logos Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I got bored at work today for a few minutes (well Ok for a little more than a few) so while I was waiting for something to render.....Please be gentle! I know there are errors, inconsistency and this is pretty slipshod but I was pressed to get it done while I was waiting.
eugimon Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 In before Exo complains about distracting backgrounds!
eugimon Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 no, no, it is the awesome. I was thinking of posting up that Yorick gag myself but to take it to the realm of zombies, freaking brilliance!
logos Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) Sorry should have add a to the .But yeah now that I look at it I should have moved the books. Edited March 11, 2009 by logos
logos Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 The hardest one to do was the kick to the junk. I had to hold the bottom of the foot of the D off camera and shoot the pic at the same time and it shows with the blurry pic.
AcroRay Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I'm the proud new owner of a Yamato Konig Monster! Been waiting a couple of weeks for some decent outdoor weather to shoot it with another 1/100 mech: ...includes a little Photoshop help for the background. Hopefully this summer I can do an SMS custom job on the Monster.
m0n5t3r Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 nice pic! but i think it would look better w/ just the Monster! awesome!
AcroRay Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Much as I love the Monster, I thought it looked a little plain by itself and I wanted something for a good sense of scale. When I get one of the 1/100 Bandai VF-25s, I'll re-shoot it. (And I also totally love the Toynami Valk. Its a great little item, expecially for the price and the detail.)
m0n5t3r Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 yeah the toynami looks good, it's just that it's kinda covering a large portion of the Monster... when i saw the upper half of the pic while it was still loading, i thought "this is looking good esp w/ the background"... i just think that it would look cooler if the VFs were in the background and you get a full-on, in-your-face view of the Koenig.... still, great photography, looking forward to more pics!
AcroRay Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Thanks for the feedback! I did shoot a couple of solos in the same angle of the Monster, so I'll work one of those up similarly.

pimphand Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I'll try and keep this short but sweet... DWN013, did you custom paint that Valkyrie camo or did it come that way?

Kicker773 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 You're definitely on it. Kicker, are you also collecting custom works from many?? You're collection is like a telling of customs on MacrossWorld. Are you offering your services? I managed to snag decals for a 1/48 Ostrich, planning on doing the yellow/gold ostrich with white decals when i receive your kit

pimphand Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Anime52k8 thanks for the link, I really appreciate it.
eugimon Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 oh gods, you had best put up a disclaimer you took that arm off on purpose or otherwise this here board full of yamatophiles is likely to do what they do best and head to hills screaming about more QC issues.
m0n5t3r Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 got beaten to the punch on this... here's my much simpler version, not as elaborate as the other one, but here it is anyway... didn't dare cannibalize one of my VFs... a TF is easier (and cheaper) to cannibalize...
miriya Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Awesome photo montage! HOW DID YOU GET THAT SEAT THING?!?! How can I get one?
m0n5t3r Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Awesome photo montage! HOW DID YOU GET THAT SEAT THING?!?! How can I get one? i was thinking of disassembling the seat from my other VFs at first... but i figured one of my cheap $10 TF classics would do and would be less risky... can you guess who the seats are from??? Edited March 14, 2009 by m0n5t3r
edwin3060 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) I didn't know the TFs were in 1/60 scale! Nice--- did you have to modify the back of the cockpit at all? Please tell us how you did it! I think this is the clincher for me to get the VF-1D Edited March 14, 2009 by edwin3060

Now that, my friend, is clever! When I first looked I thought to myself why in the hell did Yamato keep this a secret and not post pictures of this feature in their early photos. You gotta share the secret! I would like to pose mine the exact same way.
Alain Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Wow! taking it to the extremes Mon! now I know, this is what you had in mind all this time
diabloM Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 this will be a new feature in 1/60 vf1 version 3.0
m0n5t3r Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Wow! taking it to the extremes Mon! now I know, this is what you had in mind all this time thanks, man... yeah, this was what i had in mind while i was waiting for my 1D... i just had to do it... those 2 scenes in ep.2 have been etched in my mind since the 80's... no secret... just look for a toy car who's seats are just the right size for the pilot fig and can easily be disassembled... m0n5t3r Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 this will be a new feature in 1/60 vf1 version 3.0 i wish Yamato would just provide extra parts to recreate that scene even if it's just clip-on accessories...
