jvmacross Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 At least there is no mandatory "one to read....one to keep mint and unread...and one just in case"...rule on Macross book collecting right? Quote

jvmacross Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Another all Macross models book? Guess I'll get it... A book showcasing every Macross kit ever made....now that would be a must-have! Quote
sh9000 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Preordered the book at HLJ. I’ll have it ship with the Variable Fighter Designers Note. Quote
NZEOD Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 got that ordered. Is it a sign of issues that I have atleast one of all those kits on the cover Quote

spanner Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Got payment request for my Designer's Note book from amiami earlier this evening. Hope they get it shipped out pronto and don't fart arse around.. I'm eager to gaze at all the pretty drawings! Quote
slide Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) The blurb is so awesome, I'ma be VERY disappointed if they fix the typos before I get a hold of mine! Edited November 9, 2017 by slide Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Got a 'payment notice' too from HLJ for the Variable Fighter Designers book. I still find it weird how the HLJ payment works nowadays. Now the item is being paid without me logging it in. Scary. Quote

jvmacross Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 An absolute must-have for any Macross fan...from the first page to the last, every page is filled with Macross line art....best bang for the buck since the Kawamori and Miyatake Design Works books... You buy now!!! Quote
arbit Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Those arians were great in Macross. But remind me, where they from Ares or ancient Persian? Quote
sketchley Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 On the fence about buying this one - mostly because I already have the majority of the line art in other books. For those that need more convincing, check out Amazon JP for some picts of the book's interior: https://www.amazon.co.jp/マクロス-ヴァリアブルファイター-デザイナーズノート-GA-Graphic/dp/4797393696 Most of the other sites I checked out had the same, or similar content. However, this one is intriguing: http://www.amiami.jp/top/detail/detail?gcode=MED-BOOK-010579 If I'm not mistaken, that looks like line art for the VF-11 drone that appeared in Macross Plus! (lower right) Quote
jvmacross Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Yeah....I think the book contains additional line art that may have not been published in other books.....but may have been published in the various booklets included in DVD's and BD's... Quote
jvmacross Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Macross Variable Fighter Designers Note from SB Creative Almost every VF from every era of Macross is represented in lineart form. Since the book also contains the most recent Vfs from M0, MF, and MD...it is well worth adding to your book collection to have them all presented in one book. Quote
Shawn Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Wow-thanks for the heads up on the Hasegawa catalog-nice! Quote
seti88 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Had a mini scare today! Corner of the package was wet and tearing! .. Feverishly opened it up to find the corner safe and dry! Must have just happened so no chance of any damage to occur...i got it of amazon.jp, so i thk it should be covered anyway if there is such damage... Just have some time for quick snaps! Coming in at 271 pages of illustrations, am not sure how to go through it without splitting the binding........... Quote
seti88 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 the fabled SV-154 SVARD...... Jenius vampire markings in delta... and what i think is hayate's pop's plane... Quote
seti88 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Am a lil bummed tho that there isn't any M2 VF-2 references in the book tho....wasnt a fan of the show but still there are valks in there! Quote
sh9000 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 The book looks great. It’s currently in my PW and I won’t have it until about 2 months later but I’m glad I ordered it. Quote

Seto Kaiba Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 5 minutes ago, Mommar said: What is that extra missiled, turreted Battlepod? The Glaug variant there is marked up only as "Super Glaug" in the few mentions I've seen. The Regult with the big missile rack is the ZBP-104 Regult Type-104 (read "One Zero Four") missile spec, a New UN Forces analogue to the Esbeliben Regult missile light and heavy missile variants in the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross series and DYRL? movie. The regular (non-missile) version shows up at the start of the first episode of Macross Delta. The one with the arms and Quimeliquola Queadluun-Rau-inspired backpack is the ZBP-106 Regult Type-105 (read "One Zero Six"). Quote
jvmacross Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 What Seto said! Bring on the Bandai DX versions! Quote
Mommar Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 So all of those are Delta versions? I only remember seeing the ZBP-106 type in the first episode. Not the other Regult (I meant Regult in my first question) and certainly not the "Super Glaug." Quote
jvmacross Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 yeah...I recall the Regults and the funky Q-Rau/Regult from the first episode too....then the singing started and I forgot what else may have been in that episode...or the ones after! It may be time for a second screening of Delta for me.... Quote
spanner Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 got mine yesterday and spent a good hour looking right through the book and loved it! So much beautiful line art and pictures! Yes a very good back for the buck! Its quite a thick book! Quote
jvmacross Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 In case anyone is on the fence....how about gently used at a discount? https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1076619166&ref=list Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 My copy rolled in today, a day earlier than FedEx promised, and after a quick skim I'm pretty darn pleased. Mr March will be over the moon about having some proper line art to work with for the YF-29 and Sv-262, I'm sure. Quote
