Solscud007 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 vf-27 , the proto I find it hilarious that the laser rifle has to open to accomodate the front landing gear.
DarkReaper Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 The shoulders are a bit too small. Other than that it looks ok. Seems like the underlying skeleton didn't change much.
azrael Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 I sense some weight problems with the beam gunpod.
Aurora-7 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Looks like the idea for the 27 design was to incorporate 'super' attachments into the base design. Outwardly, it resembles a 25 with Super attachments. Considering Brera's role in the series it made sense to do a VF-27 kit and I'll take it but I would have prefered a VF-171 EX.
S-47 Berkut Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 (edited) I have Michael and Luca VF-25. Now i simply play with details and think how improve model. I think better parts stability in plane mode can be achieved by putting some small NdB magnets to legs and iron pars in upper fuselage. Same on nosecone. May be magnets in hands also. Found wm_cheng thread http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28142 , but i think of less amount of magnets. I have some screws from old dvd-rom, and found place on model where it needed To prevent front part accidental detachment in transformation process to battleroid mode. regult Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 (edited) the lucifer looks good only with gears up that gears down+gunpod deployed picture makes it look like the atmospheric mode was no more than an afterthought for Kawamori San. In fact, the wing sections of the SR-71+forward fuselage of the Su-27+"Feet" of the SV-51 are quite weird looking now that we have the actual model pictures. Edited September 1, 2009 by regult
PetarB Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I find it hilarious that the laser rifle has to open to accomodate the front landing gear. You're telling me. That looks awful! Surely there was a design alternative...
David Hingtgen Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 That's canon to on-screen. Bandai didn't make it that way---Kawamori (or at least the animators) did.
badboy00z Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 The shoulder's are too small but if it was bigger I don't think it would fit in fighter mode.
honkhet Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 yup i agree... still buying this though, can't wait hope to complete armored ozma before this comes out

Hi berkut, wow that is some job you have done but i never had any problems with jet mode for the normal valk, its the super parts that make the legs sag at the slightest touch (on a display stand) and they dont tab in like the armored version does
regult Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 (edited) I am a bit intrigued: how do those canard wings fit in battroid mode and doesn't it make transformation a bit difficult? I see the battroid picture and they're kind of limiting leg poseability! Edited September 3, 2009 by regult
badboy00z Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Maybe they swivel and fold flat like on the YF-19?
Cent Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Personally, I love it when the series have at least one design that is just far out ridiculous. The rifle splitting for the landing gears is a nice unique touch. I want to buy this, but I'm already stocked on model kits. Will have to wait.
Letigre Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I may end up buying this only since there is zero news on a DX release.
electric indigo Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 The rifle splitting for the landing gears is a nice unique touch. Doesn't the rifle also split when it's shooting? Not that it helps much...
Lolicon Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 What's with the generic pilots? Brera doesn't wear a helmet and flight suit, and I was hoping for a Ranka figure for the second seat.
Cent Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I think he does wear a helmet. Look at that screen cap to the right where the canopy is open and Brera and Ranka are in space. I think it's visualized that he does not wear a helmet only in his virtual reality mode where he's in free space.
Vifam7 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) It says here that the kit will come with "effect parts". What this "effect parts" is is anyone's guess. A flying Ranka perhaps. Oh, another thing to note is that - it says "based on the movie version". Edited September 4, 2009 by Vifam7

I think it's visualized that he does not wear a helmet only in his virtual reality mode where he's in free space. Fair enough. They still look like generic SMS pilots though. Ranka's really been hitting those weights!

Oh, another thing to note is that - it says "based on the movie version". probably a clear insert for the open rifle to simulate it charging up (this is NOT the new model, it's a custom battroid kit from last year made out of a VF-25F.)
007-vf1 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Maybe one of those little green aliens they took to the Vajra homeworld or even better;a detachable fold system unit.. that would be nice..
anime52k8 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Fair enough. They still look like generic SMS pilots though. Ranka's really been hitting those weights! hard to tell but it looks like the head is different, they have a more round bubble helmet (instead of the visor on the SMS figures). but the back seat and front seat figures look identical.
regult Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I think he does wear a helmet. Look at that screen cap to the right where the canopy is open and Brera and Ranka are in space. I think it's visualized that he does not wear a helmet only in his virtual reality mode where he's in free space. That's the answer...Ranka is not shown wearing a space suit in the virtual reality environment either, but when the canopy opens, she flies out to "Aikun" wearing a space suit, so is Brera. In another scene, forgot the episode, he gets shot, the virtual reality system is damaged, and he's seen wearing space suit and helmet.
Vince Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 if no one said anything before early bird sales is up at hlj
Zinjo Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I do so love the custom kits featured in these mags!!! The Klan armored Messiah is too sweet!
honkhet Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) posting some pics of my completed armored alto in jet mode cant show gerwalk and battroid mode yet cos still working on the hands and rifles more pics at my blog Edited September 6, 2009 by honkhet
Paliodor Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Great work honkhet . Your armored VF-25F is looking very good. You used airbrush or cans to paint it ?
honkhet Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 hi man! thanks for ur comment everything is hand painted with a good array of brushes, and clear coating comes from a spray can i dont have an airbrush
honkhet Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 i finally completed my model and photo shoot here are some pics, and you can view the complete set here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...mp;#entry786019 thanks for viewing
Paliodor Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow, for a hand painted kit, it's looking great, almost like with airbrush. Congratz
DarkReaper Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Indeed. You can barely see the brush strokes, I guess the clearcoat hides most of it.
honkhet Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 thanks for those comments guys! i used a solution called "mr hobby's retarder mild" (funny namehuh) it keeps the paint on your brush fluid for longer periods, and greatly reduces brush strokes
wm cheng Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 How did you paint all those little missles?
