MacrossJunkie Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 The photo is pointing out the orange "Macross Marker" that you will need to color the heat shield and other orange markings on the VF-11. It's sort of an homage to the do-it-yourself cutout heatshield on the 1/72 version. Oh is that all? I was worried it might have been a glue stick to use on all the pieces that will break or fall off Quote
eriku Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Oh is that all? I was worried it might have been a glue stick to use on all the pieces that will break or fall off That too! That's what makes the Macross Markers so much better than Gundam Markers: Marker on one end, glue stick on the other. Quote
honkhet Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 i gues not... sigh yamato better hurry up with this, and the max jenius vf-1a/s... Quote
eriku Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) Since this is due this month I'm really surprised we haven't seen any extensive high-res photo galleries of the thing yet. C'mon Yamato, start pimpin'! Edited April 9, 2009 by eriku Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Yes, we need more pics!!! The wait is killing me Quote
Jasonc Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Perhaps it'll be out Cinco de Mayo (May 5th). I can get my VF-11 w/ a Corona and a sombrero. Seriously though, the wait on this is killing me. While I do like the VF-1s that are coming, for the most part, they are all the same (except the 2 seaters). Seeing stuff that isn't the norm is what I really like, and waiting on this is like being a kid again waiting for Christmas day. I can't wait to see new pics too. Perhaps that will quench my desire for a bit. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 i can't wait for it to be released too, but... its so you guys can get it first and review it and post pics so i can decide if i'll grab a first release or wait it out... but we all know that that "desire" becomes unquenchable when you see somebody else having massive fun w/ it already... Vermillion21 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 ... we all know that that "desire" becomes unquenchable when you see somebody else having massive fun w/ it already... QFT. Does anyone know of a US-based retailer selling pre-orders for these?? TIA. Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) QFT. Does anyone know of a US-based retailer selling pre-orders for these?? TIA. I don't think there are any more due to Toynami's latest shenanigans. At least not ones online that I know of. Edit: If you want a US seller specifically, you may either have to check any local stores if you're lucky enough to have one near you that stocks these things or go with ebay. Edit 2: I forgot about Image Anime, but they are a total ripoff store that severely overcharges for things and I wouldn't recommend using them. Edited April 13, 2009 by MacrossJunkie Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The wait is killing me. Everytime I look at my YF-19 and YF-21, it makes me want this more. Quote
Pat S Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The only place I've seen it for order is Overdrive, but I haven't checked into it that much. TMPAnime does not have it for order. Quote
eriku Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I early-birded mine from HLJ ages ago. Even though I quite like the 1/72 version I'm eager to get my hands on this update. But please, no exploding shoulders. :| Quote
do not disturb Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 this will be my first macross purchase since the release of the YF-21 but one things for sure, i'm not buying it til the 2nd release. they almost always put out a half assed one first, then follow it up with a second one with the fixes. Graham Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I've been told it will hit the streets around April 20th in HK. Graham Quote
505thAirborne Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I've been told it will hit the streets around April 20th in HK. Graham Will you be doing a detailed review of this VF-11 when you get one? Curious what your impression is on Detail & quality!! Quote

Javabean Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 (edited) Yes, we need Graham's highly anticipated reviews! Edited April 14, 2009 by Javabean Quote
Hikuro Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 You're kidding, I thought this thing was already out and people were getting theirs and I'd have to be all fin jealous cause I'm broke and can't afford 200 dollar toys anymore. 0_o buuuuuuuuuttttt guess not! Quote
wolfx Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Will you be doing a detailed review of this VF-11 when you get one? Curious what your impression is on Detail & quality!! I can foresee the review. "No problems with QC...joints are tight, paint is good, no breakages, no stress marks, absolutely perfect for mine." Which doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the mass production stuff we get. Graham's review copies seem to be of a better quality than what we are getting sometimes. I have high hopes for the VF-11B though. I hope its problem-free like the YF-21. Quote
Graham Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 will make sure to review a shop bought production version. Quote
lechuck Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 will make sure to review a shop bought production version. May I ask why you didn't give the DX a full proper review? Quote
General Chaos Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 All of a sudden I have got pumped for this and went to order from overdrive but alas the checkout is broken on their site. Impulse fading.... Quote
Graham Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 May I ask why you didn't give the DX a full proper review? Lack of time. Still planning to. Quote
Bowen Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Looking forward to this and seriously thinking about this being my first 1/60 Valk, assuming the first reviews here are positive ofcourse Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Which doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the mass production stuff we get. Graham's review copies seem to be of a better quality than what we are getting sometimes.Yeah it's weird, one would think that the samples reviewed would get breakages, not the final production versions, but the VF-1S Roy that he has is still in one piece, but the final production pieces that I, you, and others got have broken hinges and not due to rough handling. Quote
DarkReaper Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Because those preview samples are obviously hand picked out of a batch of low-volume production probably made by someone more competent than the average chinese worker. When all those acceleration and top speed stats are made for cars they also select the cars with the best QC, smallest panel gaps and best tolerances. Maybe even blueprint all parts so that everything performs the best it can. Quote

Vermillion21 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 So expected release in HK in 5 days .... Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Man, that's not too far off. Hey Vermillion, it looks like you're going to have to change your sig to the next item on your wishlist With any luck, I hope Overdrive will be shipping them by Tuesday so that they arrive by Friday that week. Speaking of which, I'm not the only one having SSL errors trying to access the account page and stuff on that site, am I? Anyone able to get in contact with them and know what's going on? Quote
Radd Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 You, too? Man, I was considering starting a thread asking about that. I can *sometimes* see the front page of their site. Everything else gives me errors. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 ...Just so you know today they (Overdrive) moved into a new building so a response might take a bit they should be up and running by Monday since tomorrow is Friday. from Banpresto Ichiban thread. Quote
General Chaos Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I've given up for now and will entertain myself with the Max 1S, Nora SV-51 and YF-21 all on the way to me over the next couple of weeks. Of course all of this will change once you guys start plastering this thread with glorious pics of your new VF-11's Quote
