F360 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Ouch, glad I brought it from HLJ should the worse happens. Quote
Scyla Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 What's the issue? I usually don't click on facebook links but I really don't want to break my Quan[t]. Has it something to do with the outer armor bits that can be removed? Quote
F360 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 here are some of the pics from the facebook group Most of these are from Taiwan ,China and Hong Kong And the clear holder for the small Bit have reported braking from japan also. I did not notice a lot of shoulder brage from japan boards yet. 1 anon mention it could also be the cold weather . Quote

David Hingtgen Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Are the shoulder/chest bits, metallic plastic? Metallic plastic is often brittle, as bad if not worse than clear---clear plastic will at least be "holistic", but metallic plastic---if one area has few more "specks" settle out of place---that area can be very weak, and will cause a smooth random fracture just like in those pics. subie81 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Wow. I’m kinda worried about my MB F91 now. Have there been any reports of breakages with any other MB figures? Quote

Thanks much. It wasn't available just a couple hours ago when I checked, too. EDIT: That said, I still haven't gotten an email confirmation, so maybe it's more glitches... SuperHobo Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 So far, there hasn't been a single breakage with any build metal figure yet, just loosening joints. I've had my copy of the 00 Quanta for a few days now and both my shoulders are fine. The dark brown/grey plastic they used is not metallic and has been the same plastic they have been using since the 00 7 swords. For normal handling I doubt, that hinge could break. Unless you're wrenching it past it's intended range of motion, only then could it snap. From the pictures above, it seems they were out of the box like that so it must have been a fed up factory worker not giving a crap that day. As for the clear plastic clip holding one of the sword bits, I haven't tried that yet. Quote
kajnrig Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) Placed another order for the MB Laevatein, thinking maybe something went awry the first order. The order cleared all the way through without issue, but I still haven't seen a confirmation email. If anyone has had a similar experience placing an order for the MB Quanta, let me know. I'm fairly certain there's just a glitch in the system showing these two as available. EDIT: Back to Order Stop, and never got a confirmation email. Oh well, better luck next time. :/ MB Quanta also listed as Discontinued again. EDIT again: Seems one of my orders DID get in, as I just received a confirmation email now. Dunno what happened, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. MB Quanta still discontinued, though. Edited December 18, 2017 by kajnrig Quote

If so there might be an issue because HLJ can suspend your account for this and they did so in the past if I remember correctly. Edited December 18, 2017 by Scyla Quote

Yeah, unfortunately the second order went through as well while I slept. I canceled that as soon as I caught it, so hopefully there won't be any blowback. Quote
ErikElvis Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Guys try your best to keep an eye out for an available metal build wing gundam. So mad I missed a PO on that one! Quote

no3Ljm Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Back to the Metal Build 00 Qan[T] broken shoulder issues, is this more like a random bad batch thing or most of the entire production? I mean, how many people have posted theirs are broken? Quote

General Rasp Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) My copy had no issues (knock on wood). MB Qan[T] is a beautiful figure, Bandai did an excellent job with the details. It has plenty of markings and excellent matte finish on the armor parts. For a slimier design it has a good amount of weight from the diecast joints. The whole armature for the GN shield is diecast metal, that was an awesome surprise out of the box. Below are pictures right of the box. Honestly the parts I thought would break are the sword bits. The longer ones stick out just enough to get caught on shelve or else on a table. The shield comes fully "assembled" with the sword bits attached in the package and was secure in the clam shell. Maybe some of the breakages could have be prevented if the suit itself was clam shelled in the styrofoam. I panicked slightly when I couldn't find the clear ring in the box. I was looking around hoping I missed it and just happened to turn over the styrofoam box were it was packed. The joints were tight out of the box and had to be worked a little. The sword bit connections to the GN shield are solid and they don't fall off during posing. And you will want to pose this guy, he is so much fun! I might pick up the Metal Robot Spirits version from HLJ. Quote

SuperHobo Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) Playing with my copy of the 00 Quanta some more and it's a little less solid than previous MB releases because of all of the little folding out panels and hinges. His right blue forearm guard falls off a lot when posing. Furthermore, I can't get the white panels on the shoulders to extend, but those don't show any detail underneath so I'm okay with that. I do find his neck articulation a little limited, but not too bad. I'm a little worried Bandai is getting a little too ambitious with the MB line, where all of these added moving parts while cool, is adding to the cost and the solidness of these figures. On the positive side, the backpack design is better than the moshow one and it shouldn't break with multiple removals. Forming the buster sword and gun are also much easier to put together than the moshow. So far this is the best headsculpt of the 00 Quanta compared to any 3rd party figure or model kit released so far. I think I'm seeing a bit more painted details on the 00Q compared to past MB releases. I'm glad I have all of Setsuna's suits and I'm done with him. There's still more gimmicks to this toy I haven't gone to yet and I'll chime in on those later. Edited December 19, 2017 by SuperHobo Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Was starting to get a little nervous re: the MB QAN[T]. I have one in my PW at HLJ and 2 other pre-orders with US based stores. I may cancel one of those simply because I don't need 3 of them. Thanks very much for the reviews/updates SuperHobo. -b. Quote
