Yep that's me at my last track day a few months back.. no I didn't purchase the photo hence the watermarks.. but anyways how cool would it look eh!? Edited August 23, 2014 by spanner76 Quote
Cdr Fokker Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 For those of us with pre-order deposits, any idea on when the remainder will need to be paid? Quote

UN Spacy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I know we don't like to nitpick here at MW. But is the red arrow on the side supposed to have a black trim? HOW DARE THEY! LOOKS like I'll be CANCELING my preorder. Quote
Vi-RS Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 The red color on the helmet looks vinyl wrapped instead of painted. Quote
moy Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 yes it will be vinyl but you might be able to order painted too. Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Am I the only one who things the Vinyl stickers look absolutely atrocious for something this expensive? Quote
akteon Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Am I the only one who things the Vinyl stickers look absolutely atrocious for something this expensive? Nope, you're not alone. Quote
Cdr Fokker Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Am I the only one who things the Vinyl stickers look absolutely atrocious for something this expensive? From FB: Ready to release in 1 month... using stickers to design the graphics in office So I presume the vinyl ones are all just for mock-ups. Quote
wmkjr Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I'm guessing these are gonna mainly be used as non riding (display pieces) by the majority here? I would love to get one for riding but no vents and no flip up shield would make it hard to ride for me as I know it would fog up like crazy and be miserably hot where I live. It was mentioned that you could drill vent holes but would that compromise the safety of the outer shell? Quote
oshanmacross Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 FYI, I just sent a email inquiring if any advance arrangements need to be done to have them painted. Looks like the masei_helmet@hotmail.com address has delivery errors. Think we are bombarding them with emails? The sales@maseihelmets.com address seams to work. Quote
Falcon 1 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) Thanks for keeping this thread updated.I just pre-ordered one red and one blue helmet to go with my Yamato Roy Fokker helmet - Can't wait! Now just to find a reasonably priced 2013 Pearl Stardust White Kawasaki Ninja 300 around somewhere... Edited August 30, 2014 by Falcon 1 Quote
505thAirborne Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 On the way home from the store I saw the Mailman drive by and wondered "Hmmm, anything interesting in the mail today?" Yes indeed there was!! Quote
94medition Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Congrats! So you chose the plain one (no graphics and color). How is the quality of the helmet? Is it easy to remove the visor? Do you have the Yamato helmet? If so, can you post pictures of the two together? Sorry for all the questions. Just got a little exited seeing the post. Quote
oshanmacross Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I assume we wait for Masai to contact us about the colored ones? The ones of us that ordered them that is. Soooo confused now... Congrats 94medition Quote
94medition Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 oshanmacross, 505thAirborne is the one who got the helmet, not me. I wanted a colored one so I will have to wait. Quote
oshanmacross Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 LOL, See I told you I was confused Congrats 505thAirborne Quote
505thAirborne Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Hey guys, I wasn't all that impressed with the colored versions so I asked if they had any unpainted models left and of course they did. This was only shipped out last Monday, so pretty damn fast shipping. I got the XL size and fits me perfectly. (if you wear a 7-1/2 or 60cm helmet liner you're in good shape. As for comparisons, I don't have the Yamato version... unfortunately. The clear Visor is a snap-on type, the main body feels very sturdy and the actual interior is a Motorcycle helmet (like a tank). My only concern is the Black Visor housing, not sure how truly sturdy it really is, a small piece chipped off during shipping (Which I already glued back on). Then again it would have helped if Bubble wrap was used. Anyone who hasn't had there's shipped out yet, please insist that Masei use bubble wrap instead of a clothe cover & a flimsy box. Not trying to undersell this Helmet, overall its really cool and once I repaint it & weather it I'll be happy as hell. But as far as packing goes, please make sure you request better padding! Quote
oshanmacross Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Cool, Thanks for clearing up the hat sizing concerns I had. This will be my first helmet and I've had bad luck with sizing "un-test-fitted" before. Quote
moy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 i ordered one with no graphics also did you get a email saying it shipped i have not got mine yet. Quote
94medition Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 505thAirborne, according to the Masei size chart 60cm (59-60cm) should be a L instead of XL (61-62cm). Did you purposely up the size? Does it fit better for you than one that is truely 60cm? I am a bit concern about the color and graphics too. Looking at the pictures, the lines are not very crisp and the stripe (arrow) is way too big. I am hoping this is prototype, and the final paint job/graphics will be better. I also thought about getting a plain one then plasti-dip it. This way I can change it to whether I want from one color to another. Quote
505thAirborne Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I did receive a email that it would be shipped a few days later after I made my final payment, but no tracking number. As for sizing I meant to type 61cm in my original post, but even if you wear a 60cm theres a top notch chinstrap on this helmet and that will nice & snug. The person I've kept in touch with said the Large & XL helmets share the same body frame & main Helmet, just the padding is slightly different. The way they showed the colored helmets it was a turn off for me, plus I'll be doing a custom paint scheme for mine so the unpainted version was the way to go! Quote
Tober Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 The 'colored' helmets with the tape on them, were they what people will actually get??!! I thought it was a pre-vis technique... How is that 'painted'!? Quote
moy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 i think they will be decals if you want paint it will be extra. Quote
