PetarB Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 I have now finished this JUST IN TIME for the Brisbane Macross Convention. I will post beauty shots when I get back in a couple of days... Quote
PetarB Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 After a couple more clear coats and weathering, the camo pattern has all but disappeared. I don't know why... originally the delineations were quite clear, but successive coats has turned the whole thing grey. Maybe the Gods of Macross Canon are trying to tell me something. Anyway, I finished it as much as possible before the Macross Convention in Brisbane. Here she is. Looking at her now in daylight - this is the first time I've taken a good look at her while the sun is out! - I can see plenty of issues. Still, that's a job for another day, as well as the missile pods. Enjoy! Quote
electric indigo Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Excellent work on the kit & paintjob, and superb photography, looks very life-like in the low angle pics. I think the weathering is just right for that scale. Too bad helicopter models are difficult to show in mid-flight without photoshopping the rotors. Quote
Berttt Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Very nice work man. I will get to mine eventually but have a lot stacked up in front of it. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Wow, it turned out great I still see part of the cammo patern Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Looks amazing PeterB!! On your 2 side view pics, your Commanchero almost looks like a real Helicopter. Your kit will be the envy of all the Convention your going too!!! Quote
miriya Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Gorgeous work PetarB!!! Thank you for sharing the pics. It does not look like a model. It really looks real! Amazing! Quote
MechTech Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Awesome work! I think it came out great after all. The Eurocopter style rotor was a nice touch. You need to photoshop it in a dive firing rockets! It would be very realistic! - MT Quote
cool8or Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Magnificent. Thank you for sharing your work. And the photos are great, too!! Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Wow! if I didn't knew better I would think that it's a real helicopter... A M A Z I N G!! Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Beautiful work. You've really captured the feel of an actual helicopter. All that hard work and meticulous attention to detail has really paid off. Quote
big F Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Nice Most everyone has already said what I'm thinking Quote
MechTech Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Makes me glad I'm not a ground troop on the "receiving end" of it's wrath! - MT Quote
Phyrox Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 it's nice...but where's the ordnance? It looks really naked without the rocket pods. Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 it's nice...but where's the ordnance? It looks really naked without the rocket pods. I was thinking that too, maybe when he has more time, that will be a new addition!! Quote
ultimateone Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 PetarB - Any more pics with ammo completed, or are you going for the naked look? And to the rest of you that have this kit, build it and post pics or sell it to me!! /seriously... Quote
PetarB Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 I've actually painted up most of the rocket pods, but not assembled yet. Maybe I will get a chance to finalise it this weekend. If so, I will try and take some pics without the dramatic lighting. Quote
ultimateone Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Just wondering if there were any more updates or if any one else had built this kit. I got mine in the other day and am really looking forward to putting this thing together. By the way, any helpful tips, tricks, or lessons learned would be appreciated. Thanks!! Quote
shinagami Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 how can i miss this.....do they still sel this? SSM don't have them .....anyone knows where to get this amazing kit? Quote
big F Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 how can i miss this.....do they still sell this? SSM don't have them .....anyone knows where to get this amazing kit? It was made by John Moscato (Captain America) you 'll need to ask him directly if he still has any. He only does very limited runs though so you may be outta luck. Quote
Damaramu Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 This is a thing of beauty. Great weathering, with a nice realistic sheen to it. Can't wait to see it with the rocket pods! Kudos! Quote
coronadlux Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I may be reviving an old thread, but, any pics of the completed model with weapons and all? Quote

PetarB Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 I may be reviving an old thread, but, any pics of the completed model with weapons and all? Not a bad idea. However, a lot of my models are packed away at the moment due to a studio move. Yes, I had some of these displayed at my studio.... Quote
