Gatsu Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 i LL NEVER SPEND MONEY FOR THE MOVIE VERSION!!! BLEAH!!!
BlueMax Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Okie.... so you don't really like the design for some reason....but not need to get that emo over it though....
BlueMax Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 The poster in the background with the TV version SDF-1 is apparently for the pachinko game (jodging by the word "fever").... i wonder if Yamato has any sort of tie-in with Sankyo (make of the game) or is yamato simply using "ambush marketing"? While they are at it, do it for the vf-1s as well! lol~!
Mog Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Granted, I'm still holding out for a TV version. But even I've gotta tip my hat to the level of detail they're already showing in these latest prototype pics. Money shot indeed, EXO!
Ghadrack Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 i LL NEVER SPEND MONEY FOR THE MOVIE VERSION!!! BLEAH!!! I on the other hand, I CAN"T WAIT TO SPEND MONEY ON THE MOVIE VERSION!!! YEAH!!!!!!!
ron5864 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Ohhh....this is going to be epic. I mean the price as well!
Excillon Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Ohhh....this is going to be epic. I mean the price as well! I'm guessing about high 500-mid 600's myself. Unless it's a G-system product, I won't pay for it, no matter how painful it's absence from my collection is.
Agent-GHQ Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Assuming it retails for $500 USD, I still think its too small. Especially, transformation is not as complex as the VF-1s! Until more details are disclosed....
macrossnake Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Ohhh....this is going to be epic. I mean the price as well! And the shipping cost is going to be a killer.
Uxi Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I'm mixed. It's definitely iconic, and I've always liked the DYRL designs better... I just like TV colors better. And really hope there's a variant that has Prometheus and Daedalus as well as ARMD's.

And really hope there's a variant that has Prometheus and Daedalus as well as ARMD's. It wouldnt be like Yamato to stick a Prometheus/Deadalus set on a DYRL Macross... it'll most likely come with an SDF:M version if they see that this version did well.
Excillon Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Well, I for one prefer the DYRL. Guess I'm in the minority.
Tober Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 DYRL all the way!! But a SDFM version wouold be a definate buy too.
CF18 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Just saw this from the movie thread. Good for size comparison.
vanpang Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Just saw this from the movie thread. Good for size comparison. its about the height of 3 pieces of 1/60 VF-1 valks in battaloid mode !
Godzilla Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Is there anyone here mad enough to collect a 2nd or multples of this?? ohmy.gif Godzilla? Kensei back in his glory days? Oh hell no! 1 is just fine. Now if they make a SDF-1 from SDFM, then yes I will have 2. My wife wont be happy but sh will be able to buy her shoes then b/c I cant say jack$#!+.
eriku Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Wow, that's actually considerably smaller than I was expecting. Looks about SOC Ideon size from head to feet. I think $300 or so is fair for something that size, but I can't imagine it being that low.
logos Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) I don't know....those are 1/60s beside it.....it's pretty big IMO. Edited October 26, 2009 by logos
macsam Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I don't know....those are 1/60s beside it.....it's pretty big IMO. i too think it's pretty big. The Minmay figure on the left is throwing off the scale and size perception
eriku Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) I don't know....those are 1/60s beside it.....it's pretty big IMO. Well yeah, the SOC Ideon is a big toy too. I wasn't saying the SDF-1 isn't big, just not as massive as I was expecting. Regardless, I'm not getting this at any size so it's not like I'm disappointed or pleased. Just an observation. Sure. I can hope for a YF-19 Fast Pack/Fold Booster style combo with just the carriers, even if I don't expect it.

It's not... people keep freaking out about shelf space or whatever and it's not tha massive of a toy. I think it's a good size.
Kicker773 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Already put money aside for this baby.. maybe even two if i can find room for the other one.. lol.. i hope they add gimicks on there or else i would have to
Agent-GHQ Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Looks small! I can't see paying more than $200 USD for this.
anime52k8 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Looks small! I can't see paying more than $200 USD for this. *facepalm* shut up, just... shut up. you know nothing about how money works...
Mechinyun Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Definitely smaller than I was expecting seeing it in scale with other things. $500 is getting harder and harder to justify... now if it was TV version.. no questions asked..Gimme..
macrossnake Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Looks small! I can't see paying more than $200 USD for this. I think the SDF-1 looks 'small' because it has a BIG Minmay doll in the front of the camera...
eugimon Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 yeah.. it's 4 1/60 vf-1's tall.. that's plenty big.
MaveRick Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 it's a pretty decent size really... i could only hope that it will cost less than 500USD, but 200USD (or less)?? naah.. that's too much already!
ff95gj Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) SMALL?! Frankly, it does look small in the photo. However, when you imagine how tall it is when compared to the 1/60s - to head it's 2 VF-1 battroid height, to the cannon it's more than 3. Now stack up your 3 VF-1's and look again... It's huge to me! Edited October 27, 2009 by ff95gj
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 It's big enough to pack a whole lot of details!!!!!
derex3592 Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) It's big enough to pack a whole lot of details!!!!! I'm SO gonna end up caving in and buying this.....then kick myself ten times over when they release the TV one in 6 months....then buy that one.....I CURSE the day I found this website AND heard the word Yamato and did anyone else just fall in love with the way they used like 7 VF-1J's in different stages of transformation??!! That's badass!!! Edited October 27, 2009 by derex3592
OmegaD3k Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Looks HUGE. O_O Been saving up for one ever since they first announced it - But now after seeing these pics I got 2 on the list. One in each mode! Bring this big beast on!
m0n5t3r Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) wow, looks great, but i still fear the eventual sticker price for this... hope they make a TV version. and the 8 VF-1Js in transformation sequence looks really cool... Edited October 27, 2009 by m0n5t3r
ruskiiVFaussie Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Ahhh!!! look at the size of that Minmay~!!!!!! !! wonderful size compared to the 1/60 vf1... wow.
