Model Grafix. You can see the very nice surface details.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for the scan!!!! The VF-27 is a great design, much better than the VF-25, it's becoming one of my favorites in the Macross universe.
Dobber Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I really like the metalic look of the prototype. Chris
Master Dex Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 This might not be the right place for it, but has there been any update on that 1/48 VF-25 model, is that actually going to happen? If so will they due all of the 25s or just Alto? On a side note, I might have to get that VF-27...
Cent Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I really like that rear angle of the VF-27 there. But the massive intakes in battroid look dumb as hell.
badboy00z Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 That one scene where Ranka and Alto was on the hill and the VF-27 comes out in gerwalk mode via remote was pretty awesome.
nexxstrait Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 That one scene where Ranka and Alto was on the hill and the VF-27 comes out in gerwalk mode via remote was pretty awesome. Even if the VF27 couldn't have been hidden behind the hill. Or maybe it was hidden underground?
Zeropioneer Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Had we seen the boxart for the Vf-27 before? Credits go to ngeekhiong!
Zinjo Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Model Graphix source I find it amusing that the magazine has a question mark over the chase fighter. Particularly since it's been revealed on the web in pictures of the Macross Museum. The VF-25 Tornado...
Zinjo Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I don't really like the design so far, but maybe I'll change my mind once I see it in sweet CG action. I understand the reason for the design (atmospheric combat), except the tornado pack guns are obviously a Bandai design and very impractical (atmospheric entry anyone?). Not something we usually see from Kawamori...
Zinjo Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Wow! aircraft mode looks fantastic... (great design) - but gotta figure out a shade of matte dusty rose that looks military (any precedents anyone?) Check Russian aircraft...
Vifam7 Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I understand the reason for the design (atmospheric combat), except the tornado pack guns are obviously a Bandai design and very impractical (atmospheric entry anyone?). Not something we usually see from Kawamori... It's quintessentially Kawamori IMHO. We're talking about a mech designer who loves the idea of add-on armor, boosters, missiles, guns, and whatnot no matter how impractical or ridiculous it looks.
David Hingtgen Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 If anyone has a spare decal for the head of Alto's, I could use it.
CF18 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I find it amusing that the magazine has a question mark over the chase fighter. Particularly since it's been revealed on the web in pictures of the Macross Museum. The VF-25 Tornado... That was more than a month ago, before they show anything about the tornado pack.
electric indigo Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 New pics of the VF-27 from Bandai: http://bandai-hobby.net/macross/goods/vf_27.shtml Looks like you could build it with a clear canopy sine the structure there is just markings. What's up with the different chest armors?
azrael Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 What's up with the different chest armors? The chest piece on the VF-27 is slightly longer than the VF-25's. The longer piece probably interferes with the transformation.
David Hingtgen Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 They can mold THIS canopy in color, but not the VF-25's??!!?
Lolicon Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 They can mold THIS canopy in color, but not the VF-25's??!!? Apparently not. Clear purple seems to be impossible for some reason. There's no clear purple paint to be bought either. But wait, isn't the DX canopy molded in clear purple???
miriya Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Sorry if this has already been discussed but is this "Ranka Valk Girl" going to be made into an actual kit release?
Cent Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Wow its like Ranka and Strike Witches just got in bed together.
Lolicon Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 In the gerwalk mode shot, I just noticed that there are little tabs poking out from under the backplate. Are those possibly tabs for locking the legs in place in fighter mode? Please say it's so!
azrael Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Are those possibly tabs for locking the legs in place in fighter mode? Please say it's so! Probably.
honkhet Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 coming soon... my armored ozma, almost done
