Jasonc Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Is it possible to actually wear these things? If so is there any description of the actual size head it would fit? I keep hearing different things about them... Thanks. Wish I could answer that question with 100% assurance. What I do know is that the original helmets could be worn. Perhaps having these helmets will give me the ambition to make the flight suit to go with them. I was also looking at the other thread with the t.v. style helmet that was custom made. Not too bad over there. As far as Overdrive is concerned, they requested payment for the other two helmets by the 1st I believe. Don't know if they still are able to get anymore. Seeing them on the other site link posted on the previous page for over $600 is hard to swallow for anyone wanting these. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Look forward to seeing you don one Jasonc mate, hell i might even track down a Hikaru or Max DYRL? helm for myself if they are comfortable and not clumsy wearing. Quote
EXO Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 The other Jason, kidkorrupt, said that while his head fits in the helmet, there were screws that needed to be padded and kept sticking to his head. I doubt my big'o noggin will fit in one of these... Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Hmm sounds promising tho mate! screws should be easy enough to pad. Quote
Gordak Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I pre ordered 1 in May from angolz, it's been a loooong wait. anyone know when these things ship? -Gordak Quote
EXO Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 JasonC orderd them from Overdrive a while back but he knew he wasn't getting them in time for con, because I asked him to bring and he said he couldn't. My guess is these are made to order so everyone will get theirs around the same time. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 (edited) Bah! fricken deja vu with fricken helmets not getting in time for conventionz!!! Edited July 20, 2009 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
ATMacross Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 How about converting one of these to a DRYL or SDFM helmet? It looks like a really good start. http://gizmodo.com/5325853/scorpion-exo-90...torcycle-helmet Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I wonder if this helmets can have QC issues? Quote
Shaorin Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I'm selling most of the stuff I can live without, and plan on going strictly 1/60 for Yamato... that's exactly what i intend to do. i'd sure love to get that Minmay doll, though... Quote
JCSaves Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 that's exactly what i intend to do. i'd sure love to get that Minmay doll, though... same here. I also would like a Minmei doll. That one they showed in pics of MWCON09 sure is cool. I have an order in for the Hikaru helmet. Let's see if I can get that fulfilled. And the 1/60 Hikaru Fan Jet as well Quote
xstoys Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 No it does not. Sorry if this has been answered before, but: Is the mouth piece removable? Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) that's exactly what i intend to do. i'd sure love to get that Minmay doll, though... He's not allowed to sell it though? Pretty sure i read about it, terms and conditions for him to actually get such a wonderful piece of rare Minmay goodness. Don't ever sell it dude lol. Wonder if there were many standard editons made/available. Edited September 23, 2009 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote

ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 That's pretty cool, but this thread totally lacks pics of someone wearing the 1/1/ scale DYRL? helmets! When are you getting yours anyways Jasonc?? Dying for pics. Quote
Tober Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I was doing some Googling and stumbled upon this Mecha9 blog/site. There is a page fror the 1/1 helmet with some interesting info on it, but I don't know how accurate it is. Update (9/19/2009) : Over Drive Inc informed via email blast that Yamato is expecting this to be available by Late October. Update: Oops, just found out from Hobby Link Japan that this can’t be worn and is actually just a display item. And another page with more pics of the motorcycle helmet. Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Zoids from Yamato... lol. Yamato should just buy up every other company, then every toy would be made by Yamato. Quote
EXO Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Yamato sucks at making action figures. Every figure I've bought from them has been really disappointing. Quote

Kicker773 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 For those who pre-ordered it with Over-Drive, did anyone get any notice yet? It seems that these items are out. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Um, i was told these are actually wearable... so can someone (Jasonc?) please show it off! lol Isn't that what G-Man is wearing in his old avatar anyways? Quote
Uxi Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Too bad they're not SNELL rated... those would be awesome on a motorcycle Quote
Ivan Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I guess the Hikaru version is out. Some out of package pics in the link below. The box looks huge. And looks like you can wear it, unless, of course, your head is too big http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/aeartfggg-bschg...ticle?mid=11588 Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Nice helmets. Looks like they can be worn. One of the pics clearly demonstrates padding. Quote
mospeadamacrosstech Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Bike helmets!!! http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/index.php?logid=184 You know you're a Macross nut when you want to buy a motorbike to go with your Macross Helmet. :-) Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 does the helmet comes with the "incredibles" t-shirt Quote
Jasonc Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 I'm gonna check w/ Overdrive and see when they are shipping. I know the last email update said late October, and well, it's late October, so, hopefully I'll have some info. Quote
Tober Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 It was released a few days ago. My order has apparently shipped (not from Overdrive this time tho). Quote
Roy Focker Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 And I want to see pictures of people wearing them with their hat size too. Quote
evilriva Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) And I want to see pictures of people wearing them with their hat size too. omg this thing is huge!!!! I have to hold it up to keep it stable, head size it about a medium hat, but even if you had an XL i'm sure it would fit. I was worried it would be a lot smaller. There's padding inside, but it's definitely not made to be worn for long periods of time. Edited October 31, 2009 by evilriva Quote
dafunguy Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Wow, look at the size of that thing!!! That's what she s... (oh, never mind). omg this thing is huge!!!!
