The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread 2

Its actually simple Apollo. To get a youtube video to embed it has to be the full address for the video. I.E. it has to start with https://www.youtube.com not m.youtube.com or youtu.be

That explains that. In the past I have tried to post YouTube videos on here and some would show as links while others would show up correctly. Thanks again.

WWE Money in the Bank is this Sunday on PPV and the WWE Network. Here's the card, with predictions:

WWE Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns © vs. Seth Rollins

- Rollins may be back in action, but he will not win the title. Either Reigns pins him, or he gets himself disqualified or counted out. WWE still insists on having Reigns as their poster boy, unfortunately.

WWE United States Championship: Rusev (with Lana) © vs. Titus O'Neil

- Much controversy occurred early this year when O'Neil was suspended for 60 days due to a confrontation with Vinnie Mac (during the Daniel Bryan retirement celebration, he grabbed Vinnie Mac's arm to allow Stephanie Mac to leave the arena first). Logic says he should win due to the overwhelming support from the fans and the lack of interest on Rusev, but knowing WWE, expect a screwjob.

WWE Tag Team Championship - Fatal Four-Way: The New Day © vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains

- Enzo & Cass should have been the Champions last month, but Enzo got sidelined with a concussion after a nasty bump during the tournament finals for the #1 contender spot. They should win in this match, but don't be surprised if the New Day retains the titles.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens vs. Alberto Del Rio

- Momentum-wise, Owens should win. WWE will probably troll us with a Del Rio win, though.

John Cena vs. AJ Styles

- After losing to Reigns on the last two PPVs, there's nowhere else for Styles to go. Anderson and Gallows, his cohorts, are banned from ringside during this match, but regardless of the stipulation, Styles will join the list of Superstars buried by Cenation.

Charlotte & Dana Brooke vs. Natalya & Becky Lynch

- At WrestleMania, the WWE promised change in the women's division by retiring the Divas name. Guess what? Nothing's changed.

Pre-Show Kick-Off 1: Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

- Ziggler should just call it quits if WWE won't use him properly.

Pre-Show Kick-Off 2: Apollo Crews vs. Sheamus

- Even with his role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, no one cares about Sheamus anymore.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E, with Xavier Woods) © def. Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, and The Vaudevillains (Aiden English & Simon Gotch) after a double-team on Anderson to retain the titles.

Baron Corbin did the End of Days on Dolph Ziggler. Again.

Charlotte & Dana Brooke def. Natalya & Becky Lynch after Charlotte did the Natural Selection on Natalya.

Apollo Crews rolled Sheamus up for the pin.

AJ Styles pinned John Cena after Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows ran in and knocked out Cena with the Magic Killer. Anderson and Gallows were banned from ringside, but they took advantage of the referee getting knocked out.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Dean Ambrose def. Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Alberto Del Rio.

WWE United States Championship

Rusev (with Lana) © made Titus O'Neil tap out to the Accolade to retain the title.

Seth Rollins gave Roman Reigns © the Pedigree to become the new Champion.

But wait! Ambrose cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

WWE Heavyweight Championship

Dean Ambrose destroyed Seth Rollins © with the Dirty Deeds to become the new Champion.

The thing is the Hardy's are heavily rumored to be heading to the WWE after the brand split so this promo is pretty much a waste of cash. If they were really this desperate they should have driven a truck full of cash up to CM Punk's house regardless of what his UFC plans are.

I don't know if the WWE is up to rehiring Jeff Hardy, given his numerous drug problems over the past decade. Hell, I'm surprised TNA still has him after his disastrous match with Sting a few years back.

Yes, TNA is beyond desperate, but CM Punk has made it clear that he's done with wrestling. And if money were an object, WWE would get to him first, as whatever TNA offers him is less than Vinnie Mac's lunch money.

If CM Punk was done with wrestling he wouldn't be constantly harping about the WWE on twitter. I suspect he might have had a non compete clause that he signed when he began with the WWE hence his half hearted attempt at an MMA career.

The no-compete clause is mandatory on all WWE talent contracts. And you can blame Jeff Jarrett for that.

Amidst the numerous talks about yet the WWE's brand split, word out on the street is that the Hulkster is now in good terms with the company and he'll be back soon.

The only way he should ever be allowed back is if he jobbed to a reunited Harlem Heat and they break his back, make him humble. Old country way.

Twenty years ago today...

"Hulk Hogan is the Third Man!"

"Well the first thing you've gotta realize, brother, is that this right here is the future of wrestling. You can call this the New World Order of wrestling, brother."

For better or for worse the event that probably had one of the biggest impacts on professional wrestling the last two decades happened this very day in 1996 at WCW's Bash at the Beach pay per view event. The Hulkster's heel turn and the birth of the NWO helped propel the WCW to the top of the ratings war with the then WWF and to help propel professional wrestling to its highest popularity ever. But in the next few years WCW would be driven into the ground by the overuse of the NWO (EVERYBODY in the WCW wanted to be part of the NWO in some way), behind the scenes politicking by certain veterans, and some major gross incompetence within the WCW. By the spring of 2001 the WCW was sold to its rival the WWF for just a few million dollars. The now WWE has had no serious direct competition to motivate itself ever since.

For those interested check out RD Reynolds (of wrestlecrap.com fame) and Bryan Alvarez's book The Death of WCW 10th Anniversary Edition for a look back at those eventful times.

I was at the Smackdown show tonight, and either WWE are the biggest trolls ever or Bayley was supposed to debut tonight then dropped at the last minute. Being one of the first people in the door I noticed there were "Hugger Section" signs left on all the tv side ringside seats. Then there was the way Sasha's 2 on 1 match ended so quickly and awkwardly. I'm pretty sure Bayley was supposed to make a run in to save Sasha, but now they are saving the mystery partner reveal for sunday's Battleground.

In 2002, when WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was drafted to SmackDown, RAW GM Eric Bischoff brought back WCW's old Big Gold Belt and rechristened it the World Heavyweight Championship before awarding it to Triple H.

As expected, history has repeated itself.

With WWE Champion Dean Ambrose drafted to SmackDown Live, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and GM Mick Foley made a not-so-surprising announcement:

As for what the belt will look like? God forbid them resurrecting the Spinner Belt.

My Homegirl! I met her twice without realizing it back in the day when NECW/WWW did special events at the Lowell Spinners and Lowell Devils my local minor league baseball & hockey teams respectively. She had something special back then and I'm so glad to see her suceed at the top! :)

I also have a picture with Carmella too, but I didn't know it at the time as she was a New England Patriots cheerleader. Shocked the hell out of me when I found out who she was. :)

This is the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship, one of the most prestigious championship belts in wrestling history. From its inception in 2000, it has exchanged hands over 1,000 times. And in contrast to WWE's former Hardcore Championship, it's not limited to the 24/7 rule; it's fair game to anyone and anything. Hell, the monkey above was one of the former champions.

Here are some highlights of the most recent title changes.

Alberto Del Rio Suspended

WWE Suspends Paige

WWE has not been kind to these two ever since they started dating each other. And considering that Del Rio's contract expires next month, that means he's out. Paige will most likely do what AJ Lee did when CM Punk got released.

At least there's some good news:

WWE Suspends Eva Marie
