EXO
looked gorgeous but bored the crap out of me... everything was a narrative thru text messages or something... forgot... he did another after that, forgot what it was called... days or something or rather. I use the BG art for my laptop wallpaper. maybe that was the one with text messages. In any case, more like postcards strung together to make a movie. Ghost Train
It is a cute little love story with mecha elements . I watched it many years ago. It's impressive because the whole thing (everything) was done by one person on his mac... I think his girlfriend provided the voice for the female lead. Keith
Ok for a fanmade Gunbuster, but it's no Gunbuster.
RogueTrooper
Watched this a couple of weeks ago, really impressive that it was animated by one man on a mac. Like his A place beyond the clouds aswell, really beautiful animation.

todd77
Check out his other works: Beyond the clouds, the promised place: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=makoto+shinkai Byokoso 5cm http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=makoto+shinkai I've watched both and thought the animation was beautiful. The pacing of the films were a little slow for me but I like the melancholic feel of both.
Gui
Makoto Shinkai is far better on short stories than on longer movies, but all of his production is worth the watch, at least for the gorgeous art. Don't miss his earlier works if you want to see originality As for Voices..., it's one of my favorites animes, hands down. Although the common points are obvious, I don't think it should be compared with Gunbuster: this one is more a tribute to 70s super robot shows than a pure "tragedy of love" story; also, the respective lengths of both of these animes make them hardly comparable IMO
