DarrinG Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Those elbows and that heat shield are not line-art accurate to my eyes. And when I say something different I mean like Zentraedi soldiers in a 2 pack, one green, the other brown or something. Someone also said here they could fit into the 1/60 pods Yamato hopefully is working on - who wouldn't want that!?! Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 You're absolutely right, the elbows and and heatshield are not lineart accurate. What my original post was about was lineart proportions. Quote

Yeah but the lineart elbows are just a combination of 2-3 marshmallow blocks stuck end to end. It really doesn't have a clear mecha elbow joint like the knees, so this is a fair interpretation of it imo. Also where are the GN-Us heavily discounted? Quote
DarrinG Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 OK - let me revise my "Zentraedi soldiers in a 2 pack" comment. After reviewing my Perfect Memory book size chart, a Z soldier height will only come up to the top of a VF chest. This is likely too small and obscure for a company to take a chance on as a separate release. I would buy them but I might be in the minority. So we're not liable to get Zentraedi soldiers unless they come with a really large Regult release. Hopefully they'll have the guts to do 1/60 Regults eventually. So back to the GN-U line and what it would take for them to get my money; A Glaug, Q-rau, Hovertank, ride armors or even Legioss! - we have enough VFs!! (doubt they have the mospeada license though) Quote
bandit29 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Hikaru VF-1J and Max VF-1A up at HLJ http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00146 http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00147 Early bird is 3781 yen. Reg price 3980 yen WAY OVERPRICED Quote
edwin3060 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Thats almost 1000 yen more expensive than the MacPlus GNU-DOUs! What would warrant the cost?? This is getting ridiculous. Quote
logos Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) If there going to do these why not do Zentradi figs and less known valks and enemy mecha? People here would be gobbling them up if they just hadn't spent small fortunes on VF-1 1/60s and/or 1/48s. Edited March 11, 2009 by logos Quote
Vifam7 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) So I guess fast packs/armor will be sold separately for 2,000yen or more. That'll bring the total cost to over 6,000yen... Yikes. I'd like to get one nonetheless. Maybe it'll go on sale at HLJ... Edited March 11, 2009 by Vifam7 Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Yep better wait for them to go on sale. I mean its a joke, just ad 30$ and you`ll get the 1/60 ver. 02. Quote
Omegablue Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Figures are getting smaller and more expensive... If you think these are over priced, go and check out Alter's FMP Mech, 120 to 140 Dollars, no diecast, ABS, a collection of interchangeable hands and swords, and just 14cm tall!!! Quote
Cent Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Yea but it looks amazing. I really want to get one, but if I do, I won't have the money for all the new 1/72's Quote

DarrinG Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 CF-1A http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-94166-1-1.html Nah - not buying. Don't like the front green face visor, something is wrong there. Hate the heat-shield, still. And what are those giant fault lines running down the front of both legs?!? Quote
arrow Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 very nice. but for the price, nah. why don't they do the other valks that they have not done a transformational version of like the vf-0d Quote

And what are those giant fault lines running down the front of both legs?!? That does look nice. Is the GNU planning on adding MacII series? or Mac7? I wasn't sure if it was covered before, but thought i'd ask anyway. Quote
sidearmsalpha Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Still lacking detail, especially on the shoulders around the head, and those joints in the upper arms and backs of the knees have really turned me off. I can't believe the YF-19 didn't even have the landing gear doors on the legs molded in. Quote
Nexx Stalker Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I think they look fantastic. I'll buy the whole bunch (as a matter of fact, despite my initial dislike, I've found that the GNU M+ valkyries are lovely) Quote
jedimech Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Agreed. The GNU line valks are also bigger than the revoltech line and can be easily customised. Quote

505thAirborne Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I cant say I dislike the GN-U series, but I'd rather save up for more of the V.2 1/60's. The VF-1S looks terrible, yet the VF-1A CF looks pretty good. Quote

The VF-1S looks terrible, yet the VF-1A CF looks pretty good. Heh, the 1S head looks like someone dropped an anvil on it. It's so squat and wide. Edit: Actually, maybe not. it's the head lasers being so freaking thick and huge that makes the head look that way. Edited May 17, 2009 by MacrossJunkie Quote
EXO Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 It's funny because Yamato can never make a decent articulated character figure, but they can make these articulated mech figures. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Instead of making the GN-U line they should have made zentradi figures. Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Instead of making the GN-U line they should have made zentradi figures. I'd spend some $$$ on that!! Quote
Graham Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It looks good except for the cartoon hands. And if they had more mechanical hands, then no doubt somebody else would be complaining that hey are not 'anime accurate' to the TV series. Graham Quote
Omegablue Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 LOL, A CF before M.M in this line as well. WTF! Quote

Graham I'm in the "mechanical hands" band Are we going to get both types of hands? The previous pictures show the VF-1A CF with DYRL? hands. It's so hard to please all the fans Quote

arrow Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I guess they were pleased with the mac plus gnu to be continuing with the vf-1. Quote
Letigre Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 It's alogical step..besides, they can just as well milk a working VF-1 with repaints til the cows come home. IF that gets us other Macross mecah as GNU-DOU as well, so be it. Quote
