EXO Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 I'm definitely reading the reviews first. I'm so excited I've already forgiven the QC issues with the shoulder cannons... in fact I already pre-ordered a spare from Overdrive.
Guest sh002 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 that thing better not have any qc issues when it comes out or that will be insane
Guest sh002 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 i'll probably get one if the price isn't too much and it isn't an exclusive. i hope it comes with diecast parts.
SuperHobo Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Well Its about f$%king time! God damn is that one huge mother huggin macross. Oh god I hope its under $400.
Kyp Durron Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Not the T.V. version and the price is gonna be insane...pass. -Kyp
IHATEYOU Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Well Its about f$%king time! God damn is that one huge mother huggin macross. Oh god I hope its under $400. I think will be lucky if the price comes in under $1000.
EXO Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Honestly I'm guessing it's gonna be $240. People panic so much about the cost.
505thAirborne Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Honestly I'm guessing it's gonna be $240. People panic so much about the cost. If its that neighborhood of a price, even a little higher, I am so there!! Thanks for the pics EXO, this made my day!!!
Hikuro Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Honestly I'm guessing it's gonna be $240. People panic so much about the cost. Oh I have serious doubts it'll be that low. I see this easily as a 400 dollar price tag.
Cyclone Trooper Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Approximately double the price of the WAVE SDF-1? That's definitely do-able! Twice the price for twice the size!
ff95gj Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Oh I have serious doubts it'll be that low. I see this easily as a 400 dollar price tag. My initial guess was above $500. But I'm afraid I may be too optmistic. Edited February 22, 2009 by ff95gj
Vifam7 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) I'm guessing the price will be around $1,000 to $2,000. Probably a limited production run too. Shipping alone would be around $400 to 500 if ordering from HLJ. Such a large and expensive toy they'd likely ship via FedEX. Edited February 22, 2009 by Vifam7
Guest sh002 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 i think the price will be a little more. the 1/60 yf-21 lists right now at hlj for around $230. maybe around double that price for the macross?
505thAirborne Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm guessing the price will be around $1,000 to $2,000. Probably a limited production run too. I hope not, that would be a total drag!!!!!!!!
CF18 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Who can tell what kind of shape the exchange rate or our personal finance is when this thing release? I predict 24k to 36k yen. It has way more plastic than the 1/60 YF-21 even if it is mostly hollow. It can transform, right? And before we panic about price, how much did the Takatoku 1/3000 SDF-1 originally cost? Edited February 22, 2009 by CF18
boota Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm so excited I've already forgiven the QC issues with the shoulder cannons... in fact I already pre-ordered a spare from Overdrive. It's okay. I'll even wait till I read your review of that spare shoulder cannons.
miriya Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Just wow! Bring on the Battroid mode pics. It is too big at all. The price? I can only imagine it will be prohibitive for me.... and that I will get one.
crasis Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 WHY SO BIG??? Seriously. I absolutely LOVE it, but I really can't understand the scale of the thing. I've been dreaming of Yamato doing an SDF-1 for YEARS, but I'm just baffled by this.
505thAirborne Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I always thought with the SDF-1 that the idea of bigger was better.... Its just right in size for me!!!
isa_o Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) to boot! it's now going to be YAMATOS RIP OFF MACROSS FAN PRICES It's like their big Chance to MILK US FOR ALL WE HAVE. ISN'T THAT RIGHT YAMATO TAKE US TO THE BANK WHY DON'T you. I'd say more than the current price of the yf-21 x 2 or the price of the Beagle 1/10 at rip off amounts $400 + they will problably say something like the engineeering of the transformation is complex therefore we will have to CHARGE you More. 1. click to 2. click 3 click transformed. I'd want one but I'd doubt yamato will charge sub $200 for it. Edited February 22, 2009 by isa_o

isa_o Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 lol. Happy more so that they are coming out with one, but in this economy price point will make or break it at least for me. ummm... OK. Someone's upset... there's that choice NOT TO BUY or get the wave version...
indigofx28 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 cool! :blowup I'm in if the price range is around the $200 range.
SchizophrenicMC Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 If it's in the $300-400 range, I'll buy it. The bigger the better.
Cyclone Trooper Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Economic factors ARE something to take into consideration. I was thinking about what Vifam7 said...and he may be right. We're all naive to think that something this big is going to be a mass-production item. A two-foot SDF-1 is most likely going to be a limited-edition item with a hefty price tag. EXO's also right. If this thing ends up being ridiculously cost-prohibitive for those who don't live in the Pacific Rim...then we have two options: 1) get a 1/1000 WAVE version; and/or 2) forget the Yamato version even exists. But before we all panic about how many of our first-borns we'll have to sell into slavery to get one of these...let's wait for The-Powers-That-Be at Yamato to quote an MSRP on this monster...
nightmareB4macross Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Oh yeah, this baby is coming home to my house. I hope it's not too hefty on weight. Shipping this thing will probabbly cost as much as the price you pay for this item.
isa_o Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) found this on the web. guess someone was setting up. Edited February 22, 2009 by isa_o
Save Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) More pictures of everything on our site since we talk to Yamato there are no photos of the Macross 1/2000 scale only the spec sign, since there is a no photo sign. Will try to get clearance. www.otaku2.com Edited February 22, 2009 by Save

Vifam7 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Good news. Reports from Japanese fans say Yamato is aiming to keep it around the 50,000yen mark (approx. US$500).
